@@2001CusinartToaster Ah but you see, that is part of our metamorphosis process. I have been reborn. (watch mossbag's vitruvian grub video for explanation)
@@ArchibaldClumpy But there are some works that transcend even Armond White. Knack 2. A game so good, even Armond White had to get on hi knees and concede defeat. In his review, he wrote: "Knack is back, baby."
now sonic actually is coming back, with the movies, sonic origins, sonic prime, sonic frontiers. there has been alot of quality in the franchise as of late.
@@farawaygaming_ “sonic is starting to go down such a terrible, dark path of awful quality games that i cannot see him rebounding from this slump in any meaningful way” -armond white
@danushe4ka I was just hoping ZekromFury was serious and had an interview source or something. I just wanted a reason to why SonicTeam barely does well with Sonic games.
“Everyone in Sonic Team is going to hell for what they have created here.” Honestly they already were, now they’re just trying to go for the high score in sin before they get there.
No they were about to go to heaven for mania, generations, transformed and the other great modern sonic games but after the hoverboard game... I don’t know
@@danka1167 dude, the hoverboard racing is really fun. Had a blast playing that with my friends back in the day. It's also my first and last sonic game, lol
@0 0 The real question is, would they even dare to go as far as the first one did (which wasn't very far to begin with) or will they dumb it down for the sake of lining it closer to the current Sonic games.
i mean, shadow the hedgehog wasn't really that bad, it was kinda fun, and it actually felt like a fucking game. also imagine a shadow the hedgehog game made by platinumgames in the style of vanquish
Nah, there are good games with GREAT character creators. There are even bad games saved by their character creators, like WWE 2K. Then you have Sonic Forces, which is a bad game with a bad character creator that's STILL somehow the highlight of the experience.
Sonic Team gives me hope. Hope that I can have a job like theirs one day. Give my boss a complete pile of shit, on a silver platter no less, and continue collecting paychecks.
VirusRonsen82 you need some people to make ideas and storyboard, some people to code and some people to do the art portion. It's not really that hard to do, but the budget and time is the biggest thing.
*_Yo, maybe the sword should run on ammo! Because Shadow can't swing his arm after using the ammo obviously!_* -This is something SEGA actually put into the game 😵
Which is quite a damn shame. Sonic games, even bad ones, are known for being pretty beautiful. Unleashed, Colors and Generations all had mind blowingly gorgeous visuals. This would too... if it came out in 2013. It's odd seeing a plain looking Sonic game.
@@SuperWHIIITE it's like seeing prolific British actress Maggie Smith in an Adam Sandler one-off. It's funny because it's unexpected, and because it's such a leap downwards from his/her normal work.
Minumer -people who think that people will settle for something cheap and average with recycled elements after having above average games released from the same franchise
There have been good ones.... just not many... and not all have been entirely good. Some games have been good but have deviated from what makes them a "modern sonic" so they don't count and are in fact hated by the fans of modern sonic.
I said this somewhere recently on a youtube Sonic Force music video I was listening to. Sonic games are mostly a hit or miss to fans &/or new players who played Sonic games.
3:25 for context, Chaos already ate two emeralds, so Eggman actually does have four. But, there's plenty of other lines in Sonic Adventure that make just as little sense as this one appears to out of context. Also Sand Hill is a reference to the actual name of an understandably forgotten level in Sonic Adventure rather than an attempt at a joke, but the line in Forces is still cringey.
Actually no, Mania is not an illusion. What happens is that a few levels are illusions, and a few of them are not. For example, stardust speedway may be a illusion, and Chemical Plant too. The final boss is also an illusion as well. Basically, a lot of illusion shit was happening in Classic's world.
It's funny because the guy from the interview clips is actually one of the few developers on Sonic Team who was aware of Forces' flaws and willing to speak out about it to the team. He was practically begging the management to stop falling back on cliches and let the series actually build off itself, but I guess they decided they just needed to get the product shipped as fast as possible, and then it was his job to go out there and sell it as best he could.
To be honest, if Shadow The Hedgehog ever got a sequel or a remake, there’s only one company I could see making it at least fun to play. That company is Platinum Games.
Originally it was adapted from John Williams main theme for Krypton. Most of the soundtrack for that movie is John Williams work with John Ottman's scores thrown in.
Memeselk well if you actually played the game and not listen to guy named videogamedonkey you would know that sonic forces is a good game and that you are a ship
leroy shane To be fair though, so far the games Nintendo have been releasing have been pretty damn good. The question isn't just policy, but quality of product... which Sonic Team loses on all fronts...
YupimonEvolve I never played Sonic 1-3 and definitely wasn't alive when they were popular, but i have Sonic Mania and it's an incredibly fun, well-designed game. I have no nostalgia of the originals to go off.
Well actually, they’re not even terrible, they’re mediocre. Which is even worse because they COULD have been good but the end product is just painfully average
Or bats. I mean, they don't have to be Rouge-y, but of all the species, they use bears and birds? In the game continuity, the only bear is Bark, who _bear_ -ly appeared in anything, and I guess we have the Babylon Rogues from the Free Riders series for birds? But why not bats, who share a species with a well known character (Rouge) and could cover the double-jump ability just fine. And then we have a ton of other species, like literally any reptile, bees, _foxes, who have been in the series since _*_SONIC 2_* , etc. I'm *really* appalled that they didn't include a ton of species! I mean, I can see why you'd have hedgehogs (I'm sure most people's first Sonic OC was a Sonic expy), but why not the species of the other characters with speaking roles? Maybe not crocodiles, because the Avatars are supposed to be around the same size as Modern!Sonic and Vector clearly isn't, but not bats, echidnas, chameleons, or _foxes, the second Mobian species to be introduced into the series?_ (j3333333z that was a r3ally long r3ply sorry for making you r3ad all that sonic t3am is just b3ing stupid with th3ir choic3s again)
La Volpe oh yeah, let's make a lifeless 2d game... they should fix 3D. They shouldn't go backwards. It's not a Mario game... yeah, I didn't liked a new Mario game, I think it's boring.
I truly don't know how they get away with it. Somehow they struck absolute gold with the character designs and have been riding that high for like 30 years 💀I love sonic but I'm still confused lol
Matthew Pollitt not much really last I heard he has in a livestream interview thing with a youtuber I watch named sachumo I didn’t see it but that’s the last I’ve heard of him
Sonic Mania > Made by fans > Professional in design and execution Sonic Forces > Made by Sonic Team > Everything looks and feels like it was made by kid fanboys
+ThermArt _"they had some balls to even get the fans to make a game for them. They could have just made the game not happen for that exact reason, so I give them props for that."_ Actually, I think Sega _really thought_ they could actually compete with Sonic Mania, as if they were equal in quality.
- there were four level designers for mania who were all experienced in designing sonic levels -Forces only had 3 designers. Two of them had no history in any sonic game and one of them worked on lost world This game was an absolute slap to the face We were waiting for so long The social media team were hyping us up for two years And then we get this shit I absolutely refuse to believe this game took four years to make Odyssey took the same amount of time to be developed and look at how much details and content this game possesses
The worst part is, these are all bugs that could have been fixed. I don't understand why they don't just look at the Day levels of Unleashed and use those as a basis for 3D sonic
Zenith Tempest Hey I’m a beginning youtuber and I just dropped a few new videos. If anyone could check them out so we get a 2nd opinion on them that would be awesome. Thanks
Zenith Tempest Because Sonic Team didn't hire good level designers. Seriously, check the credits. 3 guys. One who last worked on Lost World The other two are newbies. **facepalm** The problems probably could have been fixed if they didn't presumably have literally ONE GUY doing ALL the levels for each mode seperately.
Notice how he took his time making the Odyssey video, crafting it to perfection. Now look how quick Sonic forces review came out. Matches the devs efforts, my man dunkey
