Awesome driving. Awesome driving! Please keep driving and getting faster. Please. It was just awesome and inspiring to see you put it down. And ... sorry for using awesome too much. ... and nice car BTW. God bless and stay safe!
Indeed, I've come close to selling my S2000 few times. Had a cammed C5 450whp vette and then some at the same time owning the s2000 in an attempt to dethrone it. S2000 stays with me other cars sold to make way for a companion car/keeping the S.
@@titusrome2863 sometimes your favorite car isn't the most popular or greatest on a spec sheet, but the car that appealed to you personally the most whether that be by sound, feel or appearance. I used to own a 400hp r32 gtr and also got a few chances to drive my friends 600hp r32 gtr, plenty of modded STIs, FD rx7s and out of all the cars ive driven, ive personally enjoyed an nb miata, integra type r and a r32 gtst the most. They weren't the greatest or most specced out cars by far but for me they really stood out and had their own style individually. I haven't been lucky enough to drive an s2000 yet but i've heard so much great things and it might be in the near future. 😁
She drove well and her car looks great, but it was not her first time, she said it was on this video but there are videos of her on Willow Springs before in the past, even a video of her crashing her FRS at Willow Springs before her dad bought her the Supra.
Two very likable competitors and an impressive showing by both! Also the video as a whole was setup in an enjoyable way that kept me guessing on who was actually faster that day. Very cool!
If you put same driver as s2k in Supra Supra will run circles around s2k , this woman is not experienced and first time on track, this is obviously skilled experience vs noob with fast car
At 50 seconds into the race. You can see Matt takes that turns much noticeably faster. I struggle with that turn a lot IRL. So it’s impressive to see it at that pace.
I love both of these cars and I can see that it would take a lot less work to get better lap times out of the supra vs the s2000 for sure. Definitely different purposes when they were designing the cars, but it's nice to see the s2k still holding up.
I've got a beautiful '00 AP1 S2000 in New Formula Red. I've had it for 14 years, as well as '18 NSX pictured left. I love driving the car. The fact that my almost 22 year old car is still in the conversation says it all....brilliant little car.
S2000 still relevant compared to modern cars. I sold mine a few months ago. I’m already miss it. I own cámaras, m3s, and by far the s2000 is the best. Hp and torque does not make the car fun. In my opinion the s2000 is an over engineered car. That will stay relevant until electric cars take over the world. A true classic which will be worth 100000$ in a few decades
I’ve never really noticed Honda’s S2000, until my brother bought one and made it stupid clean, no big wing and no crazy body kits, just rpf1’s and lowered, not slammed or bagged. After seeing his build, I starting appreciating the S2000 more and more!
@@rayclaudio4141 Every other s2000 has big wings and bodykits, the one I'm taking about is pretty much stock on the exterior with a different front bumper. I love simple and clean builds, I hate extra things like huge wings and bodykits.
@@bige7186 I like widebody too but I just want to appreciate the stock look. In my opinion s2000's are great looking stock already, especially the ap2 with the front lip.
This year, I had the hardest decision to make between buying my first sports car, a '21 MK5 or an '06 S2000. What really made me buy the the S was the constant feedback that it gave me to improve as a driver. Granted, it's not for everyone as it's not the fastest car on the lot, but you are greatly rewarded for every incremental change in skill.
@@misterle7026 Naaaa......I attended plenty of TransAm, IMSA series events watching Corvette racing, Camaros, mustangs, challengers racing over the years. Love it.
The s2000 is pretty slow compared to today's cars but man... is it the most fun, well built, most connected car I have ever driven. The combination of the nimble chassis, high revving engine, and top down is just bliss of an experience on a nice day. I love nothing more than hitting 9k rpm on a twisty road shifting from 2nd to 3rd back to 9k rpm with a heal toe back to second -repeat. OK. I'm taking my ap1 S2k out for a drive right now haha.
Same here. Sometimes I eye up more expensive cars, Porsche and the like but they are just not worth it the extra over an S2k for my net worth anyhow.. Also the s2k roof comes up and down in 10secs, most other cars take far longer. That's a great piece of engineering by Honda on that roof also. As a convertible it beats all other convertibles unless you are willing to pay 2x for something much more expensive..
Yep, pre 2004 APs burn oil by design and is normal. You never want it to run dry and if you wait for the oil light to come on then it's already too late.
Great video. I have an AP1. The new Supra is tempting to buy, but I would have to sell the S2000 to make it happen and I just can’t bring myself to do it. The S2k definitely could use more power, but living in California there’s no way to legally do it without buying some old used F.I. kit. That’s one of the only reasons I’d even consider the new Supra.
Honda S2000 2L NA going against a 3L Turbo 380 horses Supra, Good job! Btw, i love the difference between how the 2 engine revs sounds ... Honda NA high revs Vs Toyota's Turbo-charged. Very difference, but both very alluring. =D
He won because Honda is best in terms of handling and overall package. They are just refined machines, horsepower ain't everything. But who knows, the guy has way more experience on the track and it was the chick's first time so.
@@kylegordon9523 theres homestead but its a straight away track, i don’t think theres any course tracks here 😭😭😭 i think in west palm beach they might have one
S2K is one of the best cars I've ever driven. Close second to my RX-8. REAL CLOSE. As for this competition, ol' girl put it down. She had NO experience and put up a nice fight against a driver familiar with the car and track he driving. I hope she sticks with track drivin and grows to be one of the fastest out their.
@@TheChocolateChamp sorry for the late reply. I had it for 7 years. Close to 140K miles. Same engine. No issues. Heck I traded the thing in for Mazdaspeed 3 and got some good money for it (had my first son).
s2000 is a great machine, but same driver same experience, i think the supra should win this battle. give the s2000 some forced induction like the supra and that would change the outcome back to s2k
@@misterle7026 I ain't the one that boost up Toyota in Reliability terms, when there's others that also does better in Reliability. Besides that, everyone should be glad that Supra didn't turn into a Minivan or a Small SUV ,like the Lancer . Which it's stayin' in it's front engine , with Straight 6 , and Rear Wheel Drive Form. Which it should be.
I think that this was the perfect opportunity for a new driver like Hannah, I wish I could have been in her shoes. And I bet that she learned a lot that day
Both drivers did amazing. That Supra is a awesome car. To me the S2000 is truly a weapon that I wish I could have in my shop beside the other Acura's and Honda's. Waiting and watching.
Hondas were always ahead of the game light years before. The double wishbone suspension was based off of the formula 1 cars. Why Honda got so much hate in the 90’s? Because they were always N/A
I agree with Matt. Hannah deserves the "W." Gotta admit, though, with the Supra's hp advantage it would be tough to beat if Hannah had the same level of experience at Big Willow.
tough? orr impossible? she has almostt double his hp hahaha. Even so, she did freaking incredible for a first timer! I think she's got potential to one of the fastest drivers around if she puts her mind to it
she did great! experience definitely played a big part on this just knowing the brake zones, took my a90 here did 1.45 on stock tires lol, still trying to learn how to track a rwd coming from a fwd and awd
love the idea of this show but wish it had more in car unedited driving footage. or someone reviewing the driving dynamics of both cars instead of trying to hype up who beat who
It has been cracked literally 7 days after posting this comment. The people that cracked it doesn't want people reverse engineering their work so they are holding it till theres a competitor(someone else who cracked it) or if everyone in the car community comes to a gentlemens agreement to not reverse engineer their work. Mission performances a bunch of B*tches imo. Supra's such a small market, why they gotta worry about losing such a small business.
Impressive hot the S2K got the W. I could the Supra making up time on the straightaways due to more power. Would love to see a higher HP S2K and how well it could do against the Supra.
Both cars are nice and both drivers did well, but I don't get why she said it's her first time at all there because she's driven there before and there's even a video on RU-vid of her crashing her new FRS before her dad bought her a new Supra.
