Welcome to another Fishy Friday! A few weeks ago I visited the fantastic fishing community of Grindavík in Iceland. The fishermen from this community go out fishing in small boats. You almost wouldn't believe it, but you will rarely find more than one fishermen on a boat. With lines they hunt for the best cod & haddock.
Right at a windy, but beautiful beach I prepared a pan fried haddock fillet with a (I call it a) sauce Provençale and some roughly mashed potatoes. This easy, but delicious dish will take only about 15 minutes to prepare. In normal conditions that is. It took me more than an hour (hahaha!!) due to the fact that it was so windy that the fire of the stove was blown out all the time. I love outdoor cooking!

Yum. They had some lovely looking filtes at the store and i looked up some ideas online. I did not have block olives or rocket, so i made the souce without the olives, mash without rocket and made a side of pencil thin asparagus shoots for a green. Delicious. Thank you.

Screw the safe confines of a kitchen. This guy cooks on the beach...lol. Great video. And that looked like the sort of meal I would pay good money for in a restaurant. I'm making Haddock this week, and your video gave me all the tips I need to make it great.

When your burner is working well, I agree..:). This episode took us over3 hours because of the heavy wind. But is ALL other occasion: YESS, nothing better than outdoor cooking!

Bart - another video that was both wonderfully entertaining and delightful. I've enjoyed coming across many of your videos and always think how I would love to travel to these places to catch, cook, and eat my own sustainable seafood.

Really nice looking recipe, love to eat haddock rather than cod from the chippy, think i'll have mine indoors or wait for spring, enjoying looking through your channel, glad Jamie Oliver pointed us in your direction. Bart's Fish Tales turned out great. Made a couple additions/substitutes, (add sour cream and rosemary to the potatoes & and went with butter lettuce for my greens) However, kept to the recipe for the fish. That sauce put it over the top. Thanks man!

Although I prefer my mashed potatoes pure with some sheep fat if you're going for authentic native style

well mostly you just pour it all over the plate, some people will add some caramelized onions as well, but that's not for everyone

Loved to find you out through Food Tube. Subscribed !. A small request, if you can name some substitute for a given fish, sometimes a particular type is not avail in US as in Europe, or North Atlantic or Pacific compared to South. (I'm lazy, you can google [$ANY FISH] substitute and get an answer, but nothing coming from the Fish Tale Expert !. Congrats again, loved you channel.
