Hi deady. Fair play to you mate , you've give something a go it wasn't for you so your moving on, nothing wrong with that, i admire your honesty. Thank you for helping me make my mind up of getting into the HGV Industry, best thing I did was take redundancy from my old job and go driving, i was really depressed in my old job to the point you are talking about and once i had left it was only then i realised 75 percent of my depression was caused by my job, im much happier now. The brain is a very funny thing and everyone ticks different, alot of people suffer and its good to talk about things. All the best with everything.
I’ve been on CBT therapy myself and I found it extremely beneficial for myself so hopefully it will help you Gareth. I’m still struggling some days but I can now focus on tasks to get me through the dark times, plus I’m starting on lorries soon so the final goal is in sight. Keep fighting and pissing of the haters.

Deady ive watched you for a years, I've been class 1 since 2007. Ive pulled bulkers to tankers to boxes, past 5years ive been a hgv instructor on and off, ive been a general builder, a dj and now I'm in hospitality and leisure as a manager. Soon to be shifting professions again going back into driving then building again. Its great being multi skilled nothing worse than being a 1 trick pony! Nothing wrong with mixing it up, as long as the ££££ keep being earned its all that matters and feel sorry for the ones that hate but only know 1 trade.
You got to do what's best for you mate I've been in some really dark places myself so I'm glad you had the courage the reach out and get the help you need no matter where the channel goes from here ill still be turning in to watch best of luck deady

Deady just do whatever makes you happy mate. If it’s a career change, moving house, even things like that can improve your mental health being closer to family and friends. If the HGV industry is not for you then fair enough. You’ve been honest and i can’t fault you for that. Onwards and upwards mate, your still a young bloke and got plenty of years in front of you to have a career/job change. Go to night school get some qualifications and move on. And Deady. Mate sounds like you were burning out, absolutely amazing you have changed your course. Always look after you. There will always be haters, remember, it’s them that have the issue.
All the best in your new venture Deady. I can relate and sympathise with your mental health and often wonder if the social media exposure and negative comments are a real influence on your wellbeing. You need to let the Hayley the trucker thing go, keep quiet and move on as it doesn’t paint you in a good light. The plumbing thing could be a good move for you but the building industry is tough both mentally and physically and can be dangerous too. Working conditions will vary wildly and can be as bad as it gets on some sites but at least you can be home every evening. Remember that your college courses are just the beginning of your learning and you’ll need about 5 years on the tools to really know what’s what. Bathroom refurbishments are satisfying but they can also be a real pain as the work areas are cramped and you can have very demanding customers. I’ve been in the building game as a carpenter for 35yrs and your vlogs have been a great source of information for me in becoming a HGV driver. My back and knee and some arthritic fingers are causing me too much pain on the tools and the desk job I have now isn’t for me either. Out on the road driving a HGV is my new career path and you’ve provided some excellent information on how to get into the industry. All the best fella 👍
Just like many that have commented on your vlog, your HGV vlogs got me into the trade. I will not unsubscribe as I have a lot of respect for the bigger man that says "it's not for me" I am almost in my second year of the job and still love it. I know it is a way of life and some things will be sacrificed for what I do. I will still follow you as I enjoy your personality and passion for whatever you are doing. Big respect for your honest and your openness about mental health issues. Too many people aren’t. Don’t give changing jobs a seconds thought. It’s about you, and no one else. Have you thought about walking away from social media too? It’s very invasive and it really does mess with your head! You’re trying to find what pleases and suits you. Not the haters and trolls who won’t be happy, no matter what you do. Give it up mate. All of it. You’ll find it will lift some pressure and even more grief from your shoulders. Hi Deedy. I was in a similar situation a couple of yours ago. I'm not trying to compare mental health issues everyone is different. I'm in bolton and I used one point for my therapy/ counselling a guy called Winston. Winston changed my life at the time no reading from a script just reading me and where I was at at each session. I used to be thinking I've got nothing to say this is going to be a wast of time today and within minutes I would be opening up and my emotions would come flooding out. I still use the techniques Winston showed me and they still work. All the best Deedy. 👍
Sometimes it’s nice to focus on yourself and be free and single. No headaches just till you’ve focused solely on yourself and your in the right place. Holidays with friends is key.
I feel like I'm listening to my son, he's so much like you in many ways, he's done lots,including helicopter mechanic in the navy, nothing but happiness at work is his priority, it spills over into his personal life, happiness is essentially the only way forward. 👍

@@Nickbaldeagle02 that’s fine mate but you’d better get used to starting work at 3am in the morning and that includes bank holidays and even things like Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Not too mention working 70 hours plus a week. If your married or have a wife and kids, you might as well get a divorce now.
@@matty6848 not every driver does 70 hour work weeks bud. I’d say most don’t actually as now days companies worry so much about losing their op licence. I work for a big supermarket and if we are out more than 11 hours there ringing me to come back they hate hate going into a 15 hour day unless last resort. If you don’t like working 70 hour weeks tramping find another job
@@matty6848 nope. Got my eye on a 1-3pm start. Don't mind the hours. 70 hours at £20 an hour. That will clear my mortgage. Kids have long moved out. After 20+ years together me and the wife aren't exactly in the first flush of youthful love

Good on you! I did the exact opposite, I did plumbing first then moved into HGV's. I am contemplating moving back again as I often take annual leave to fit bathrooms/ carry out repairs and I really do enjoy it!

Admire what you’re doing Deady. I’ve juggled through several different industries, now in a builders merchant, but am relief driving there, got offered so much C2 tipper work, but I just didn’t find it would be stimulating enough. To be honest, the hiab work, multi drop, mixed site and residential work, it’s far more stimulating, yeah it’s not class 1 but keep the brain occupied. I always know I’ve got a trade behind me I can turn back to! Best of luck whichever route you take

Hi deady. Im leaving the plumbing and heating game after 12 years and going into the HGV industry. Your vlogs have played a part in my descision. If it doesn't work out then it doesn't work out, and i will go back plumbing. But im at the stage now if i don't try something new then il always look back and regret it. @@danflynn4242 No mate, haven't done class 2. I went straight for the class 1 due to the new licence changes. I was told by a few hgv drivers who have been in the game a while to sack the class 2 off if i diddnt need to do it, and go straight for the 1.

1st step is admitting your struggling. Your doing the right thing seeing someone for the support. Sounds like you if you go back to trucking you need multi drop day work. Like in your 1st days. Keep yourself safe & if our paths cross I will buy you a drink
I took the leap working for myself 15yrs ago, but if your willing to put in the graft, it does pays off, need plenty of luck along the way, hope things work out for you..
