Lou Shu Fun, or Bee Tai Bak, is a rice noodle that resembles a long tear drop shape. It's chewy and very smooth, making it perfect for an afternoon meal. Although made as a claypot dish, this alternative stir fried version is equally delicious! Enjoy! Ingredients & Utensils ↓

400g Lou Shu Fun

Thanks Somjit for sharing such a wonderful and simple dish. Made this today and it was awesome - I think the preserved salted radish adds an umami to the dish. 🥰Do you need to soak your salted radish before frying or you just wash it? 🤔

@hiobi1172 . So sorry for a very late reply. I am so happy to hear that you have tried the recipe and enjoy the dish. For the salted radish, actually it does not need to soak or wash before cooking however, if you find it is too salty you can soak for a while to reduce the saltiness. Thank you 😀😀

Hi, u used a induction stove and pan, is it hot enough to fried noodles? Can I not use salted vegetables, is the towgay cooked enough when us ready to serve, thks

Hi robin tang, thank you for the questions 😄 Yes, the induction stove was hot enough to fry the noodles. You may remove the salted vegetables from the recipe, it is an optional ingredient. As for the towgay/ beans sprout, they were cooked when served as the residual heat continues to cook the towgay, making it still crunchy during the meal, as my family like crunchy towgay. If soft towgay is preferred, the towgay can be added at the same time as the lou shu fun. Hope this helps, please let me know how it turns out 😄 happy cooking!

Hi Cherapi. It can be done but usually we don't do it as noodles from the packet are usually ready to use. Also, this noodle doesn't have the chemicals smell so I don't rinse it. Most of the time the fresh yellow noodles needs to soak and rinse in hot water to remove the strong chemicals smell. I hope this helps. Happy cooking. 😀😀
