We know times have been pretty tough these days, so to help you pass the time during quarantine (and to thank you for your continued patience), we've decided to make the Patreon Preview for SAOA 15 public. Hope you enjoy it!
The fact they need to pretend to run an airport when they are actually capable of flying is low key a joke I did not expect from you guys! And it WORKS!!!
Leafa in Abridged when someone thinks she’s dating kirito: *gags* Leafa in actual SAO when someone thinks she’s dating her brother: I’m not even gonna say it you know the rest
"I'm sure you have plenty of cousins who'd love to take her place in the ol' marriage bed." Well, it's seems we're having Roasted SAO Original for dinner. Nice...
@@criticalfailure6464 Exactly. I love how almost every one of the jokes SWE make have multiple layers to them; I have to watch their stuff several times over to get everything.
“Did not contain a single drop of blood; his heart was the size of a peppercorn; his lungs corroded;his intestines rotten and gangrenous; he had a single testicle, black as coal, and his head was full of water”
@@trumpetnerd8431 and these guys actually stick to their promises to patrons and fans... without ripping them off for two years worth of donations from thousands of people expecting the Buu arc
Considering how Suguha usually sees Kazuto when he’s not got the willpower to fight back against her, I’m waiting for the episode where one of Kirito’s famous put down speeches starts causing her to desperately try to hold back laughing out loud cause she’s not used to Kazuto being that savage
@@MustacheDLuffy After "legend of black swordsman" became public it would be quite possible people decided to be just like him. You know, some guys might be streaming whole Kayaba vs Kirito duel so they know details like movie references.
@@kontrol42 Honestly that would make so much sense. Kayaba is alive and just casually playing Alfhiem. Wouldn't be surprised if he got plastic surgery and turned out to be the guy marrying Asuna
@@PixieStarr439 That could also explain how Kazuto gets his admin powers in the end, cuz Kayaba, disguised as that guy, gave something to him that unlocks them. Can't wait to see how all of this plays out.
@@PixieStarr439 This is the world where all players are apparently too into Dungeons and Dragons, some of them could get the references. But yeah, so far it's a big red flag
@@benjaminklaassen4722 Well, most systems, even in games' profanity filter only targets cuss words. Since there's no cuss on Kirito's words, the system couldn't find a reason to censor it. In other words, Kirito, uses sass and sarcasm to fight back against the profanity filter.
A thought occured. I suspect Suguha is planning to derail Kirito’s quest for the tree. With all those, you know, “dark corners” to take him to. Now remember Yui’s route calculations that estimate the trip to only take 6 hrs. Given that, and her initial hostility towards Leafa, as well as her threats... I wonder if Yui will eventually at least call Leafa out on her bullshit, if not, well, fullfill said threats to “end” that “thot”.
I mean, presumably she's going to take him to that underground town and it'll be re-cut to imply she wanted him to get attacked, if not by the Salamander squad down there then by some other unsavory types that frequent such places.
It's funny how Kirito went from *'I won't give you the coat'* and *'I used you to lure a bandit guild in my trap'* and *'I'm gonna burn your shop to the ground'* to *'I'm going to defend this girl from his creepy fake stalker who wants to pull a forced marriage on her, which by the way I've just met **_yesterday'_* Character development? F*CKING CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
I expected this episode to be out by June so I knew I’d have something to look forward to Crazy to thing quarantine might be close to ending by the time we get episode 16
I like to imagine Kirito is just laughing his ass off after he realizes this. Or better yet starts to freak out and lose focus in the middle of the raid because it occurs to him that she may not know how to open the menu.
Kirigaya thinking Kazuto would intentionally manipulate her with “puppy dog eyes” is actually an interesting bit. Because it’s ABSOLUTELY something Kazuto would have done in SAO, but now he’s changed. He actually loves and cares for Asuna and his feelings are genuine for the first time in so long.
That's the reason they have less than one child per woman; It's almost imposible to get boy/girlfriend in the first place (Not to mention the "not having time for anything besides work").
In all fairness, I think SWE has it much harder when it comes to copyright/fair use. I wouldn't be surprised if they tied the knot after season 2, which would be an appropriate end either way.
So... is abridged suguha basically admitting that she has a crush on nagata? Cuz honest to god this is already SOOOOO much better than giving her a crush on kirito, nice play you guys did here
Feels like its some bait and switch, the way Kirito and Suguha are in this version just screams UST, considering what Asuna is like in this series too they are very similar.
I do wonder how they'll handle Kayaba appearing in the final fight (if he does at all). I imagine it would be something like *You have one new voice message* "Hey Kirito, me again, you don't seem to be answering any of my messages, but I need you as a character witness for my upcoming trial."
I figured it would go something like this: Kayaba: Kiiirito... Kiiirito... Kirito: wha... what? Kayaba: Kiiirito. You must go to the Daygoba system. Kirito: Oh God, did I die and go to Hell? Kayaba: Aw c'mon dude, you could at least play along and humor me. Also, hurtful. Kirito: Okay, seriously, what the fuck is going on? Because I have to be either dead or asleep to be imagining you here. Kayaba: Actually, neither of those is correct. I pulled a Transcendence. Kirito: What?! So, you're dead, but- Kayaba: but alive, yes, at least thanks in part to a piece of SAO data I kept on a back-up server I proxied off of after our last visit. I mean, it was either this or prison and/or death, so...
If you go to Episode 13 and pause at 14:12 and read the mirrored code that scrolls through Yui's eyes, she does a scan of what players from Aincrad are in Alfheim and there's only three: Kirito, Asuna, and Heathcliff! Dude's probably just hanging out and maybe getting high. The text, in its entirety, is: An objective added: Locate and retrieve parental unit despacito or Asuna Searching: Mummysearch.exe Search radius: Server Wide 8396 players found Defining search parameters: accounts transferred 3 players found Analyzing results Player id: xVx_K1r1t0_xVx_KillMe|| Negative Player id: Heathcliff|| Negative Player id: Titania|| found found Location: Top of Distance: 500 km Estimated Travel time: 6 hours by air Warning: Area is under direct control of game admin An objective added: Kill game admin by any means necessary
So lemme get this straight. Cazmer gets Kirito's movie reference, apparently knows something of vital importance, and is trying desperately to do something that is apparently for the "good of us all." Calling it now, this dude is SO Kayaba who knows what Pervert McGee is trying to do with his tech (Brainwashing Charisma tech) and is likely being forced to roleplay because he (The absolute picture of grace under fire) believes getting one race of fairies together and united will likely be enough to storm the world tree and kick Pervert McGee's ass. Which would be why he bailed so quickly after Leafa threatened to get him "banished" from the realm. Because then all his current work would go to waste and he'd have to start over. I mean, I noticed how Kirito never said his name, so I wouldn't be surprised if that came up in conversation at some point and he was like "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! CAN I NEVER ESCAPE YOU?!" EDIT:
I can see that this guy Cazmer is Kayaba, I mean he's a master of roleplay, since he pretended to be Headcliff and you can even recognize when he speaks in character and when he doesn't. So he using his roleplay skills to not only hide from O-Bear-ron, but probably from the police, would be a great sub plot, if not part of the main plot.
"He's always been more comfortable with screens than swords.""The Black Swordsman doesn't like swords?" I hope this is a set up for an abridged version of Ordinal Scale.
The point is to establish Suguha's disdain towards kirito. She does not understand what he went through in SAO. She thinks it was a game. Not that he was ACTUALLY killing people and ACTUALLY watching people die in his arms. She doesnt get it. And i CANNOT wait for the bridge scene. Because he is gonna call Liefa by Sachi's name. And its gonna hit her that it wasnt just a game when that happens. I cannot WAIT for the rest of the abridged. God damn is it gonna be good
You know...that "The Black Swordsman doesn't like real swords" feels more like a jab at Shino being afraid of and disliking guns irl despite playing in a game full of them.
@@josephharrison8354 And just for character developement maybe she became obssessed with it. And became afriad of herself, so she refuses to be around real guns. And goes nuts in the game.
The idea of fairport is straight up diamonds. Like in a game like this, if it even existed, people WOULD WITHOUT A DOUBT do something like this and thats what I love about this series! Not only are the characters 100% more relatable, but the actual gaming culture and design
Really hoping Suguha’s character arc is something like because kirito was such a scrub irl but she actually was slightly better at life/kendo, the family’s expectations fell on her to be the actual successful child and she blames him for that which is why she started talking down to him and making him the way he is. Then once he got stuck in the game, all the family’s attention went to his well-being and the things she accomplished no longer mattered but if she screwed up, their family would still get mad and now she resents him even more, which is why she calls him a quitter and has no sympathy despite him being trapped for two years and going through life threatening stuff. Something like that idk.
And then, after seeing the desperation he goes through to actually save Asuna (I’d put this after he fails in the tree and dies), her walls break down, if only a little bit, and she encourages him to go save her because if he can’t at least do that, then she’ll beat him so bad that Asuna wouldn’t want to see his face ever again (“not that it was ever much to look at”), her motivation behind this being that through their journey and him calling her out on her bullshit (also figuring out who she is through her bitchy actions), she finally realizes his desperation because I want to believe that despite all the shit she gives him and the pressure she faced because of him, she still loves him (either as a brother or incest time). And maybe a possible reason why Rekon is her fucktoy is because Kirito was in SAO for two years, when her sexual curiosity started. When her incesty love for him started to want to reach the sexual, she couldn’t even attempt to properly vent that, so she went for her first option, because come on, who’d fuck that #niceguy if she had a choice in partners (which she wouldn’t have because of her award-winning personality).
WarriorTech _FTW I really hope that’s what we see. If they go the incest route, I also kinda hope we see a conversation between Asuna and Suguha where they decide which one’s gonna peg Kirito first (cause Suguha seems like the type to be into or at least joke about that sort of thing). Of course, Suguha will joke about how she has the benefit of living in the same house as Kazuto, Asuna will threaten her (like she did Liz), but unlike Liz, Suguha won’t be intimidated, saying that as Princess Leafa, she has legions of subjects willing to die for her and that as Suguha, she could still kick her ass due to her real life abilities in kendo.

@@BenFan-hx6ih wait. Chapter 9 is this week!!? Fuck yeah! Finally some resolution to that "He is risen" cliffhanger. I want to see what ascended Eon looks like already.
It's weird how in the original show Nagata was one of the most forgettable characters but in this show I already ship him and Suguha so hard, and their dynamic isn't even that different. Edit: Now that this is what all of the comment replies are about I guess, Suguha, when alone or in a situation where she lets her true feelings show through, like the roleplaying session, shows that she wants to be a sub. All of the abuse towards Kirito and Nagata is a complete front. People who think she wants to be a dominatrix are missing the point of her character on every level.
I like to think that this Nagata has either a dominatrix fetish or at least one for meek insecure guys. Neither of which is bad or wrong, it’s just inherently more interesting than the original
@@frankwest5388Ah, I see. In that case, I personally don't think Suguha has a dominatrix fetish either, it seems to me that her behavior is more due to insecurities than anything, I think it's implied during her little monologue right before she logged in that she wouldn't be acting like this if she wasn't insecure. Also, if it is a dominatrix fetish that is the cause, then it is inherently wrong in her case, because it's causing her to bully her brother and boyfriend, which is not okay.
I was watching the latest season and I was genuinely confused when he showed up and they didn’t call him Tiffany, I had forgotten that wasn’t his actual name
only reason I can tolerate waiting for new episodes as long as I do is that this show is gold, it has great writers, and every second I'm forced to wait is time they spend polishing it and making it better.
It’s so consistent with its writing. Leafa still can’t curse, there’s still racial tension in the game, the sister is still a fucking monster even with a fuckboy, still in line with she hates her brother to the core, and Kirito’s still a decent asshole. They are phenomenal.

I love the contrast between Suhuga and Kasuto. The fact that she feels like real world and online world are completely different, as well as a cheap excuse to avoid responsabilities; also the fact that she still does not understand Kasuto changed a bit in SAO. In the other side we have Kasuto, who thinks the virtual world also matters and feels responsible at his way about what would happen, because of all those persons he actually lost in SAO (specially Sachi and Asuna).
She straight up thinks SAO was just a game. I cannot wait for the bridge scene with kirito and liefa against all those enemies. I think he's gonna call her Sachi. That'll be a slap in the face for her realizing the mental scars that poor bastard is dealing with
First off! it's KaZuto. get it right! Second. yeah pretty much. atleast we got rid of the infested incest fest that was suguha in the original because tbh that was just the weirdest shit ever.
@@herrikudo Wait what do you mean Suguha thinks it's just a game? In the last episode she knows people died she tells Kirito to people that were apart of it to just get over it.
Demetrius Prime I think they mean that Suguha doesn’t realize the depth of all the experiences Kazuto faced in that game. She brushes off seeing the death of virtual people since she never experienced how real those events were.
@@christopherlin9686 Even when one of his "friends" suffered (and "enjoyed" sometimes) it everyday. Suhuga is, much like Kirito at the beggining of the abridged, the "if this didn't happen to me it doesn't matter" kind of person. PS: Now that I think about it, the whole roleplay she is involved is a clever allegory to the people who fake their lives in internet. Brilliant, SWE.
Hmm, it was Kayaba's shtick. But I'd expect him to act differently around Kirito. I suppose he never did ask the "trash's" name, but it's not as if Kirito's character looks all that different.
@Dennis - the problem with that though is that Kayaba forced them into their real bodies in the first episode, so Kirito looked like he did IRL. The only thing different was the coat and the swords.
@Dennis - You have to remember that while Kirito chose the default character model (which may just be the player's real life body, using the same technology that Kayaba used to force everyone to play as themselves), unlike canon SAO, this game actually has character customization, and it was nearly impossible for Kirito to spell his name in a way that wasn't already taken, meaning there are a lot of Kirito fans running around in this game (or at least players who want to pretend they're Kirito or be like him). So if this is Kayaba, he might just assume that Kirito is another pretender, and not the real Kirito
Does this "Popular Phase" consist of losing hefty amounts of EXP to a killsteal, fusing with a giant monstrosity, and then getting put down with said monstrosity in a blast of light and sound, before resolving all emotional arcs with the people in his life? If yes, then this is a Kazuma-approved "Popular Phase".
I desperatly hope for return of Mr. Dapper, if only because "the protagonist discovers a magic land and struggles to return to his loved ones" is something straight out of a, well, _fairy_ tale.
The overzealous RP players really does explain so much about how serious the gamers acted this arc. I always wondered why a normal person would care this much without the death game aspect of the Aincrad arc in effect
Didn't think of that - you're right it does make the arc feel much more believable. Now that you mention it - adding this to the hjacking an educational game causes it to all fit together. Hardcore RPers are the large majority, because the game wasn't marketed for mass appeal to the usual MMO degenerates. The abridged team turned a spit in the face of reason trainwreck into a reasonable setting/continuity, again.
So Leafa’s role play character is locked into a politically arranged marriage with a sleazy nobleman that she wants nothing to so with... hmmm... SOUND FAMILIAR??? It amazes me how much more well plotted and thematically resonant this show is compared to the original.
it sounds familiar because that's every princesse modern storyarc ever. I have no issue glorifying this awesome abriged serie when it's not a sly way to keep this 8 years old rant about a show that isn't even that bad but was decided as a scapegoat by this community who can't bond over what they like so they decided to bond over what they hate.
please go through with this man! You do amazing work! I remember watching the first abridged SAO and loving it years ago. I decided to come back and check it out today only to find out youre working on it again. I am excited! good luck!
@Zachary Savdié OR, just hear me out.... I happen to love that movie and I might NOT be someone roleplaying a badguy wanting to get all up in Gary Stu's under age sister because she looks good as a blonde! >.>
@@ElEscolta I do too for a number of reasons. I love the movie itself but its fitting for this story. Tristan and Yvain start out by not getting along, functioning more as bickering companions, then friends, then eventually fall in love like Kirito and Asuna in SWESAOA. The conflict is partly caused by a dysfunctional family that sees relatives as a hindrance, royal family and Asuna's dad wanting to pull the plug on Asuna and effectively selling her to the other antagonistic force, being a magical being who wants the female lead for their own nefarious purposes. Like the witch wanting Yvaine's heart or Asuna married to Mr. Oberyn versace. Then near the end of act 2/start of act 3, the hero fulfills his goal of returning home, yet returns to save his lady love because what they have is magical yet real despite having started off on bad terms. I'm not certain if thats what they were thinking with this reference, maybe the crew saw the movie recently or remembered it, deciding to add it to Kirito's collection of reference material, but there are definitely some parallels here.
@loafhero Not really. If you're seeking a commited relationship but other person just wants to stay friends, that's the friend zone. Getting laid only gets you out if that's your only goal.
Mog of War I agree, but I think the implication is that she DOES like him, she’s just too insecure about her own femininity to accept and act on it. So she resorts to using her mouth to tell him in...different ways. Edit: Also, WOW this thing blew up overnight!
