Sooo as a few of you guys have pointed out and we have now realised too after doing a little more research, turns out, you cant trust everyone on facebook market place and the diff is NOT an LSD.. So we replaced an open diff with another open diff... ahh well, cant win them all, at least we learnt a few things along the way... anyone know of any TRUE LSDs laying around??

I dont mean to be that guy but the first thing I would of done is pulled the cover off to check the condition of the diff. Well at least the next change will be quicker

the moment you pulled the cover I thought WTF that is not a LSD, and I wouldn't go any lower then 3.55 ratio with a 5speed.

Hi Guys You need to tighten the link bolts with the car sitting on the ground otherwise the bushes will be live (under tension) this is the case withany suspension with rubber/ urethane type bushes

hi Another good idea when installing diff bushes is to use Loktite "" bearing mount """"Shaft Lock "" . Easier to press bush in and ensures bush is fully attached to mounting . part no 232 med strength brown colour

hi Bush removal fire and burn out rubber cut shell air chisel press tool --threaded bar and caps INSTALL ,,,use Loktight Shaft lock works as a lube and holds bush in real well , its only for filling in marks in housing and equals a light glue only .

Guys I just did all the bushes and ball joints on my HZ front end with a universal ball joint removal tool from Sydney tools. Cost 89 bucks and worked so good. Made light work of removing and fitting all the bushes. Great value tool. Get on it!

hi LSD diff o/haul diff gears need lapping for quiet and good readable markup patterns DIFF CENTRE new cones /spider gears/springs/ plate/ new cross shaft and new case bolts or Trutrac 28/31 spline with optional new axles

Like get a centre built and pop that in your nicely painted housing,,You cant know everything. I've learnt alot from watching you blokes.... You guys are grouse.😉 thanks for making these vids. I have collapsed the old rubber.bushes in with a drill then used a chisel.tp.collapse.the the outer shell in ,in my Commodores. In my VY SS Commodore I used a propane torch to burn out the old rubber bushes in the front & rear control arms after I drilled them out to save time in 2012,all of the "new" bushes are polyurethane bushes. The car has done almost 120,000.klometres since I did that,I did that at about 250,,000 kilometres & the car is coming up to clocking over to 368,000 kilometres now. As far as the HQ master cylinder goes, they can be honed out then rekitted !

can run a drill bit around the inside of the bushes till the rubber comes out, then collapse the outer shell and out she comes. And tip with older master cylinders, when your bleeding don't go to the floor, it'll usually push the dirty/rusty bit off the shaft you don't normally use through the seal and kill it. You guys could prob buy a vacuum brake bleeder.

Bad luck boys, but entertaining nonetheless. For your bushes, run a holesaw through the rubber/eurothane to take the centre part out and then a hacksaw cut to split through the outer case. Out in 5 mins. If you get an LSD, just swap the centres over - not the whole diff (especially now that you've done bushes and brakes).

Hi guys so my diff used was a mace true track toque locker lsd The center cost me $675 you use your origanl crown gear and install it onto the lsd it’s a process setting up the diff though shims etc it’s all fun though !

To fit the shock mount bushing, heat hole and freeze the bush then weld it in.

G&G Technics do a mini press, perfect for ball joints and bushes. Been using one for years, as well as my SP tools master pull push kit. Hope that info is helpful

Quick tip to check for a slippery dif hold one axle and turn the other if it turns it’s not a lsd

hi LSD in OZZY 10 bolt first lap pinion and crownwheel ensures quiet and good pattern when marking up .no matter what centre u use . OVERHAUL factory Lsd new cones and spiders ,cross pin ,preload springs and spring plate setting pinion height and crown wheel side clearance will take 2-3 hrs if done properly OR Eaton trutrac 28-31 spline ,,31 requires new axles

Your welder needs the amps/wire speed adjusted as your voltage is a little bit to high, use a hachsaw to cut a slit in the bushes and they'll come out easier

Bowden's is good shit particularly orange agent. I have used it for basically everything to clean my cars and it works great. But the only problem is you can't really use it in the sun otherwise it dries and can leave a white chalky residue.

Great vids guys. But why are you not upgrading the whole rear end ? Disc brakes Coil overs, etc?? Those stretched holes where the shocks go are probably like that because the previous owner did many burn outs. Don't be surprised if she whines like an old EH diff. Good luck !!

WHOA guys next time with you puller tool use the biggest bolt you can,high tensile and coarse thread and don’t bother welding the nut onto plate just hold with a ring spanner they strip less and easier to change if they do

buy some high tensile stud bar closer to the hole diameter size, use some grease on the threads. You wont strip the threads.

hi Always lube poly bushes ALWAYS .Because some ingredients of poly bushes degrade badly with oil based grease USE RUBBER grease . Those pins u installed need lube badly .

Hi RTS on a HZ had rear swaybar .HZ has slightly more agressive steering which tries to flick the rear end therefore s/bar rear. A HQ steers better without s/bar as a HQ needs the bum to wobble to help steering .
