Speed Triple 1200 RS | Triumph Triple Engine Story 

Thanks for the informative video. I have a 1200 RR and after 6000 miles, it's been flawless. It's smooth, compact and very fast. It also rides and handles like a dream. These bikes are super easy to service and a joy to own. Just a brilliant design.

I had the joy of test riding 1 of these the other day and it's a great bike , I'm saving like mad now to buy 1 👍 .

Really interesting to actually see inside the engine and find out more about the new design. Having ridden the new 1200 RS I can confirm it feels like a Street Triple with extra umph! 🤣😁👍

Fantastic tech put into the new bike but I have to snigger at his last comment as I can't get to test ride my potential new bike due to the fact the dealers have not got any to test ride! Cmon triumph pull your fingers out cuz I ain't spending 15k plus when I can't even get a test ride!

From owner’s perspective: Pros: Engine is really nice. Brakes are a very very good Dashboard is very good and clearly visible even in direct sunlight The hole bike feels very refined. Cons: The throttle pickup is a constant pain in the ass. Almost every second bike leaks oil from an engine cover. My keyless go system locked my bike and the hole system needed to be replaced. Some bikes lose the cover of the exhaust valve The navigation app doesn’t work at all. Phone connectivity works sometimes, sometimes not. The brakes squeak Wheelie control is not separately switchable.

Triumph should keep in touch with its British heritage and put a sleeve valve engine in a motorcycle!

I loved this engine. But I rode it back to back with my friend's old (2015) 1050, which I also owned. And I kinda missed the thumpy character of the old 1050, even though this engine was INSANE. Don't know how to explain it. It felt like my 765rs bike on steroids after many trips to the gym 😂

Have a 2022 speed triple rs and the first 3000 miles we’re flawless. Now I have cam chain noise and my dealer says they ordered a new tensioner but do not know when it will come in. My quick shifter has decided it only wants to work maybe 20% of the time. Dealer says they haven’t had this issue before but they are going to look at it next week. I’ve been waiting 7 months for a belly panel that was damaged during shipping. Come on guys this was my first triumph and my be my last triumph.

Some info where to connect a USB socket would be appreciated. And please update the display. Take BMW or KTM as example. Except from a broken thermostat and leaking gasket it is a monster and extreme refined bike for the track and road / sport touring / commuting!

I don't suppose the next episode will feature the Triumph Paint Factory? Just curious if it still exists or if every thing is now inspired by the black and grey of those surroundings...

Really nice engine, really nice bike. 👍 But please stop saying how reducing engine crank inertia changes the way it revs. It's doesn't, unless of course you have the clutch pulled in. When in gear, the rate that the engine revs increase is a function of total power available vs total inertia of the bike and rider that need to be accelerated. The inertia of the engine parts is totally insignificant.

I hope it’s better than my 2017 Speed Triple R ! The genuine quickshifter caused the gearbox to disintegrate and locked up the rear wheel!, luckily I was only doing 35mph and wasn’t killed. This is a know design fault but triumph washed their hands of it and kept it quiet. I would never buy another Triumph....

What about 1200 cc Sport Touring

Great - triumph will obviously continue the original tigersport & it’ll use a 1160 engine ⁉️

I love the way the engine looks too big for the frame. The way the cowls above the heads stick out from under the headstock. It looks like when they went to integrate the parts, the engine was too big, so they just kind of wedged it in there and called it good. It just fits the character of the bike.

Have this bike and it's been in a shop more than I would like to. Going tomorrow for yet another thing. Sometimes during downshift coming to a stop kills engine while rolling at 50kph. That's at the minimum unsafe.

So, hasn’t the computer chip shortage impeded production? As it stands, feels like a mouth watering advertisement for cake when flour isn’t available.

I must say, however, as a triumph owner, I'm very disappointed with the absolute lack of after market support for your bikes viz tuning etc for track use and the general lack of after market availability of parts etc. An absolute contrast in this regard is Aprilia who almost encourage you to customise the bike to make it yours. Triumph needs to really NOT nanny around customers who're OK with spending a fair bit of cash on what is very obviously purpose built to go really really quick. I mean, on one hand you make that delicious front end, and on the other the UI/UX of your electronics is SO childish. Why, triumph? Don't get carried away with being over safe. The idea of motorcycles is to be fun and there's a fine line between being safe and pushing a product that sells on the basis of how much it excites you into the "bland" territory. Don't be afraid of the spice, my friends.

sort of funny he is bragging on service interval of 10k miles for engine which I assume is favle clerance? 10k miles is not so imoressive these days I think Yamaha is 24k miles which actually IS impressive!

That much power u will hit 100kmph in no time... how fk can u drive a naked bike at that speed... wind blast will be torture.... with that horrible headlight design u can't get any suitable after market windshield

Bike is insane , also in fuel consuption departament. During my test drive almost 9L / 100 km. REDICELOUS! Even the duke 890 feels more powerful on the roads. In my mind this is not a great road bike. Power is to high in the rev range. Otherwise great looks, great brakes, great sus, and shock, and good price. To bad very, very poor fuel economy and ye, where are you rev it? Track? How many people really do that?

Put superb engine and give Chinese like small useless headlights... grosly looks like a bike met with accident... horrible design of frontal
