For a long time, I didn't have much respect for the panther platform of Crown Vics. but, since my son picked out an 09 CV retired highway patrol cruiser. I realized I've been missing out on a lot of fun! Watching your videos makes me gives some direction in my hotrod passion. If I talk to anyone who says crown vic style cars can't be taken seriously, I'll be happy to show them your videos.
I Love This! Out Of All The Mercury Videos That I Have Seen This One Is The Best! I Am Lookin' To Get A Mercury Grand Marquis But I Might Want To Step My Game Up And Get A Marauder.
Sweet f-in ride, seriously! I have two CVPIs, now its time for a Marauder. Your video sealed the deal in my head. Now I just gotta find a 04 DTR marauder thats unmolested.
Tony D Before you spend too much money, you might look into just putting marauder parts onto one of your Vics. The Marauder barrows some parts from the CV police packages. May be a cheaper option. Just a thought.
Yep, it can also prolong the life of your transmission as well providing you take care of the trans fluid. Sloppy soft shifts cause more wear actually especially if you like to stretch your right foot a lot.
Wow that sounds great. I remember the first time I saw a Marauder I was like what the heck is that a suped of Crown Vic? Then I learned it was its own Model. Very Nice
@ grjsb13 you are correct! But THIS MARAUDER had a motor swap done. It's still a 32 valve 4.6 V-8 but it's a COBRA block! It's an iron block with all forged internals out of an 04 cobra.
Thanks! I may PM you later on if that's ok for other questions? I've been away from Panthers for a long time and am trying to get back into a Marauder, and I'm sure I'll have more questions.
@ISUZU1987 ok so the rear have to be truck tires,is that stock wheels or after market? now makes since when i searched tire/wheel prices and it gave me truck tires for 275.but the 245's are reg tires.but u can only get those sizes.so wasnt sure.
Car has KOOKS mid-length headers, 2 high-flow cats, Aero Turbine AT2525 mufflers, $" Meg's res-delete tips, X-pipe and rest of exhaust piping is 2.5" stainless mandrel bent steel tubing.
You need to turn the traction control off, it's the switch next to the foot pedal adjustment switch. When ON the switch is dark, when OFF the switch will light up with a orange light.
Mike Samra ford has a v8 fullsize car they REFUSE to bring to america. the Ford Falcon of australia. the performance engines for it are the 4.0 Straight six turbo and the muscle option is the Supercharged version of the 5.0 Coyote. it comes in 4 door and Ute (ranchero like) style. it is a nice car and competes against the aussie GM Holden Commodore SS imported here as the Pontiac G8/Chevy SS. GM also imported the Holden Monaro and called it the Pontiac GTO.
I would like for my '03 Crown Vic Sport to sound like this, but at highway speeds, to be just a quiet as stock. I want a great roar under full acceleration, but quiet on the interstate. Any suggestions ? I love my C/V Sport. Not quite as cool as a Marauder, but the next best thing. I have full factory gauges, except for a tach, which I installed on the A-pillar. I think the ground effects package, the front Marauder bumper with driving lights, and the factory rear spoiler would fit the bill.
They were made only during 2003 and 2004. Personally I think the 2004 is better but there is only very minor differences between the two year production models.
Im working on my crown vic, my mechanic wants to put a blower on it from a marquis he put on a few days ago but i have to get lifters done , have you been through that process yet, of changing Lifters....
+Michael Rideaux Stainless Works Headers makes headers for your car which will bolt up to the factory pipes. That will increase power a little bit (I'd recommend getting a dyno tune done to make sure your AFR is good) and sound will increase some as well. Can get the headers stand alone, with two cats in the lead pipes or off-road catless pipes that will bolt right up. If you want more sound, you'd need to change the mufflers and/or get rid whats left of the stock exhaust and go to a true 2.5" stainless mandrel bent piping from headers to tips. Factory exhaust piping goes from 2.5"off the exhaust manifolds to about 2.25" going over the axle.
Grand Marquis is a MERCURY version of the Crown Vic. The Town Car would be Lincoln's version. A Grand Marquis is it's own model just as the Marauder is it's own model. Yes it has a less powerful engine because it's a completely different engine in both cars. Sure they look identical only because of the overall shape of the car. Same can be said for a Camaro and Firebird.
Have you electronically modified your shift points yet ? TCI makes it and what a difference and harder shifts also a Jet handheld has an option to modify shift points and change what rpm the shift is at
Car was professionally tuned by a Ford tuner and on the dyno. The best tuning option for the Marauder/Crown Vic/Grand Marquis/Town Car is via a SCT flash tuner. The canned tune from SCT is better than stock but having a custom tune made from someone who has modified the tune even further is just that much better.
