Today I’m going to show you how to assemble all the parts of SU27. before assembly, we can use glue, such as Shoe-fix glue, Foam glue or other Quick-drying glue to prepare the fuselage. I’ll take Shoe-fix glue as an example.
I have already put the glue into the syringe so it will be more convenient for us to use the glue.
Here is the fuselage and nose. Apply some glue to all the mounting surfaces.
Insert and match the nose and the fuselage. Then you can apply glue to the their contact surface. Press to make sure they are connected well and wait for the glue to dry. Wipe off excess glue.
Here is SU27 nose cover. Apply some glue to the nose. Insert the nose hard to make sure the nose is glued firmly.
Here are the surfaces on the side of SU27.
This slot is for placing the servo. The servo slot faces the nose of the aircraft. Apply some glue. Insert it and press to make it perpendicular to the fuselage. Use the same method to glue the other surface.
Pay attention do not leave any gaps on the contact surface. If there is any gap, the aircraft is not stable when flying.
Since we haven’t install the devices, so we’ll mount this board at last.
Prepare motor, ESC, flight controller, Motor mounting base, and screwdriver.
Mount the motor into the mounting base. There are wide slots and narrow slots. The wide one face upward. Place the motor wires downward. Tighten the screws. Here are the short small screws. Pay attention the motor wires are on the left of the fuselage. You only need to use two screws because you do not need to use screws on the narrow slot. Just use the screws on the wide slots. Tighten the screws.
Since the wires of the motor are long, you can cut it out and then solder them. Before soldering, you need to check the motor direction. if the motor direction is reversed, you can exchange any two of the three wires. (If R8XM receiver is used, please solder the telemetry cable as shown in the picture.)
Here is what it looks like after the soldering. Then we can mount the motor mounting base. Apply the glue. Insert it and press it for a while. Peel off the tape of the ESC and glue it like this. Apply more glue.
Here is flight controller Byme-DB. It comes with a cable to connect to the receiver. The arrow of the flight controller points to the nose. Mount Byme-DB in the place here. Try to place the three pins on the right so the connection to the ESC will be more convenient. Pass through the cable of the ESC and Peel off the tape of Byme-DB. Glue it. Press it. Connect the ESC and flight controller. Make sure the polarity is not reversed.
Then mount the servos and servo bases. Place the servo base like this. Servo shaft is close to the nose. Pass the servo wire. Then fix it and tighten the screws. Use the long black screw. You can also make a hole in the body and then tighten the screw. Tighten the other screw. Use the same method to mount the other servo. This is what it looks like after two servos are mounted.Connect the two servos to channel 1 and channel 2 of Byme-DB.
Receiver is connected to Byme-DB here. Mount the cover. Apply the glue. Glue it. Press it lightly.
Then you can place SU27 on a level surface for a night, and assemble it the next day
The glue is dry now. We can assemble other parts of the servo. Prepare servo arms, like this. Connect a receiver to the flight controller. I use R8FM receiver and T8S transmitter (If R8XM is used, refer to the picture on the screen to connect it)
Connect a battery. Bind. Switch to manual mode. Push the joystick back to center in manual mode and then install the servo arm. Install the copper pillar. This is what it look like after the copper pillar installed. Try to make the servo arm perpendicular to the fuselage. Use the same method to install the servo arm. Tighten the screw of the servo arm.
Prepare the rudder angle of the ailerons and tailerons. Insert rudder angles. Install it like this. Move the control surfaces to make them fluent.
Here is the drawbar. Insert it into the rudder angle and then the hole in the copper pillar. Install the nut. Use two screws to lock the copper pillar. Fix it with the cover. If the control surfaces are not level, you can adjust it. Use the same methods to install the rudder angle and drawbars. You can also apply some hot melt glue to the screws to prevent the screws from loosening due to vibration in the air. Insert the vertical tail and you can follow our other setup tutorial to fly SU27.
