A series of 3 short videos showing my best settings on FSX where I do NOT have a super water cooled system and get 35 to 110 FPS consistently.
I just want to help other people get the best out of FSX and I am not claiming these settings will help everyone!
I am also not claiming to be an expert on this. Just trying to help :)
My System Specs:
Intel Q6600 2.4ghz
GeForce 8600 GT WITH LATEST DRIVERS
3gig RAM
Vista 32bit Ultimate
FSX Add Ons:
TrafficX
FSPassengers
FSRecorder
REX Weather

Top Man and a modest one. I now use these vids to reset my settings in FSX and made copious notes. Everyone knows how hard it is to tune those settings and he's generous enough to give you the reference point to start - saving many hours of experimenting. It's a stable start foundation. Cheers bud I'm 61 and still keen.

Enjoyed all three tutorials. I always believe experience cannot be substituted by theory and you have shared a lot of personal hard testing with enthusiasts. Thanks for the help. For all the frame rates video i watched this help me the most. My frame rates use to be 2.3 to 4.5 now its 20.2 to 30.1.

I just copied your exact setting and the difference it has made is brill its like i have a litte higher end computer lol. especialy flying paywere aircraft. Many many thanks been so frusterated with my comp. ive also subscribed.

@coldandfrostymorning Thx mate for your help, man my system struggled to cope with FSX... But thx to your now my system runs perfectly smooth and these new settings (Which are the same as yours) have yield befefits like added effects.

Nice one dude. Followed your three vids, before it used to stutter and behave unpredictably, got about 30-40fps on HP Pavillion laptop now, though I only tried these settings on the first glider mission, I'll still have to try normal planes with these settings, hopefully should still be as stable.

Thank you very much ! ... i used to have many option for maximum and i got 35 fps or something now i've have almost same settings like you (light bloom and lanse flare ... i have this thick ) and i havent seen any difference in the way it has look but my FSX've running much better and fluently :) ... sorry for my english but I've been hot after this vid :D 5/5

Excellent series of videos! I'm definitely gonna give your tips a try. Have you experimented much with your road vehicles setting? I've seen some guides saying it can be a big hit on performance; They recommended no higher than about 12.

i have 8600GS and i put all the settings that you recommended the past settings were 8-15 frames now 28-36 frames. not that bad but thanks!

yeah i know, project opensky's 737NG windows don't really appear on dx9, but dx10 it does, also IFDG. but can i still re-install dx9? or is dx10 permanent?

You say you hav traffic X, i used to hav traffic x until i discovered World of ai and even though you have to download each aircraft package at a time the planes r alot more detailed than traffic x and the landings are more realistic so i suggest World of ai. Your video helped alot though.

My Frames/Sec is between 19 - 25 with those settings. Does that mean I can set the graphics a little bit higher ?

lol sunny full acraft density well its real funny on 100% i tried once on my laptop, not a great idea lol lets just say to everyone that ITS GONNA HEAT UP, and u cant even communicate the tower since he's talking to 50 other planes lol
