The only thing on Evaporust I could add is that I've found that after it's been used for a while - if you leave it for a couple of weeks, all the dark material becomes sediment and can be filtered off if you desire. What remains continues to be about as effective as new. You can see this in your solution at

Always a satisfying feeling when you make something so old look a million times better. Must be real rare I haven't seen a metric one yet! Nice job!

Beautiful work. I had a Diamond Calk & Horseshoe adjustable wrench in similar condition that I cleaned up. Metal is pitted but still works as great as the day it came from the Duluth, MN (my hometown) factory. Thank you for a wonderful video!

Great job Magdad!!! I've got 2 gallons of Evaporust sitting on the shelf in my shop. Wire wheel , Evaporust , and rinse then wire wheel again.

Thanks for the education on evapo-rust. I've always used vinegar but a product the brings items back from dead and buried looks like a miracle .

I love Evaporust. I used it on my '64 C-10 front suspension components. I also used to restore older hand planes. soak, clean and use denatured alcohol to prevent flash rust. That Metric Craftsman wrench was rusty! I love restoring old tools. Been watching Scoutcrafter and he mentions you a lot. Don't feel bad for polishing the jaws! That wrench will be in service for years to come. Great video!

A year or so ago, I had a similar tool I soaked in Evaporust and had similar results. I have used Evaporust before so, I put the tool on a plastic container poured in the Evaporust closed it up and set it on a shelf and forgot about it for a couple of weeks. When I opened it, the tool was black and covered with something. I washed it off in hot soapy water and sure enough it looked great, not perfect mind you but a keeper. I enjoyed your video, thanks for sharing, yea Evaporust.....Ken

Saving too far gone tools is the best! I think this one was well worth the effort and made for a great video.

Nice job in saving that wrench. I have not used evaporust but it sure looks like it works well. Love pegboard, I make my own customized tool holders out of wood to suit my needs. Very flexible. Thanks for the video.

I've done the same with a Bahco brand adjustable wrench I found among leaves in a gutter on a flat roof. I used electrolytic rust removal, and it freed up the mechansim practically on its own. Just purchaced 25 litres of Evapo-Rust, since the elctrolytic rust removal takes constant work.
