Based on the driver installed, the "counterfeit warning" is for the FTDI (this is the manufacturer) chip that converts the USB to serial for the ODB chip. There was a big kerfluffle a few years ago when FTDI changed their driver to look for counterfeit chips and ended up getting a lot of false positives on genuine FTDI chips. This earned them a big black eye in the Arduino community. Nothing to do with the ODB chip that actually talks to the car.

Yes it is. All you are doing is changing settings in the modules. Nothing with the ECU

@@AutoDad How do I go about doing so electronically. Do you know the app I should use? I am not as savvy as I should be. Never done this before but I believe you can steer me in the right direction.

I would have purchased the wired adapter then. I know you need to first connect it via Bluetooth before anything will work

ok thanks ii have to get my dial shift knob replaced by the dealership but didn’t know if they would void my warranty? i switched out my steering wheel to add cruise control so didn’t know if they would say anything?

That is strange. Can you select "no" as an option? What does it tell you then?

@@AutoDad it goes to demo mode at first then that's what it says. And it gives me to options like it wast different persons key. I was wonder it I should uninstall the key and redo it. I have no clue.

I would just switch it out of demo mode and it should be fine
