As a Latino that has listened to Ozzie give his point of view in Spanish, people took the Castro thing out of context. That level of sarcasm is perfectly common in Latin America where many of them sarcastically "admire" Fidel cause of how long he's been in power without being overthrown by the people. Ozzie hates communists and people like Chavez and Castro's but he didn't realize that type of language doesn't fly in the U.S. it isn't an issue with sensitivity of the U.S it's just differences in culture.

Venezuela is a complicated place. Guillen was right to call out Penn. Penn is an ideologue, Guillen is a realist. Guillen knew people's lives were getting progressively worse and to hear a dude come out and defend the person doing that to your friends and relatives? of course you're gonna tell him to fuck off and that he doesn't know shit. Guillen honestly vindicated by time on that one look at Venezuela now compared to then. 10 years ago a Venezuelan Bolivar was worth about $0.25. Now A Bolivar is worth $0.0000012262. Every single person in that country with cash savings has been ruined.

I also explored this topic on my channel. Tbh, i sincerely doubt that his Castro comments have lost him managerial opportunities outside the state of Florida. I think it's more due to the fact that most front offices nowadays seem to go after puppets who will do their bidding. Obviously, that's never going to be Ozzie Guillen. And aside from the 2005 championship, Ozzie wasn't a consistent "winner" either, or as much as a baseball manager has to do with actually winning ballgames. It would be entertaining to see him return to the White Sox, especially now that TLR is finally gone. Honestly, I'm surprised the Angels haven't made a run at him considering how much of a joke they are 🤣.

Honestly, the Fidel comments have nothing to do with Guillen not being able to get a job. Plenty of people have praised Castro before and haven't lost their job/got suspended. I feel like the real reason is the fact that Guillen is a very old-school manager and does not use analytics. Still a great manager in my opinion.

Not sure he actually earned the coveted title of “most offensive man in baseball,” but he sure took his best shot at winning it! I liked Ozzie a lot. However there was a point, especially with the Marlins, when what he was doing seemed far less about him just being real and unconcerned with hurt feelings and correctness, and had become a character he was trying to live up to. The authenticity was gone.

As a Sox fan I feel that they need to be piled on more for just being a terrible franchise who doesn't invest in good players or in their minor leagues to produce good players.
