a short video on how to go about cleaning and refitting the O2 sensor. can be performed by anyone with a 17-millimeter wrench and a throttle body cleaner or similar solvents. this helps with better o2 level readings in the exhaust gases and helps with correcting the mixture sent into the combustion chamber. thus an increase in gas mileage and the throttle response is restored.

Good day. May I ask what is fitment for this sensor? Is it M18x1.5mm or M12x1.25mm?

Hey Ben. Today I suddenly got yellow sign on speedometer and I went to workshop. They have reset and it was working fine . Now again I can see that sign. Now they are telling me that we need to change oxygen sensor . I need your help to get my bike fixed

Hey Ben. Great content as always. Will cleaning the O2 sensor help me with cold start issues? My bike gives me a hard time in the first 5 minutes of riding it. The nights here are still pretty cold and it goes down to 1-5 degrees so don’t know if it’s just a function of the temperature...
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN 3 года назад
No friend it will not help . A slight better throttle response and slightly better fuel economy is all that you can expect. Reset TPS and check your EVAP systems condition before you conclude anything. Also use the choke for a good 30 secs during cold starts .

@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN thanks Ben. I watched another video that talked about moving the ambient temp sensor to the front of the bike and adding a booster plug to fix missy throttle and stalling. Not absolutely sure if i want to go that way coz winters only last for 4 months where I am at and then it gets pretty warm. I’ll check out what you said and get back with findings. Cheers :)

@ONTWOWHEELSBEN 3 года назад
@@Kislay_Joshi yes the only way is to richen the mix . A booster plug or piggyback ecu ( I have a powertronic) . And cold starts will be totally trouble free. Also a solid engine that will not run hot .

How can this be done on the 650's? The O2 nut is impossible to get to with a spanner..... also, can incorrect valve adjustment cause this problem of dirty sensor? thank you
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN 3 года назад
size queen fouled / dirty sensor is caused by a variety of reasons . And as far as reach is concerned I am afraid you will have to remove the pipes to get access to the Same.

How do you know it’s an O2 sensor error
@SantanuBiswas
@SantanuBiswas 3 года назад
@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN The Royal Enfield workshop guys checked the error code with DOLE tool and confirmed. They are suggesting to replace the O2 censor but after my experience with them in past one month I want to try this method of cleaning the sensor. What’s your opinion?
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN
@ONTWOWHEELSBEN 3 года назад
@@SantanuBiswas cleaning the O2 sensor is to be done as a periodic maintenance procedure to keep it reading right amount of O2 in the exhaust gases . This will not work if it’s a faulty O2 sensor in the first place . Anyways you can def give it a try to eliminate contaminants on the sensor and see if that does away with the error code . After cleaning you will have to reset the ecu to see if it has worked . For this you will have to take the bike to RE or try the trick from KARMAKAZE MOTO ‘s video on resetting ECU on RU-vid .

@ONTWOWHEELSBEN

you might have not connected your coupler properly , or worst case scenario is that you might have spoiled your O2 sensor .

@@ONTWOWHEELSBEN looking forward to it. .. also just as an idea can you do one on bare essential tools for Himalayan regular maintenance and basic on-road repairs? I am making do with an Allen key set, open spanners and few other basics for now but was wondering whether to add a socket wrench set (1/2 inch) .. and if I do that then can I just avoid the 1/4 wrench set and open spanners as well? It's not merely about saving money but also about saving weight. What are your thoughts?

Spray the same rust remover or WD 40 on to the rusted outside part . Let it soak for sometime (10-15 mins ) and then try . Keep hitting only the nut gently with a spanner to loosen up the rust
