A series of 3 short videos showing my best settings on FSX where I do NOT have a super water cooled system and get 35 to 110 FPS consistently

I just want to help other people get the best out of FSX and I am not claiming these settings will help everyone!
I am also not claiming to be an expert on this. Just trying to help :)
My System Specs:
Intel Q6600 2.4ghz
GeForce 8600 GT WITH LATEST DRIVERS
3gig RAM
Vista 32bit Ultimate
FSX Add Ons:
TrafficX
FSPassengers
FSRecorder
REX Weather

Hi, cold and frosty. I just want to say a huge thank you for publishing you settings here on the tube. I have had loads of trouble with fsx crashing but thanks to you I think my troubles may be over. The only add-on that I have is fs passengers but it's early days. Best wishes, Jet Flashman.

its actually the SP2 that enables multicore usage..FSX Acceleration is just a re-package of the service pack and some more missions and aircrafts..

Hi, Very nice helpfull video! I got excatly the same specs except i have 2 gigs of ram I have everything on medium/high. and my traffic to 40% with overland and wilco and pmdg models like 20/30 fps... But you have to low settings wouldn't make fs make look to ugly?

Hi Is there a way to set up your origional screen on FSX on your main screen, and then put a GPS system on a second screen?

Up until SP1, FSX was a single threaded application. This is why it had so much trouble uncompressing all its textures. I ran it on my 2500K without SP1 and a single core didn't push the gpu past 30%. Installed SP1 - CPU running full and GPU pushed to about 65-70%. Still isn't going as far as I'd like, but maybe it's just my setup.

Hi, thanx for the fantastic video! I have got World of AI Traffic addon installed, but I don't know how to scroll down on the FSX inflight screen. I click the right button on mouse then select Air Traffic and it gives me the list, but sometimes the list is so long it displays till the bottom of the screen and I can't scroll down to view the others. How do I scroll down? I would appreciate it if somebody can help me. Thanx

Hello I want to ask you I got I7 2600K and Asus Board and Asus GTX 580 1.5GB I run my FSX I got frp between 105 and 120 I put unlimited is that mean good point ? because games is running very well no problem?

Hey Mate, My FSX is having a bit of trouble at the moment, everytime i use and at the middle of the game, it will crash and a window will apear with a message saying " Microsoft Flight Simulator Encountered a Fatal Error? " its the first time I've had this and i have reinstalled it and everything but its still the same. what do u think is wrong with it?

what i found out was that the water effect setting is the thing that makes mine lag and the max .2x setting is the same as the high.2x they both look the same and so does the .2x mid setting try one of those setting i would say the mid setting for those slow computers and the other thing is the light bloom in the graphics setting and uncheck that light bloom box i hear that it can really take out your fps

I got a Nvidia GTX-280 I think its 1GB graphic card, and a 3GHZ Quad processor and I am more than satiesfied with it.

ok so my computer it gets really glichy when i take off and land like REALLY REALLY glichy how would i fix that lower the fps to 20? i put the traffic all the way to 0 and it still does it and i think i have the same computer as this guy any tips? i havnt tried this yet because i dont have time right now but do you think it would fix that problem?

yeh the unlimited framerate is very stressful also to my laptop, im thinking of getting 8600 gt and a whole computer ill build, 3.1GHZ amd athlon 64x2 4 gb ram and i stay with xp for now till win7 comes, and um well on this computer i see that unlimited frame rate differs bad graphics cards, see my tower controller u cant see anything outside, also my advanced animations dont have anyuse since the wings of my 747, all the wing parts have three layers that are flying ontop of each other

get 9600 gso 1 gb by xfx cuase it comes with a 3d mark vantage card and also cod4 if u dont got it :P i got it hahahah and i love it so much im jsut so eager to install it already

Actually FSX by itself does not support multicore processors -- however -- FSX Acceleration is essentially a service pack that enables multicore utilization... I see you have Acceleration, so you are indeed getting a speed boost from your multicore system...

fsx can utilize upwards of 200 cores if it had the processing power to do so....

SOB, damnnnn I have 256 MB of Video/Graphics like you but how the heck did you get between 60 and 110??!!! Mines only up to about 20FPS Lucky does the settings here you showed are the best to have great FPS?

I finally got a new system just waiting for my psu bfr i said i wanted to get the 8600 GT not i got the 9600 gso 1 gb sli ready 4 gb ram sli ready i have xpack win xp for now untill windows 7 comes out cuase i got a win xp copy for my b-day i asked bfr but lol i cant believe i nvr used this thing in like 2 years :P so yeh love it but i have amd athlon 64 x2 2.9 ghz :) fking awesome man.... so if u paly online waht is ur user name for fsx???so i can meet u up online... pce

lol dude all i can tell you , i have updated trying each update from factory, to first update ever, and ive tried every single update, but its just that my graphics card is just way too low, its like not a gaming laptop so lol this is why i'm thinking of building a desktop for gaming, bfr i started with a asus am2/am2+ socket, 8600 gt low profile 512mb, 4 gb ram, 3.1 GHZ dual-core amd processor, win, xp for now, IDe HDD, to same things just oaprtts changed, the ram brand for cheaper, 9600 gso...
