It's also fun to have them explain how the universe is not 2D if that is true and demonstrate to demonstrate how planar (2D) logic works when we can all demonstrate how it doesn't... even with the mere ball on a string trick with either a tube or ring. Also, have them explain how that whole wall of ice thing and why nobody can justify it despite any kind of global conspiracy to cover such "truths" would take more money and resources per second than the world can even create if even most people cooperated in such a conspiracy. When they bring up the "Illuminati", remind them that that term applies to generally any secret society nowadays and that there are now hundreds of them and they compete against each other more often than they cooperate so fiscal and physical superiority (leverage) is still needed... so none of them really control the world... just the super-rich who everyone sees all the time do. We just don't completely see how they do it.

“It is against the law to interact with dolphins unless your at an aquarium, zoo, theme park ect.” That’s probably because dolphins aren’t exactly a peaceful or gentle animal. It wasn't on the screen long enough to read, but tuning really is a debate amongst musicians. Tuning to 432hz vs 440hz isn't saying music is all one note, it's referring to the base frequency of which all the other notes are ratios. Pythagoras, who spent a lot of time on the mathematics of music, set what we call the A note at 432. A lot of the way we tune instruments is a compromise to ensure that they can sound *pretty good* at any octave or key, rather than having to retune for every particular piece of music.
@finnmcool2

I saw one of these that called for "using the power of the 11th harmonic" but didn't say harmonic of which note so I couldn't gain the power. ugh. Why does stupid only hurt others?
@poccripeardew4750
@poccripeardew4750 2 года назад
Waiting for someone to comment this. Like playing an A at 432 vs 440 does make a difference in the note itself. But in the end you also tune to the instrument: if you tune every note at 440 for instance it changes the way it sounds and you need to sharpen/flatten slightly to make it work and sound nice and even dissonant, so not every note will be tuned to 440 for example. This is why we get some "pure" fiths and others "narrow" This is equal temperament and is the same reason music is bullshit and are ratio to like...the twelfth root of 2. Because for some reason we liked fiths but could never get a pure octave in fiths and we are collectively stupid because we did not do math right the first time. This is a joke btw but yea it's just a based frequency and that stuff.

my question is: ''hertz'' the standardised unit to measure frequency, was not fully established up until 1935 how did Pythagoras had access to a means of determining which notes were at exactly 432hz, and how can we know that for sure? say that he was that good mathematician and reached the exact the number by chance how the information of the frequency that he used have been preserved through millennia, what was the recording method here? that is a honest question tho, I sincerely have no idea how those things happened
@Natt_Skapa
@Natt_Skapa 2 года назад
@@matheussanthiago9685 Pythagorean tuning which is what they're referring to is a tuning system. Tuning systems work with ratios so back then you would pick a random frequency then build up all the notes using ratios. So there was no need for hertz. Also that is what they are referring to when they say base note; the base note used to build your scale.

The whole hertz thing reminds me of a scientific study done on cats that I read several years back that was trying to understand why cats purr when they're injured or why they'll press against other cats or humans who are sick and/or injured and came to the conclusion that there's a specific type of purring cats will do that comforts, soothes, and speeds up the natural healing process in themselves and potentially others. I've no idea how accurate it was but I did find it fascinating. I had a cat as a teenager that would climb in my lap, lick my tears off my face and then press as much of himself against as much of me as he could and purr like a chainsaw whether I pet him or not. It was very comforting but it could be the same as someone just giving you a big tight hug when you're falling apart. Anyone else heard about or have any thoughts on this? It is a lovely thought
@barrylangille3523
@barrylangille3523 2 года назад
I've heard of this and like you I don't know how much credence it deserves. One practical thing about cats and them purring under stress though. Since the purr is a social communication among cats that indicates a willingness to be approached, it's my feeling that an injured cat that is purring is less likely to lash out than one that's not. (Purring that is) I'd still be careful since things can change fast if you hurt the critter trying to help, but you can at least get close with some confidence.

Recovering from pretty much anything involves a lot of effort from your body. Stressing about things also requires a lot of effort from your body. Therefore, anything that reduces stress (Pain meds, antihistamines, good food, rest, music, etc.) frees up time and energy your body may otherwise be wasting on stressing yourself out to focus on recovery, even if it's that big tight hug or the sound of a pet expressing their affection/ support/ concern providing psychological instead of directly physical relief. Laughter may not _technically_ be the best medicine, but it _is_ a damn sight better for you than the alternative. ;^)
@neoqwerty
@neoqwerty 2 года назад
@@BoojumFed Another thing proven to relieve stress is, weirdly enough, angrily complaining about things. And the wonderful thing is that it has an empathic component, so people getting together to bitch about things makes us humans happy. But yeah IIRC that study and follow-ups confirmed it's healing is limited to the cat themself, but psychologically us humans just got trained to enjoy purring. (Reminder, cats domesticated themselves and are constantly training us-- they WILL find the best way to demand things and not get ignored, up to and including using a meow whose pitch is the exact same as a crying infant, that causes an instinctive response to protect and tend to them.) As a side note, there's a website called Purrli (com) where the webpage has an adjustable randomized purr (with adjustable meowing options!) and it also causes the happy brain juices.

1:10 if that were the case, we’d be dead. Yes, the skin absorbs things, but only SOME of it. In that case, that’s why we use things like carriers and the like, or binding agents. It helps ensure things that may be harmful if absorbed to not do so; think like how you take activated charcoal if you’re poisoned. Plus, some of the stuff we absorb may actually interact differently once in the body, when it’s broken down. Yes, be careful about what you use and what you eat, do a patch test before going full hog with a new product, but that does not mean go all natural. Plus, natural stuff can be dangerous. Otherwise, organic cashews would be fine raw, or naturally sourced cyanide would be fine.

In this case Zalewski, supposed author of a claim, has a PhD in geology. Aaaactually, only _certain_ things absorb through the skin. Usually simple molecules. Pure nicotine, for example, is a contact poison. It'll readily absorb through the skin into the bloodstream and kill you. I know of 3 other examples, ones of current interest: methanol, ethanol, and isopropyl alcohol. Methanol, the smallest of the 3 molecules, absorbs through the skin more readily than ethanol, which absorbs through the skin more readily than isopropyl alcohol [which is a molecule larger than the previous two]. This is why hand-sanitizers that have methanol in them … and yes, methanol has been detected in cheap hand-sanitizers from certain countries … are dangerous. Methanol poisoning can lead to blindness among other things. I'm guessing that regular use of hand-sanitizers contaminated with methanol causes cumulative damage. Our bodies are designed to metabolize ethanol, however. And at the quantities that get absorbed through our skin, the ethanol in hand-sanitizer isn't gonna have much of an effect on you. So those are the ones you want to go with.
