Thank you for watching our ear wax removal video today. The ear wax extraction featured in todays video was carried out using endoscopic microsuction. This procedure uses a small camera called an endoscope to visualise inside the ear canal whilst a small suction tube is inserted to gently remove ear wax.
We can also use other tools to remove hard ear wax, foreign bodies, peeling dead skin or for ear infection removal.
All the ear wax cleaning videos you see on our channel are carried out by our ear wax specialists Mr Rhys Barber and Mr Taylor Green at Audiology Associates.
We post new ear cleaning videos Monday - Friday at 9PM GMT so if you find ear wax removal satisfying please consider subscribing to our channel.
Ear wax plays a vital role in ear health. It helps to prevent ear infection and helps with ear cleaning by picking up any dirt or debris that accumulates in the ear canal. Normally this ear wax would fall out of the ear taking any dirt or debris with it.
How to remove ear wax?
Many people use q-tips/cotton buds for ear wax removal at home this is one of the worst things you can put into the ear as this can lead to an increased ear wax buildup or in extreme cases impacted ear wax. The best way to remove ear wax is to let your ears clean themselves and not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ears!
How do I know if I have an earwax blockage?
If you experience a change in your hearing, discomfort in the ear or jaw or a feeling of fullness in the ear canal you may have an ear wax blockage. Our advice is to speak to your Doctor or local Audiologist who can take a look in your ears and assess whether ear cleaning is needed.

I enjoy the medical terminology mixed in, it does keep one oriented that these are real medical procedures. I have to add that I think your energy is amazing, 20 minutes of voice over with no dead air and that with only a camera to talk to. Thank you

I’ve watched your videos for a long time and I enjoy them. I don’t understand how anyone thinks they have the right to tell you how to make them. I’ve never once considered telling you how you should explain things. You offer the viewers free content and I know you want to make all viewers happy but people need to let you do your own thing. Please explain things how you feel the most comfortable.

I absolutely totally agree. I think those of us, who have been with Rhys longer than Taylor even, have watched him evolve. His early videos showed Rhys in the learning RU-vid stage. He was always so kind & patient. Now if we see what we perceive as disrespectful comments, it makes us very protective. Just my thoughts 🩵🩵🩵🩵

A lot of us like the medical terminology. I know I do. Those watching just for the gross pictures probably won't mind what you say, but for those that understand all the parts of the ear and the conditions, having you use the correct terms, relays so much in a single sentence. It's one of the things I enjoy about your videos. You are actually explaining the diagnoses, and how they manifest, not just going, "EWW> Look at this! It's gross !"

I really enjoy both sets of terminology. Crosswords, for example. Latin for bone. Os! It helps, too, in medical situations when the GP tells you your daughter has idiopathic dermatitis, and one can say, “Yes, I know she has a rash. That’s why we’re here.”

Great job Rhys. I think you are doing a fantastic job. I think you should remember that we keep coming back to see you and now Taylor. Great compilation video! I liked the format. Sadly for the patient, that’s the best view of a canal cholesteatoma I’ve seen. I hope s/he can get to see ENT quickly. Finally, unlike other commenters, I can understand how the patient didn’t know the dome was stuck in his ear. I can’t tell you how often I look around for my glasses and they’re either on my face or on top of my head. 🤣
