i m 45yo European, watching NBA from 88. We live in the era of stupid journalists-analytics I highly appreciate LBJ but having supporters like them (Perkins,Wright,Sharpe etc), it only harms his reputation. All of them have the IQ of a goldfish. Personally i believe that the GOAT conversation has been finished when rules changed. Any Superstar of current era would play well back in time but not without struggles. Bring Mike in this era that nobody would be able to touch him and you ll see stats you wouldn't believe
@@JustLove.Official oh really? How did today's best player fair against Kobe? LBJ couldn't even get past Kobe when he was defended by him but Kobe could get his shots against him. What things couldn't MJ do today that he did in the 90s? You couldn't touch him now. No bigs? Emphasis on offense? Don't tell me about 3 pt shots because he averaged 37.1 on 2 point shots and he could make it his strength if it's what he needed in today's league. Imagine a guy like Isaiah Thomas can average almost 30 ppg... Who would stop MJ? I mean a physical double and triple team couldn't. What would today's no touch defense do to slow him down? Humor me. Is anybody breaking his midrange game in today's league despite lesser physical defenses? Volume/efficiency wise?
Kendrick is on the same level as ryan Hollins. No one should take him seriously. The man thought mj wasn't competing for a chip at age 35.... the man WON IT. This video is amazing lol
Ok, how the hell is Perkins gonna downplay any player when he wasn’t even a great player! Jeff Hornacek was no slouch, especially when you compare him to Perkins career! Come on man, show some damn respect to others unless you want your card pulled!
Perkins was good on those celtics and thunder teams as a defender and a big man presence but he became a joke when he went to the pels, then the cavs talking shit to curry in the finals while riding the bench lmfao

Man... I wouldn't pick LeBron over Kobe. Let alone VS MJ. The sheer killer mentality of Kobe is enough to leave LeBron bitting the dust. I swear that these commentators (refuse to call them analysts) are getting stupider by the minute.
I think Bird is better than lebron, better shooter, better rebounder, passing they both equal both are elite passers. Bird was a good defender people don't give him props but let's give it to Bron. Bird better free throw shooter and it ain't close. Lebron is better at finishing and defense that's it.

@Truth is Truth! 2022 To be clear, in my opinion Jordan is the goat. That said, theres decent arguments of why Kareem could challenge him for that spot.
@Someone you do realize Kareem has 6 mvps, including some After the nba - aba merger? N shitting on him for allowing the GREATEST POINT GUARD ever to take lead is not a bad thing. And make no mistake, even if Jordan played with Magic, the ball would be in Magic’s hands. Another argument would be competition. It’s arguable that Jordan’s competition in the finals wasn’t as great as the 80’s. Jordan got his first title against the Lakers AFTER Kareem retired and DPOY Cooper retired, they were not the same. You take the 90’s bulls and face them off vs the 80’s Lakers, Celtics and pistons and they would still win some but maybe not 6/6. Jordan won his last 2 rings vs Stockton and Malone who were 34/35 years in age. Why didn’t Utah jazz get to the finals in the 80’s? Many people argue the expansion teams watered the league down Anyways, those are just a few arguments off the top of my head that I’ve debated with people for years. If you respond, I’ll get back to you later, I’m off to go play ball 🏀 peace bro
@Someone and that's kareems fault that he won 4 MVPS pre aba and 2 post merger? You acting like the ABA was on a whole another level than the NBA lol stop it And No, if Jordan and Magic played together, Magic would have the ball in his hands. He would look to find Jordan but it would STILL start with the ball in Magic's hands. It's funny how you say "jordan didn't win in the 80's because hewas the sole all star" but for kareem you say "its not like kareem ever won without oscar or magic or worthy or anything" lol @ the way you give jordan an excuse but hate on kareem for the same shit. I agree that Jordan is the goat but you're clearly bias in this "debate" Jordan would not have won 6/6 against the Prime showtime lakers and Boston Celtics. Stop it. You're vastly underestimating the 80's Celtics and Lakers. They would've smashed the teams the Bulls faced in the finals.

Remember KP put up a zero on his eye when asked how many championships the Warriors would win in the last four years. What happened after that? Golden State got its fourth chip. Humiliating KP. Now as for Jordan not having the toughest road getting to where he is until now. KP really isn't knowledgeable about NBA history. It too six years for MJ to win his first NBA championship. Eventually leading the Bulls to a three peat. He temporarily retired because of his father's death. So when he ultimately unretired he leads the Bulls to another three peat. Lebron James could never surpass Jordan in terms of greatness. And by the way, MJ has a more stacked resumé over Lebron James.
For two resumes that are supposedly "equal", how can someone be considered the "GOAT" if they've only been the greatest assist leader and greatest scoring leader once each? Jordan was the greatest scoring leader, greatest steals leader, and Defensive Player of the Year in just one season... and that doesn't even include the other 9 times he was scoring leader and 2 other times he was steals leader. How can someone be considered for Greatest of ALL Time, when they aren't even the greatest in one season?

Here’s my opinion. The fact that LeBron James has played so many more games and so many more minutes than Michael Jordan, of course he’s going to have more points and more rebounds and more passes and where have you. But if you give them the same amount of time the same amount of minutes, Jordan surpasses LeBron. And another thing too, to have played so long, not have accomplished the things that Jordan accomplished, speaks volumes. And the fact that people still consider Jordan the greatest, nuff said
Plus the fact that Jordan never had a "rest" day. i think that's the dumbest thing. If you want to "rest", do it at practice. Jordan didnt do that either. LBJ will never be the goat. He could score 100,000 points and still wouldnt be considered the goat, in my opinion
Lebron rebounds and assists had always be higher than Jordan only points are not higher Jordan better scorer but Lebron more efficient he pass him in points with less shots attempted
KP is just carrying Lebron's weight on ESPN to stay in Lebron's personal orbit. Any true student of the game of basketball will tell you almost if not all of what he says doesn't line up with the facts. Nobody had to carry Jordan's water and didn't need people to beat their chest about his greatness. The other thing I would disagree about the most pressure on an Athlete...someone forget about Tiger Woods? Dude was on a talk show at age 3 and actually lived up to the hype.
In Jordan's career, he averaged over 30ppg 8 times. Lebron equalled it once and went above twice. Given that you can't touch a guy now without it being deemed a foul, and referees seem to turn a blind eye to travel rule Lebron should be averaging over 40 if you want to compare him the MJ.
I'm guilty of being a bit of a Lebron basher, and I think it's time I give him his due. He's done some incredible things in his career. He's definitely on the list of baby GOATs, and who knows - if things had been different (like if maybe Mike had been a quitter in high school and focused on baseball after getting cut from the basketball team), then maybe Lebron would have the GOAT title locked up in most people's minds. However... Jordan ISN'T a quitter, DIDN'T quit basketball, and proceeded to completely rewrite the definition of greatness. Lebron is an iconic player - a generational one even. He's been a dominant force in the league for almost 20 years, and that deserves some respect. But MJ, though... That dude was DIFFERENT. Never mind the 10 scoring titles (only WIlt Chamberlain has even HALF that many), the 6 rings, the 6 FMVPs, the 5 MVPs, the All-NBA Selections, the defensive accolades, the 3-peats, the iconic shots and games... forget all that and just remember this: Michael Jordan went 11 years without losing 3 games in a row. And if that doesn't squash any challenges to his GOAT status, then this can also be referenced as well: if playoffs are included, Michael Jordan has the longest double-digit point-scoring streak in NBA history... by more than 200 games.
Jeff Was A Clutched Spot Up Shooter From Mid Range & From 3. He Has Scored Many Lay Ups With Physical Contact. Jeff Played Great Defense He Will Get 2 Steals A Game For His Team. Jeff Also Was Not A Lazy Player On Either Side Of The Court. Only Weakness Jeff Had Was Regular Athleticism That's It.
No one has yet to talk about how many hall of famers Jordan play against (and still the best player in the league) vs Lebron. During Jordan's era, almost every team had 1 or 2 hall of fame players...not so much now a days.
The "Nachoooooooo Libre" clip was absolutely sensational.😆😅😂🤣 Perkins is a "Troll analyst" He's so auto of left field it's like having the sun in your eyes when he's speaks about the "The Goat 🐐" topic.#23 Michael Jeffrey Jordan
It took Lebron about 6-7 years to pass Kobe as best player in league. Lebron had about 5 years as clear-cut #1 (which is great). Then Durant moved ahead. Now it's Giannis/Jokic trading years as best... Jordan was best player on the planet from 1983 - 1998. BEFORE his 1st season with Bulls, he led college all stars to 8 straight wins over NBA all stars! No cap. It's right here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a4qy1klDae4.html
Only question I have is "what about Kobe"? I feel like he's so underrated especially because he's the closest thing to M.J. Just a thought. Don't forget Wilt's crazy untouchable records.
Shaq flat out asked "what about Kobe, why doesn't Kobe's name get brought up?" when asked about MJ and LeBron. LeBron can't be better than MJ when he isn't better than Kobe.
While I totally admired Kobe and meaning no disrespect at all, it is obvious to me that if he was the closest we have seen to MJ, he was no MJ. LeBron manages to be in the GOAT discussion because he is a completely different animal, which Kobe was not. It is easier to compare Kobe to MJ and come to the conclusion that MJ is on another level. LeBron has the longevity argument - but that's it.
Perkins was wrong on his longevity comparisons with MJ. MJ won a CHAMPIONSHIP against Utah Jazz at 35 years of age against the great Malone and Stockton AND Perkins is RACIST to bad mouth Jeff Hornachek. Basketball is a TEAM SPORT and people don't value players correctly in the NBA at times . That UTAH JAZZ Team was BAD ASS and would have beaten the Bulls during the MJ baseball days when MJ turned out to suck at Pro baseball
That's why, whenever I hear someone in this generation say LeBron is better than Michael Jordan, I laugh. Kendrick Perkins just exposed himself. "Michael Jordan wasn't competing for a championship at 35". Bro had no idea what the hell he was talking about. Sit down, bro👎
People seem to keep forgetting that today's NBA is much weaker NBA than the 90's. Lebron would be nowhere near as dominant as he was if he had to go up against players like Barkley, Mason, Rodmam, Ewing, Pippen, Drexler, Kemp, etc... Jordan on the other hand would destroy today's NBA. You can't even hand check nowadays. Jordan would drive every time and either score or draw a foul. Besides that, Jordan could guard every single position. Lebron cannot. On the flip side, a very small handful of NBA players could even somewhat guard Jordan. The same can also not be said about lebron. He is very guardable.. Anyone who actually thinks that these 2 are comparable in any way, clearly lacks basic knowledge of basketball.
Idk what universe ur in but I think I read one correct sentence in this post "you can't even handle check nowadays" Lebron is bigger and stronger than Michael, how the hell is LeBron "the greatest driver of the basketball" gonna be stopped. And defensively LeBron isn't as good as mj but LeBron can 100% defend all 5 positions. And lastly LeBron is plenty unguardable. There are plenty of aspects LeBron beats Michael at. LeBron may not always turn his killer mentality on but he has it. LeBron is #2 but not by much. Jordan is NOT a mythical creature.
This is why TV analyst aren't really are analysts. Heck, Perkins has zero NBA history knowledge BUT even those on the opposition aren't also are analyst. They don't state indisputable information to do rebuttals and are equally just as anecdotal as Perkins. There are many RU-vidrs who have basketball as a theme, could have shot down Perkins and made him look foolish on TV buy stating the facts and lies. TV analysts are entertainers and that's it. That's why they always hype LeBron and the young players and make controversial takes to make a sale.
Consider the following: The Bulls finished 10th in the Eastern Conference the year before Jordan joins the team. When Jordan joined the Bulls, they finished 7th, 8th, 8th, 3rd, 6th (Pippen in starting line up), 3rd (Phil Jackson's first season as coach), 1st, 1st, and 2nd. Then Jordan retires (the first time) and the Bulls finish 3rd without Jordan. Compare the above to Bird's impact on the Celtics. Celtics finish 10th in the Eastern Conference the year before Bird joins the team. Bird joins the team - he was the only change in the Celtic roster his rookie season - and the Celtics finish 1st, 1st, 1st, 3rd, 1st, 1st, 1st (McHale joins the starting line-up), 1st, and 1st. The next season Bird gets hurt in the fifth game, tried to play in the sixth game, but needs surgery and misses the rest of the season. Bird is the only roster change (again). The Celtics finish 8th in the Eastern Conference. Players are supposed to help teams win. Period. Bird did that instantly and knew how to make his teammates better, regardless who played with him. Jordan was great but it took him time to learn how to lead a team to the next level, and Jordan needed the right teammates to play with him, especially Pippen who would eventually become an MVP candidate (finished in the top 10 in MVP voting four times including third the first year after Jordan's retirement). By the way, Bird did the same thing in college with Indiana State. Before Bird joined Indiana State, they were 13-12. Then Bird leads Indiana State for three seasons and they finish 25-3, 23-9, and 33-1. Bird graduates and goes to the NBA and Indiana State finishes 16-11. Bird was clearly the difference. The season before Jordan joined North Carolina, the Tar Heels were 29-8, a #2 seed in the NCAA tournament and lost in the championship game. That's pretty good! Jordan's freshman year, NC is 32-2 and wins a national title (James Worthy dominated that game for NC). The next two years, NC is 28-8 and 28-3, earning #2 and #1 seeds in the NCAA tournament, getting upset both years in the tournament. Jordan leaves for the NBA, and NC goes 27-9, 28-6, and 32-4 , earning #2, #3, and #1 seeds respectively. In other words, NC was still great without Jordan. Unfortunately, we cannot do the same comparison with LeBron because he never went to college and, while in the NBA, he switches teams so many times, which will always be a negative on LeBron's resume. No single player did what Bird did at the college or NBA level when it comes to turning team success around.
kendrick needs to remember when talking about lebron going though adversity is that anytime any of his teams faced it he didnt perservere he ran to another team.and thats why i think lebron never had the winning mentality that mj had.is because anytime his teams were doing it hard he didnt wanna go through that so he ran to the heat then back to the cavs and then to the lakers destroying every franchise he left.lbj not even the second best of all time hes 3rd.
Jordan surely surpassed all the odds. All of them was hall of famers if not all star players. Mj because of skills and hardwork made it look easy to gain those rings. The disrespect to those Jazz Team is just wrong. The only reason they aren't considered top all time great team is because the greatest team ever, the Bulls beat them both times. Otherwise, they'd be up there. I saw those games, many were really close. The 1998 series had just one blowout by the bulls, the other 5 were decided by 5 points or less. Jazz were competitive. I actually thought they had a chance, and I was actually going for the Jazz in those days of my youth 🤷♂️
Kendrick Perkins hates Michael Jordan and really hates all the stars from the 80s and 90s. Because anytime you bring up anybody from the '80s and 90s according to Kendrick Perkins none of these guys could play.
@@eazymoneymane7789 you do realize that the rules were changed so Jordan could dominate right also Bill won 8 straight Jordan never been past 3 Straight. LeBron on the other has gone 8 straight but only won 3. So people can say Jordan is the GOAT all they want but facts are facts 11 -1 is never going to happen again.
@@Shockwave117yt , yea but it was only 12 teams try doing that with 32 teams different eras, he has the chips but offensively he's not that dominant, he's top 10 in my opinion, lebron is a better player as well, take nothing from Russell but wilt was better as a player
@@eazymoneymane7789 true however offense wins games defense wins championships plus Russell even said it himself he could have scored more but he had teammates that could score better. Offense I agree with you with tho. However you still need to take into account how much Bill impacted the Game he made it possible as a African American Male to make it in the NBA so My point still stands No Bill Russell No Jordan which means no Kobe or LeBron either
