Beautiful work! I wasn't too sure about the brass, but I do like the sentiment of honoring the original craftsman. And it looks great finished.

CaneRodPiper thank you. I hear you about the brass. I don’t think that it will work on pipes that are for resale. It may be too quirky for the general market.

I wasn't prepared for discolorization that the Japanese Brass technique left on the rim. Can that be further buffed out ?

Roberto Lipani It really depends on the pipe and the look you are after. It is a hard question to answer with out knowing more detail

Another great video and beautiful pipe. I like the Japanese repair method. What grit paper do you use prior to staining? You mentioned not to go to smooth. What grit is between coats of dye? Thank you for these.

Hello Bare pipe, do you buff the pipe with compounds and wax after you polish them with micromesh ? Or first you do with the compounds and than micromesh up to 6000 and on the end wax buffing? Thanks for answer

Is super glue safe on the stem which goes in your mouth, or on the bowl where a lighter will touch it?

You destroyed a rarer perfect vintage pipe that is a part of Stanwell history. It worked and it was looking exactly how a 50 years old pipe should look. Dumb move !!
