I believe Sean has the great potential to do something with his life. Where is the line drawn? Cait Cher Being “cheap” is why Rod has a lot of money. He is careful in spending even though he has a large family. He has an excellent management company and he saves and invests a good bit of his huge earnings. Rod is not cheap, he’s smart. His son, Sean, has had problems, running with the wrong crowd, and quickly spending nearly every penny of the money Rod gives him. I wouldn’t call Sean a dead beat. I think that he has lived a privileged life because of his father’s great status, and he is use to having few responsibilities and not having to work for money. Most of Rod’s children have done very well for themselves. However I believe many of Sean’s poor choices are due to alcohol and drug consumption (made very easy to acquire with the money he was receiving) and his choice of “friends” who probably took advantage of him and encouraged him to make the choices he made. So he ended up with addition and chemical dependency. He had to go thru very tough rehab, and every day following is very had for a post rehab person to stay clean. Maybe I have sympathy for him because I watched my daughter go through the same addiction issues, spend a lot of time in court, and do a lot of community service, She also spent 3 or 4 weeks in jail. It was terrible. As a result we no longer speak or see each other. Contrary to Sean, Jennifer had to steal money to get drugs. So when you are criticizing Sean please take into consideration the relevant circumstances.
P.S. I love Rod too. I have been to many of his concerts and meet him in person. I have many momentos. I have been totally crazy about Rod since he first sang “Maggie May” in the early 1970’s. He’s different from other Rock Stars in that he doesn’t scream over loud music, but rather he actually sings so that you can hear every word accompanied by extremely talented musicians who have been with him for years! At 72 years old he’s still performing for age diverse audiences. What older people do you know who would enjoy a Bon Jovi or a Journey concert?

I went out with a girl from a very wealthy family. She used to be taken to and from school in a limousine. One thing I sensed was that she lacked the social and moral compass we poorer people forge out of our daily struggles. jrbleau I come from a wealthy family.. it's not fun to be honest.. having to live our lives the way we are told to. to keep up on the family reputation. not able to be ourselves and let loose and just enjoy life. life to me is not about riches. I have never lived off my family.. The only one of 6 children. I've struggled I've been homeless I worked 3 jobs. I met a man a hard worker who also struggled. now we have a child a home to call our own and happiness. ide rather live my life getting by and happy then to be accepted from my own flesh and blood. I'm now considered the black sheep of my family. It took me awhile to break out of my shell socially because I was raised a certain way my whole life. The more I surrounded myself with different type if crowd..(acceptance of who I am) the more I became someone I always longed to be.. humble and happy. I guess what I'm trying to say.. is I'm very glad to hear your not envious.. there's nothing to envy. not really anything great to be honest. it's a lonely life
I would guess that it depends on the family. Thanks for the insight. A book I read since my post, Ken Follett's "Night on the Water", gave a glimpse of an upper class child being driven someplace and looking out the window at lower class father playing with his child and envying their freedom.

I think Sean is a very honest young man, and he does admit that he owes the money. However, he shouldn't depend on his father, no matter how wealthy he may be to pay his bills. I think it was in poor taste for him to call his father cheap.

Sean Stewart was on Celebrity Rehab for much more than alcohol folks! Go to the Celebrity Rehab wiki and look at Season 2. I knew as soon as he hesitated when she asked him what his addiction was and he said alcohol that it was much more than that. I understand why he only said alcohol though. The reason Xavier waited so long before pursuing Sean Stewart for the training fees, is because of the association with Rod Stewart that gives a good reputation for his company. Suing in court was the last resort when Xavier knew he had no chance of being paid fees owed. Xavier will still offer Sean Stewart his company services for this reason. If Sean Stewart had not been the son of a celebrity, he would have taken legal action much earlier and doubt the case would have been on Judge Pirro.
I never ask my parents for anything. Like ever. I'm a grown woman and work hard, I always have! Kids need to learn how to manage their money, budget, and not spend it foolishly!

This was 9 years ago I think - he was 27 back then. Then again, I'm not sure anyone under the age of 24-25 can really be this silly ("I thought I didn't have to pay for it when training with a friend!") and get away with it.
I disagree with every comment. Rod had two daughters, before he ever got a son. Sean was the son he always wanted. However, Rod, has openly admitted, he left them, and never knew them, leaving Alana to pick up the pieces. The only children that have issues from all his marriages, bla bla, are the ones he left behind, the ones he had nothing to do with. Now, he is all over baby Alastair?? How is THAT going to help his first born son. Making up for lost time? That won't work.

Just because someone grows up somewhat privileged does not mean that they don't have struggles in life. He may not of had to worry about financial situations but emotions throughout his life can be just as hard. I find some judges hypocritical at times. If someone claims financial struggles the judge will say "yeah but you have a family that loves you". Then on situations like this they flip the script.
If he really wants to be independent and be his own person he should cut the apron strings by manipulating his dad name for his benefit and grow up and be his own man before its too late.

First thing I notice when the judge asks how long he's been sober, a slight pause and he swallows hard. Not so sure he is sober. Now he's trying to say, he's training as a "guest" with his buddy, Judge doesn't buy it. He's clueless as to how much he owes. The Judge had to tell the guy to stand up straight and later in this video, again, he's leaning on the podium... this guy is entitled and a mooch off his dear old Dad....Daddy cut the purse strings, it's time to grow up kid. " My Dad Is Cheap"....stop being a freeloader. Alcoholics are very good at manipulation and Not taking responsibility for their actions.
The fact that this young man is the child of a superstar is enough to tell me he's lived a hard life. He has never known what it's like to be broke. He's never had to wonder if he will have enough to pay next months rent, and still put food on the table. He's never had to hold his breath, hoping that the power or water company won't cut him off from the luxuries he knows so well. Some might think he is blessed, but I think he lost out on the happiness and loyalty that comes with real life folks. And I pray he finds that kind of life. He doesn't know what he's missing.

Daddy paid for Sean's girlfriends Bentley after Sean wrecked it, I think Sean needs more help than Celebrity Rehab can give him. That show is for show.. Kinda like this one, only this one has legal consequences. :)
I can understand rod Stewart not jumping to bail his kids out, just because he's mega rich. But I'm glad he did as his son is a recovering addict and the training might have been helping keeping him away from drugs.

That is probably his French name and Xavier is his English name. It is common to have different names in multinational situations, my names for example are Joshua (English) and Michael (French).

im glad it was settled and everyone was happy. Rod Stewart is my distant cousin, meaning Sean is also my distant cousin. my grandfather was in the news paper twice, for this and my aunt and mom were on the radio about it .
