I have osteoarthritis in my knees so I crawl to a chair or table to gently help myself up from the floor. Works for me! Thank you, Susannah!

Thank you Susannah for a great challenge 👍. Have been doing the sit to stand all month - up to 4 sets of 15. But today - the last day in February - I finally was able to do it from the floor to stand 💪. I think I had a mental block, but now I finally got it. Was able to do 10 (5 on each leg). So excited. Thanks to you & this wonderful motivating group 🥰. Will definitely incorporate this in my daily exercise plan.

I want to ahieve this.i cannot sit with my legs sideways as shown. atm. I will practise getting my lunges lower and knees more flexible.. Thanks Susannah for creating the opportunity for me to gain this skill/

Very little cartilage left and a bone cyst in one knee makes this sit/standing move painful. Didn't see your video but I actually tested this exercise today. Hurt too much. Have to stay off my knees of course. Jeepers! I do leg presses at the gym but only with 15 lb and limited reps (few times a wk). Getting older isn't easy. 😊

Hi Susannah - thank you for this video. Like you, I just broke my wrist last week. First broken bone ever…Anyway, this is one exercise I can do while my wrist is healing. Although I may stick with the chair version for a couple of weeks before doing the floor version. I don’t want to lose my balance and break the other wrist!

Sorry you joined the broken bone club Cathy! Definitely take a cautious approach to the exercise. I do tend to do too much too soon! Did you slip on ice like me?

No, I didn’t slip on the ice; I actually fell after colliding with someone on the pickle ball court! And yes, I will be very cautious with my exercises. They are trying to avoid surgery, so I have to be very good and keep my wrist pretty still. Such a pain! Now I understand…

Thanks Susannah. I wish I didn't have to use my hands to get off the floor, but I just need a little assistance there. At least I can get up and down. My question is: what muscle group do I need to work on to manage this challenge without my hands assisting?

Legs and core! I suggest lunges, chair pose, and squats. But how are your knees? I find knees to be my limiting factor sometimes and I need a hand to be sure I don't put pressure on one knee. Continue to practice even using your hands a little. It's still a win!
