Congrats Dave C! Love your frames. I build my own Dave C long rage 4inch. Love it.

As you can see from the comments a bunch of us have this frame. I'm so happy for Dave C this started as an open source and he worked with flywoo on it which is so cool.

I was wondering where ya would do the review, this is so rad man, amazing how fast they made this into a BNF with analog AND digital models.

Nice! This new spot is AWESOME! hope it features in more vids in future. I like how the tree lines messed with video reception a bit so we get a good look at VTX/goggle RX performance. Great spot, I like it!

I’ve had the Dave C long range build since he released the frame almost a year ago. Love it and this BNF is definitely the way to go!

Always enjoy your reviews.Not into extra long range,but I like the idea of GPS rescue or at least having the coordinates on the DVR,as I have a couple of hiking GPS units which would lead me to it.The longer flight times is a nice benifit.

The HD model looks like a perfect combo of size, GPS, extra loud model finder/buzzer, and the Vista unit for HD footage.

I actually made my own quad from the same frame. I took a Diatone GTR349 as the parts. Love the props are out of the way. 4" props provides more efficiency as well. I ended up going with tri blades.

Gday Nice, great job with the long distance flying, I've never flown long distance to worried that I'd lose my quad lol, but my understanding is that it should always have around 8 satellites at all times to activate return to home, but someone that does fly long distance would know, great effort awsome review mate.👍🛸

Thanks for this. Was good to see the fast freestyle capabilities. I ordered one and was getting a bit worried from other peoples' videos as they only gently cruised. I thought maybe the motors weren't up for it. I'm halfway through the video and see you are missing a standoff screw, I'm sure you noticed also.

it seems DJI receiver built in if you get HD setup with Caddex cam - if you get TBS receiver and fit TBS to Radiomaster TX will you get ALOT MORE RANGE? Or is it better to get DJI TX for better range? New and not sure?

Hey Nick, thanks for the review, especially the durability testing. The beeper was extremely useful in that first crash. Do you think you would get a more reliable control link with the Caddx Vista and DJI controller?

Not really looking for long range, but this is still an interesting setup.

Anything micro long range would be awesome.

For Emax tape - look for Tesa 51608 tape. Not exactly the same - a little fuzzier and stretchier, but very close and works as well if not better.

Oh if you want a great patch MX-AIR RHCP will get you great reception from my experience. I believe they are designed my ImmersionRC, either way it goes fantastic with rapid fire.

Hey @Nick Burns - nowhere in the review is mentioned what the battery connector is? I`m really confused by all the reviews of this product because nobody says what is it. In the product page there is special custom battery with XT30 connection.

Nick do you have a spec for the screws on these motors / props? I think they're M2, do you know what length you're using?

I believe the on time goes off on 10 min cause that's supposedly when you get ummm vertigo from wearing goggles idk if im right but that's what I have heard

But late to this video - as a new fpv Pilot - I am considering this down the road as a second or third drone. I guess I would be interested in what it’s best purpose would be. Does it jello a lot in flight? How is the stock tune? Can it carry a full sized gopro and is capable of solid cinematic video? Great video!

When you switched on and off the assigned GPS button on Betaflight in the modes page, did it light up on and off?

I been told that a good way to get a GPS to behave, is to power it on and put it outside for 10-15 mins, it should remember the satelites for next powerup and will catch them quicker. With the GPS mounted like on this quad, you can usually pry it out of the TPU mount and just put the gps with battery alone outside, instead of powering up the whole quad.

I look forward to 4" folding propellers 😂 One question, how many amps does the quad draw during a cruising and freestyle flight? I wonder how well it will perform on inr18650-30q batteries, with gentle flying ofc.

Hockey stick tape i still get why my 1st qaud the xk 251 would get close to 10 minutes with a 2s 850 mah it still had good power brushless motord and round carbon arms it was good fly r would be good one to look at to see how it did it

As a drone newb, who is after long range and smooth flight, would you suggest this one to someone like me? Newb, as in I have only a few weeks experience flying drones, and have been using sims mostly.

Any idea what the total amp draw is under load? Could use an 18650 pack to get way longer flight time EDIT: saw it at the end of your back yard flight. 37 amps could be handled with 18650s... interesting

Just recently got a tango 2 and long range has caught my attention. I’d be interested in your opinion of the topic. Maybe like a long range for dummies type video as I’m not sure where to begin setting up and using any type of gps functions.

So I just built an explorer. I used the Tmotor mini F7 and 45a ESC. Caddix vista nebula (which I may go naked with it once I fly and figure out some things) using t motor 29000kv motors. Matek elrs and matek Mq8 GPS. Haven't flown it yet because I literally just finished it. My question is this. I wired up the xt60 cable the stack came with. Do I run the bigger xt60 batteries like the 1200mah and 1100mah batteries. Or do I switch out for a xt30 cable and run my 550mah and 850mah batteries I use on my 3 inch. I can't decide at all. I have an adapter and will test out the xt30 batteries and xt60 batteries I have and make the final decision. But any input and opinion would be appreciated.

I would like to know more about the vtx antenna that comes with this drone. Is it LHCP or RHCP? What is the type of the connection. SMA, UFL or MMCX?

What power was the VTX set to (in the field)? -sorry if I missed it I'm on limited lunchtime lol

Can you swap, when not going long range, a tri-blade prop or steeper pitch for more power? I actually pre ordered it but didn't look at specs enough except motor said after 10mins 100% throttle it was still cool with stock props.

I’ve just built my one 3” longrange. Geprc f7 stack 4k tarsier camera 850mah 4s my xing 1404 3800kv motors. Finished building it last night test hover was amazing. Now it’s raining heavy in the uk I’ve got to wait now🤦🏼‍♂️

Nice scenery change up! Could I fly this on a STRIX Power Stix 3200mAh 3S1P 18650 Lithium Ion - XT30 (from RMRC - ready made rc)? Dave C FPV used a similar battery and got 37 minutes! I'm just not sure the ratings on his battery. Thanks Nick...For everything that I have learned from you!

I would really like to see the Hex version I am into trying a Hex out had thought about more the DJI wheel hex with that type of FC for a more “dronie” type flight position hold etc, although I really want to see this lol one in that version! Hope you get one!! I also have to say I am not a fan of the stupid little nano hawk the jello on mine is PTHEDIC! I’ve tried hot glue and simply just some cushioning and no it still sucks wish I just would’ve gotten the Tinyhawk II indooor for I used to fly it just fine in the house although if wernt for the TERRIBLE jello it would be a little better indoor than the other AND THOSE 300mAh 1 S suck I bough extra ones as well as a couple of 450’s and their ALL brand new I’m Lucky to get two minutes usually more like one minute sorry excuse for an indoor quad from what they usually put out reall disappointed with it may sell it but don’t want to sell anyone the junk!! Anyhoo there’s my rant on that and yeah wish I’d have just got another regular Tinyhawk II BIGG TIME!! Thanks good review and I’ve been looking at the GEPRC baby crack but I’ve grown to hate them as well those stupid little whoop boards now for “toothpicks” they simply suck shit through a straw and GEPRC is the worse one I’ve yet to screw with ONE wire came off the board and by the time I was done half of them are off and lost pads on few they simply suck their not what I call a quad FC!!! 6 to 7 sats is preferred. But the more the better. 5 sats is a bit low. More importantly though, make sure you have at least the number of sats locked as in your "gps_min_sats" setting in Betaflight before taking off. Otherwise bad things can happen. :-)

A very cool little ripper. I don't see where the insta 360 go is good for this though, as it only records for 5 minutes. With the flight time of this quad, you'd never record your entire flight.

Ack I ordered one of these right when they went on sale. Mine apparently got stuck in HK and was sent back to Flywoo. So now they have my drone and my $322. Not cool lol.

Cell phone towers have never bothered my GPS or Tx, even when I am out over a mile. Dopler radar towers dont effect me either.

I would like to see a competition where there's a set list of features such as digital video, RTH, and less than 250 g using the same battery specification. The goal would be flight time and distance. I think this product could be as popular as the concept of Kabab's toothpick. I'm not good at freestyle or racing but I would definitely like to be able to see things and go places but not have the government breath down my neck.

I ordered this over a week ago heard nothing then i emailed them only for them to say they can not ship with the batteries I ordered, that if I want it shipped I have to pay extra for shipping. It took me emailing them to tell me this , and there was nothing saying that when I ordered it online. Then they say they have so many orders they cant keep up, I'm not too happy with this company!!!!
