Moose Man- hey hanks for the comment, I have a few other videos on how to install those tanks however I can't promise the same results on a 1100 (nice bike btw) I'm not to familiar with the 1100 frame set up to much, most of my work is done in 750's and 600's. I would check out my other video on the tank installations on the 750 and 600 and see what solution might be best for your frame set up first. Maybe you might have to use a combination of both setups?? Good luck with it man, rubber side down brother, and hanks for he comment;)

Looks good. The tank looks good. Though the springers take away a lot of the sleek look. Maybe take those off and replace them with struts. Just an idea. If you're going with sleek, use the VT600 softtail. The paint job looks absolutely amazing. Keep up the good work.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
Thanks for the comment, I agree those 600's are pretty tasteful when it comes to sleek and a petiteness factor, when I got this 750, it was almost buried in the ground. I had to retap almost every major hole in the bike and it seemed there was a problem around every corner I got a screaming deal on it though so I couldn't pass it up. It had some hard struts on it when I got it, the way they were put together I'm surprised no one killed themselves, I did a lot of years doing concrete and packing drywall, didn't care a lot for the hardtails (guess im not hardcore!!) so I went back to springers....painting the bike was the funnest part about it for me(at least on this one) Thanks for your view and insight!

@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
FamousByFriday - I actually found it after I saw this message in the spam folder, sorry man, google wouldn't send a reply either. I appreciate the kind words brother. I do so many different things (seriously) most of them aren't depicted on this channel. I'm sort of a "jack of all trades a master of none" I tell people not to worry about subbing (and I actually mean it) for a few reasons; 1. Not trying to get rich. 2; I'd hate for people to get videos from me they have no interest in (feel like I'm bothering people, and I'm respecter of people's interest's and privacy) so I'm going to have to start another channel or something!!!! Some people like motorcycles, but not everyone likes bows, trains, cycling, RC, history, music and what ever else, probably shouldn't worry about it, but I saw a lady up in Alaska doing other video after video on random stuff, and it was weird to me... I was thinking in my head is here a theme to your channel? Ida know, trying to figure out how to handle this channel in he future. Hope that helps some;) have a good Christmas!

How is it that the bikes tank is so upright? is it just because the frame isnt really between the split of the tank? Sorry if this is a dumb question, ive been wanting to build a bobber and i really like the look/shape of this one here.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
Cheh Mendez - Hey man, this particular bike has a nasty square top tube.. horrible design, but I don't think Honda intended anyone to really see it. These types of tanks are designed with a saddle in the middle to accommodate a round top tube, check out my other video explaining how to install this type of tank, it will make more sense to you. I hope this helps some;) thanks for he comment!

Absolutely mint build. The seat alone is top shelf stuff. I'm interested in the acids wash treated fuel tank on the other bike in your garage. Could you point me in the right direction for that process. You do great work. Show quality indeed man
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
Thanks so much Scott...appreciated! the tank is a wash from a product called "Blacken it" (eBay/Amazon) you can paint it on with a normal paint brush and one bottle usually does the trick. you'll have to make sure the tank is clean and free from oil, then I would take a really light grit sand paper, as light as you can find and sand it down (you don't have to, but I'd recommend it). after that, I would clean the tank with a simple dawn dish soap and let dry. take the "Blacken it" and paint on, now it works fast, so you'll have to work it around as fast as its setting. The longer you leave it on the darker it gets, if it gets too dark you can always take some of that same sand paper and scrub it down and reapply. I would honestly try it on a piece of regular steel first to see how it works, then sand it down to see how removes, this way you'll get a feel for it before you apply it to your tank. It doesn't work on some metals like aluminum so I would do your research first before you buy (some guys have aluminum tanks) it will, however, work on most and those pandemonium tanks. hope this helps and have a great day!

The tank that you bought brand new did you have to seal it inside ? I have a project going on right now on my shadow spirit and I already bought a new gas tank the same one on pandemonium tank new steel tank, and I'm worried about inside of it .I was searching on line regarding sealing the tank and 80% of the People says seal it. How'd you do it and what kind of chemical did you used? And regarding your cylinder where did you place your battery? Coz you didn't mention on this video if you place it inside the cylinder only the wiring and the fuse and everything. Thank you and Mahalo.

I love it man! Question on the carb filters. What size filters? I'm sure you had to reject it also, what size jets? Killer bike man.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
clarence jacobs - Hey thanks for the comment, not sure actually on the size of filters, I sorta just form fitted it with that corrugated steel that's on it. Best thing to do is just get semi close with a pair of calibers. The rubber on the filters will give a little to stretching. The kit I used was from DYNOJET. It was a T-1183 stage 3, if your going straight in and out (air pods with exhaust with no baffles) you'll need to buy extra jets along with that kit. A "134" for the FRONT and a "138" for the REAR head. ("Thunder mountain" will probably have them or "jets are us")Groove needle on 4 (with a spacer) most of those shadows you won't need to drill out the slide. Hopes this helps some;)

It didn't bother any one else that the tank is higher then the bars?
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
jaycub adam- 2 of my friends will side with you on that, the flipped and down turn bars are what racers used to do back in the 30's and 40's for their board track racers, it was a cheap alternative to get them at a lower position. This bike is a belly pusher for sure. Thanks for your comment;)

I'm so glad to find a good looking 750. Most bikes I see on RU-vid that are bobbed have been 600. But I really like that Pandemoniac tank, I think that's what it's called. I hate the stock tank that comes with the 750s and have been looking for a slimmer alternative. I really like the ones TJ has but they are a pretty penny. I was wonder if you can give me some more info on that tank and also was curious on what you did with the air box and the 2 smaller air filters you got.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
Thaks for the comment, check back in a few hours I'm in the process of uploading some "how to's" on tanks for both the 600vlx and 750 spirit, I'm just trying to give people some better options for these bikes. As far as the stock air box...complety gone for the most part, I used a small portion of the intake hoses from the carburetor side to give me the 90 degree angle and then overlayed them with some steel corrugated hoses off of a semi truck to lengthen them to the airbox side. I attached the air filter pods just by sliding them over the steel hoses and clamping them down. you could use a size smaller piece of PVC pipe to connect hose to air pods as well if you need to (best to slide the air filters over the hose/something or whatever you use as not to restrict the air flow right?) hope this helps!! Thanks for your comment!

@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
Chevy Man - it's kinda hard to describe over the net, but the best way I've found is to use brackets and springs they sell on eBay/amazon....ect, even JP CYCLES/Old bike barn. And if it's a 600cc you'll have to make a bracket that spans the two rear bars and weld it to the frame. The bracket will have to drop down about 1-2 inches depending on your weight (hopefully this all makes sense) this way it levels your seat a little more other wise you'll have a seat that tilts way forward, especially if your using 3" springs If it's a 750cc you'll need to weld on some posts to the rear cross bar back there so your springs will have a platform for them to sit on, I actually used a grade 8 set of cut in half bolts with tacked on upside down nut and washer so the springs could sit ON the washer if that makes sense. Hope his helps some, thanks for he comment;)

I noticed a few of your bikes have the speedometer removed. Are they removed or just relocated or replaced by something smaller? If removed did you wire in any LEDs for the oil and water indicator lights? Any tips regarding this? Thanks for posting videos of your bikes.
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 6 лет назад
I know some guys that relocate the speedometers, you run into cable issues if they're still not attached to the forks or triple tree, they have kits that you can purchase or you can fab up your own brackets to transfer them to another location. a lot of guys relocate the speedometer down by the side of the engine out of the way and what have you, but like I said you run into the cable having stretching issues..I'm kinda old school, so I dont use one or any blinker/oil/neutral lights, but you can essentially relocate all of that yes.

Hey I've watched a couple of your videos, and you've got a lot of sweet rides. I've got a stock 2008 Shadow Spirit that I want to Bob. I really appreciate your advice on the Pandemonium gas tanks, and I noticed that they're priced reasonably! Seating and leather accessories are my biggest worry at the moment. I'd like to get a pan seat set on springs like you've got here, but I'd also like a back seat with a sissy bar and a single saddle bag. Of course I'd want all that stuff to match, so I'm wondering where I can get those things. Have you got any advice?
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
you can find most anything on eBay, but you know.....you do pay for what you get. I made all of my things from scratch steel and leather, it takes time for sure, that's why a good seat will cost a bit of cash. Old Bike Barn has got some good stuff on their books just google them. there are a few other good places as well just have to do some searching, just remember doing customization always has a price to it. Hope this helps! thanks for your comment!

I'm sure you could, but you'd have to deal with the computer in the bike as well, Its kinda like mixing Toyota parts with Honda, could be done essentially, but is it worth the work? are you thinking and old magneto system?

So I'm looking for a seat like yours, maybe without the stuff on it but just a single seat, any ideas?
@bannanapancake
@bannanapancake 7 лет назад
Anthony Miller - Thanks for the comment, I always liked the older Indians and Harley's with the tractor style seats , but I didn't like the bulkyness that came with them. So I styled this one which is smaller and narrower and less steep angles to the originals.. that's the good thing about building your own. I don't know if you want to find one that looks similar? Or just more of a standard pan?? You can find a lot of good pans off of EBay or Amazon. You can also check "old bike barn".... TJbrutal customs has some fun parts as well. Finding a semi-styled tractor seat might be a little difficult, that's why I wound up making this one. I hope this helps some. If you have anymore questions just drop them by;) thanks;)
