So the “help me” voice sounded female and in one of the first teasers it talks about people closing down a diner, one of the female workers gets taken, the voice you heard was a female voice. Coincidence? I think not, not to mention every sound we hear of the monster seems to be it calling out for people to come to it “help me” trying to bait people and the alien sounds we heard sounded like human voices trying to bait u into coming to help what you think is another human needing help
@@MKfireandice592 to each their own. Dredge aesthetically is one of the scarier killers, and Singularity as well, though this would tie more to the fact that they're inhuman.
Skin Walker possibly. The voice is the thing im relating it to the most. They always have a voice thats not fully human and sounds like its trying to mimic noises it heard. Typically they lure you in by asking for help. Disguising themselves as the person they kill. Sometimes using their skin as a meat suit in some tales. The voice, it crawling, and it being in the woods make me think this. Im on the fence about it though as they typically will disappoint with these hints. They have done it numerous times with other trailers. Itll probably be a generic crawling ugly monster not based on anything.
Due to the pattern they have managed with the Killers, I also consider him to be a Skin-walker, the last ones were sci-fi with SM, Singularity and Xeno, the current one with witchcraft being the case of Chucky the Voodoo
Shouldn't a skinwalker be able to mimic himself into people or other animals? because that doesn't seem like it could pass for anything in nature, in appearance or anatomically
@@Austin_Meadow In some folklore they can also disguise as animals but they never are correct. Always switched versions of them. Necks bent at odd angle and twisted legs. The only issue with the skinwalker suggestion is that the monster has multiple mouths with skinwalkers and wendigos never have. It's 100% not a wendigo anyway but people are speculating it. The details don't fit unless they are making their own lore for their own version of a wendigo. But the killer is most likely just an OC monster with inspiration from The Thing and skinwalkers.
@@Helperishere But then, if this monster doesn't appear to change its appearance in any way and the only thing it can "imitate" is barely its voice, I don't see what the relationship would be with a skinwalker beyond the forest, nor would the name make sense, and being crawling most monsters are, I researched and the native regions of the legend of skinwalkers are in completely distant places in America, it is much more likely a wendigo
imagine if the killer was not actually slashing the victim in the tent, it was literally planting itself against the victim viciously to assimilate itself to the victim till it becomes one with it.
That's John Carpenter's "The Thing," but a previous teaser almost wholly discredits this theory (I admittedly thought it was The Thing at first, too, due to its body horror and second mouth with teeth sprouting out of its back). In a previous teaser, it is seen with a dead victim, and is mimicking the voice of its already dead victim to lure another victim into the woods. If it was assimilating victims, it wouldn't be mimicking the dead victim without first having absorbed and assimilated her.
To this day, The Thing is the only movie to truly scare me. @@aetriandimitri190 Finally, someone who knows what a skinwalker is. Bet most ppl think if it's a Wendigo it should have the deer skull & antlers too lmao
The creature’s mouth looks similar to Chatterer from Hellraiser. I think this is Behavior’s own original monster inspired by the internet’s misconception of Skinwalkers. Or perhaps inspired by the Rake or Fleshgaits. I hope we see more killers inspired by folklore and cryptozoology.
@@pewienczlowiekag3111 I said it 'reminds' me of a volatile, not that it looks exactly like one. I have hundreds of hours on both games trust me I know that doesn't look exactly like it but it has a few similarities for sure.
THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYING THEY PORTRAYED GENUINE FEAR SO EXTREMELY WELL- FROM THE SCREAMS, TO THE BREATHING GETTING A LITTLE SHAKIER AS THE TENT UNZIPS. *Chefs kiss* Magnificent. Still feel really bad for the guy tho...
0:36 You literally hear it say "Help... me..." In a distorted voice. Like it replays the sound of its previous victims. If this monster is just a predatory animal, that would be awesome.
Well i dont know if u've watched MADE IN ABYSS ..... But there was a creature in it called CORPSE REAPER which used to scream HELP ME in the voice of the people that it ate... So that anybody comes to save that guy but its the creature thats making the sound
So this killer probably mimics the last words of their victims which knowing that when he said "help me" it becomes way more disturbing because that's what someone said before they were killed by "this"
This is not even remotely close to a skin walker. People just call anything creepy a skin walker now. Most skin walker legends just have them as regular people wearing pelts of animals that give them powers, hence skin walker
@lemonosis Fleshgaits are what people are thinking of, they are the misconception version of Skinwalkers that were name-changed out of cultural respect. I'm no expert, but as far as I understand: Skinwalker = Native American folklore. Human witch at their default form. Can transform into animals, sometimes humans depending on specific folktale. A skinwalker can transform into any animal by first wearing a pelt of the animal in order to properly transform into said animal. Fleshgait = Early 2010s Creepypasta creature that derived from the misconceptions of skinwalkers. They were never human, and usually take a horrific beast-like form as their true state, but can mimic/shapeshift into humans and animals with ease. More cryptid-like, and definitely more in line with the inspiration for this chapter.
This teaser made me legit jump with the jumpscare and the killer looks gruesome Well done Behaviour Excited to see this thing in action action, and may it be as terrifying as this teaser
People have said that for years. People always get lured in by trailers thinking "NOW THIS is gonna make dbd great again!" Like when people thought the first skull merchant tease meant a cyborg. But after a few weeks its just gonna be another killer getting looped for 5 gens
@@BlitzoTheClown1the creature will not be very scary after getting 50 billion flashlight blinds and pallets dropped on its head after being looped for 5 gens. I wish the scary nature of DBD retains but it usually dies out
@@Sir_SquidThat's not unique to DBD. There's a reason there's knife only RE3 runs with ppl dancing around Nemesis like they're at Studio 76 lmao. It's just the nature of familiarity and desensitization.
Now that bhvr is doing a found footage monster type chapter, I hope they eventually dive into analog horror. They’d have to do it right though, which unfortunately quite a bit of analog horror series don’t.
it sounded like it was saying " help me" before tearing our unfortunate friend likely into parts... but given its murderus nature seemingly ..i think its like a Skinwalker where its just imitating things its heard before..like the predator in avp ..... in some stories people who are attacked by skinwalkers hear the voices of loved ones... like forexample..think ..your walking alone..nearly a whole state away from your family in the woods..and you hear your mother or father or sisters voice..asking you to come closer..
Also, have a habit of predicating things that will come to dbd, i did that with perks like overcome and potential energy. I always conceptualized an eldrich abomination, with sporadit and fast movement in dbd, which also explored the feeling of the uncanny valley. It seems this killer is literaly IT. I guess i equipped the premonition perk IRL
For me its skinwalker. It tries mimic voices it heard and even says Help me in the video. Wendigo looks more like a deer ( yes I know there are also human-like wendigos ) but mostly wendigo is recognized like a deer and skinwalker as a person what looks just like wendigo but not a deer. Aswell we can see it opening a zipper which is another proof because skinwalkers know how to open doors etc. And also do human acting or animal like stuff ( walking on legs and hands). It can be wendigo/skinwalker but made by dbd version.
You do not know what a skinwalker is. But ye definitely going to be a cryptid of some sort, i doubt its going to be any real world cryptid like skinwalkers, bigfoot, or chupacabra, but rather behaviours own creation
Was the teaser made IRL or in a 3D program? Cause the tent looks weird like it was made in blender, the movements are like animated but the pretties skinwalker looks real
first thought that came to mind was that the still photos remind me of the movie basketcase. really good cheesy comedy horror movie! i’m excited for this.
im just so happy we have this style of teasers back again, leaks ruined the expectation and fun rumours/theories we all had for YEARS and it brings the community together, we needed this.
@@tfcbioshockIt'd be fascinating if they played around with the idea of an unseen killer whose "cosmetics" were audio cues instead of physical outfits. I'd be fascinated to see their take on the original Blair Witch or Death from Final Destination with that approach.
@@tfcbioshock I'd imagine the killer would be a possed victim of the witch, and each clothing cosmetic for the killer would be a different possed victim.
@@tfcbioshock Maybe some kind of distortion on the map or something, I'd imagine the power of the witch would be like this: She uses her power on a survivor, and sends you to her domain for a few seconds or minutes, in her domains genarators and survivors don't exist, your alone, so genarators and survivors are invisible to the player, and the killer also becomes invisible, and to come back to the real world you would have to find her cursed segil and destroy it, and hitting a survivor affected by the witches power would bring them back to the real world since the killer and see them, also the survivor that the witch used her power on would become invisible to the other survivors who haven't been affected by the witches power, and then there would be debuffs and a little reward for killer for using there power, like Sadako who can Mori a survivor after using her power a lot, it would be an annoying chaotic, but honestly no idea really, the Blair Witch doesn't have a fisical form so we never see her, if Behavior ever makes the Blair witch a killer they will have to be creative like when they made the Pig the killer instead of jigsaw.
It makes me think of a mix between the wendigo (until dawn) but the voice sounds way too familiar with the Shibito (Forbidden Siren/ Siren blood curse) and that's terriying
I'm very hyped after seeing this. As an avid camper, that teaser is truly terrifying. BHVR is truly great at creating some horrifying videos for their characters.
I hadn't been paying attention to any teasers (or DBD in general) for longer than I thought, so this teaser popping up in my feed was an EXTREMELY welcome surprise. It is the only teaser that has genuinely given me the chills. I cannot wait to play this horrid abomination from the darkest sun.
is there potential it could be wendigo from until dawn? i dont think they look too disimilar. also the wendingo from until dawn are humans who got transformed so could explain the trying to communicate. just a thought.
The marketing for this killer is some of the finest work they've ever done in DBD's history. All the different teasers revealing more and more culuminating in this banger of a trailer is an approach I hope they lean into more in the future. Also, ending the trailer in silence instead of the traditional DBD theme was an incredible touch. It leaves you sitting with the horror and wondering what you just witnessed. I'm so excited for the PTB on the 20th and to finally know what this killer's all about.
Why didnt this come out with Lights out? That could've contributed to the horror aspect of the event. This clip looks absolutely terrifying, looking forward to the PTB
Guys, I don't know but it's obvious to me that this is a collaboration with the "in silent" game. The map in question will be the campsite, the fact that he can only hear through sound and speak with the voice of dead people is the main thing in the game, and look at the monster in the trailer: tall and skinny white man with blood on his mouth. I don't know guys, but it's clear to me that this is a new collaboration (sorry for my broken English, it's not my first language)
