Please keep covering this one. I already know it’s going to be a hard one for me to keep my emotional bias against her as a mom with her alleged crimes. But. I know you help keep those things in check. It’s hard when I hear from my daughter who is married & lives in the community Vallow Use with her children 😢. Too sad for words 💔

Thanks, Peter! You’re working your tail off, and I, for one, am grateful! Re: the severance… it’s the correct move. Justice is expensive; but that’s no excuse not to do what’s right. The accused-regardless of how despicable the crime-have rights.

We saw how bananas the DA in the Rittenhouse trial was, we saw the State and the judge abuse the constitution in the Murdaugh trial. We saw the judge do the proper thing in the Darrell Brooks trial. Exposure helps get rid of corruption.

Please do keep us informed about this case. I'll miss being able to watch proceedings, but many of us have been following this for so long, it would be a shame to not know how things are developing. I absolutely expect Chad to testify against Lori... not sure why... but I don't expect Lori to testify against Chad. Maybe that means I think she's the "crazier" one of the two. I’m glad there will be no video in the courtroom. I don’t think I could stand to watch one more minute of Lori smirking and smiling with ZERO acknowledgment that her kids were found dead, burned and buried in Chads yard. No tears. No concern. Not a care in the world. It’s beyond infuriating. 🤬

Error! The document said Charles Vallow is Lori's first husband. He is actually her third (her 2nd died suspiciously too). Also, Tammy is a deceased wife, not an ex-wife.

Severance was the right thing to do. The prospect of conflicting theories of defense and the right to a speedy trial make it necessary.

Thank you Peter. The prosecution is to blame for the severance, it’s been a problem from the beginning, they couldn’t or wouldn’t turn over evidence. I really think the defense on both sides are playing games with the state, working against them. This case will go down in the books. Peter, the charges against Lori for the death of Charles Vallow are in Arizona not Idaho. Charles Vallow is Lori’s third husband not her first husband

The only thing the prosecution did wrong regarding evidence was fail to hand over all versions of paper notes that were summarized for them electronically, a careless but relatively harmless error. The defense wouldn’t allow them to test the dna until the court decided on defense motions by detailing how and where the evidence would be tested. Then the state lab took an insanely long time to test the evidence. There was a good chance of these trials being severed as a soon as Lori was deemed incompetent for over 8 months. The prosecution was basically in a no win situation from that point on due to the legal games you just saw. Where the prosecution erred imo is continuing to fight it rather than accept it earlier to be better prepared for two trials.

Omg these cases are SO CONFUSING, and GROSS, yes they should have been separated. Omg, these are beyond awful, worse than Murdaughs. These were their small children! I can’t express how disgusted I am.

I watched the trial of Ahmoud Arberys murder- three men in one trial. The third man’s attorney seemed to constantly have an uphill battle to protect his clients rights It was never clear to me how this works. He was repeatedly denied a seperate trial.

If they are still married they don’t have to testify against so that will be interesting. This is such a sad and gruesome trial. Not sure I could follow it on TV. It is fair to sever them. I agree. Sometimes fairness isn’t as efficient and it costs more. But if we’re not fair…our courts don’t have meaning. Thanks for all your work Peter.

Definitely agree 👍🏾 that they are separate individuals presumed innocent until admission and/or proof of guilt and that they are entitled to the rights of that presumption as individuals. There will be points of overlap tho, will be inevitable, and imo this will inevitably slim down the jury pool to 'a very particular few' given the publicity thus far. Thanks Peter
