Easy ways to improve HTC Vive tracking 

Glad we were able to help! I had all kinds of issues with my vive until I covered up my mirrors as well but it's significantly more stable now :)

Hm, it definitely can’t hurt but I’m not sure if they’re large enough to cause issues... I would try a temporary setup to see if it makes a difference (maybe put a few sheets up with thumbtacks over the mirrors like I did in the video)

i believe its due to wifi issues but i’m not certain

Four things that strike out to me: 1.) The height of your base stations--I'm not sure how high you were holding your camera in relation to you but it seemed like they were pretty low. If the base stations are too low it can cause some tracking issues especially with the headset since in most cases that'll be the highest thing being tracked. 2.) The angle of the base stations--they need to be looking slightly down. You have them parallel with the ground which means that they won't be able to see your controllers in some situations. However, if they aren't high enough like I said previously angling them downwards could cause even more problems. 3.) The general positioning of the base stations--the ideal spot to the put the base stations is in the corners of your room. This way they have the largest optimal tracking area possible and you'll have less "dead zones" where they could lose tracking easily. 4.) The light coming in from your window--a heavy amount of light has a tendency to interfere with tracking so I'd pull down your blinds. Hope this was helpful, cheers!

hmm... this sounds like more of a software problem than a hardware problem to me if it systematically messes up at the same time... is all your software up to date? (Lighthouses, steamvr, etc.)

@@evezye1589 Vive site says they include an "audio cable" which may or may not be the sync cable. I'm not sure. What we *are* sure about is the sync cable is a simple 3.5 to 3.5mm audio cable and you can pick one up for very cheap: www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/7lzdh8/need_new_base_station_sync_cable_where_can_i_one/

@@evezye1589 yea i was in contact with support to get help with tracking issues and they mentioned the sync cable and asked me to use it and i was like uhhhhh i didnt get one in the box so thats a no go and they didnt even address it haha
