!!((Spoilers for Campaign 2 Finale))!!! . . . . I appreciate everyone suggesting I update this video but I would have to completely reupload it as a separate video as you cannot simply change the file. I won't be doing this as the finale scene was short and sweet and there isn't much I can add to it. I hope you can enjoy this video as it stands.)
@J. Carv You see bandits, you're not dealing with the average syphillis anymore. I have super syphillis! That's right bandits. It has risen beyond the limits of normal syphillis, and into the realm of legend. The legend that you fear. The legend known throughout all of Wildemount as the most powerful disease to ever exist. I, Caleb Widogast, have super syphillis!
They were thieving bandits. Then they became bandits that tried to be kinder. Then they became hunters who only stole on rare occasions. At this rate, they may even own a hunting guild by the time the campaign ends. Assuming they're still alive.
Well, second time they were 5, and one was left behind. So just a 4th wasn't there, could have been searching other parts around the camp for the "animal they caught"
Plot twist: Trevor (the bandit who got obliterated by the Nein right out the bat) will be somehow resurrected & transformed in to a creature of some kind & he'll be part of the end-game bad guy battle.
@@JoeyCariaga Haha, you & me both. My only thought though, & i'll admit my knowledge of D&D is rusty at best but is there a creature Trevor could be resurrected into, if he's being resurrected from just the ashes he was left as after the Sacred Flame & other attack's in ep 8? Though now i think about it, Matt could always homebrew a creature.
BBEG: "Glad I've got good guards" Caleb: *lights up the area* "Long time no see, Francis, you're looking good - why don't you take the night off?" Wildemont crew: "You've been nicer to us than HE ever was, want a hand?"
"I really feel like there was a lesson here, and we haven't learned it," is the Mighty Nein in a nutshell. In one sentence Caduceus got his squad all figured out.
By the end of this, they'll either be the end campaign Big Bad; or the Mighty Nein's most valuable allies...or the player characters of a Critical Role one-shot!
I hope we see the ex-bandits again and they actually get to talk with Cad. I feel like they'd have a nice conversation about turning their life around and having self-confidence. Molly did it in a really chaotic way that made major environmental change, but Cad would have it be a real internally driven improvement on their morals
Mighty Nein and Essik on a friend date: *talking about being pirates* Bandits: *jumps out* give me your ca-...... Fuck sorry y'all um as you were. Mighty Nein: Again? Seriously y'all. We're not mad... Just disappointed. Jester: Molly would cry to see y'all now.
[Spoiler up to episode 90] I’m just imagining Artagan hysterically laughing watching all these bandits strip down to nothing and being brought to tears.
Im sorta disappointed Liam came in and essentially ended the conversation and then stole their honest work (pelts). I would've rewarded them for going straight by buying their pelts or something ya know
True, but I would argue that that is on brand for the chaos that are the M9. While they're bandits the M9 give them money and armor and as soon as they go (semi) legit they lose (some of) their stuff to the M9 xD
@@willtaylor2487 An entire year has passed since this comment, and i've never been so excited AND terrified to catch up after not having been able to watch for a few months :D
So wait, during the second encounter they meet five bandits, and Jester tells them that they if they're going to do crimes, they should at least work for a rich criminal instead of just robbing people on the road. Two of them say, "She's got a point", and then at the third encounter we see three ex-bandits who are now poachers. Did those two get fully convinced and seek out employment with a rich criminal? And if so, I wonder if they went to nearby Zadash and started working for The Gentleman?
No lie, I kinda want Matt and Liam to make a spell that actually let's Caleb mark a target and always know what they're doing, like a very limited omniscience. Widowgast's Seeing Stone... sounds about right
Bad luck or are they the truly luckiest bandits every, not only did they survive three encounters with a stronger party of adventurers but get away with minimal loss and some times gain.
I love earlier M9, they were bad too squishy combat wise with only one healer and not enough potions but the dynamic of the Molly being the moral center who looks demonic, Jester being the reluctant healer, Fjord a conflicted Warlock, Beau being punch first ask questions later, and Nott being unskillful rogue. Without Yasha they were a very unbalanced party, but they were lovable. The party is better combat wise now, and are better people in general but the early level M9 was fun to watch.
Another amazing edit, with so much detail and trimming, I am staggered by the amount of work involved to create this masterpiece, hats off, a round of applause, build statues, sing songs of your deeds kinda achievement. Incredible edit Alanna :)
I love that the bandits started with 9, second time they had 5, and third time they had 3. They were either killed by the nein, left behind & deserted, or left the group out of fear... I imagine the fourth time will just be one dude tied up and half dead in some dungeon, and after being saved by the nein, he ends up setting off a trap...
I love how there's two people who are accessing the arcane and/or using gifts bestowed by their God, and Beau's just there like "PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE"
ok, this is awesome, and great for reliving their arc, and i'm thankful for it, but more importantly - i'd like to just point out the absolutely amazing *tiny* little editing detail that happens at 14:23, where Sam actually passes _behind_ Liam's head in the clip.
For the fourth time they run into them again, it’s revealed that Jourrael has become the leader of these former bandits and now it’s a total 180 of how competent they are.
The image of a woman in a "mama bear" shirt saying: "Oh no that's where we got the syfillis from" is amazing. The fact that it's Laura Bailey who said that makes it 10x better😂
As always your editing is amazing, that first encounter in particular was just quality.... I love all the text stuff but my favourite is Caleb spitting out a final "...syphilis..." as he falls over covered in quarrels - the eye stuff on Molly was also extremely good lmao
As someone who just finished episode 10, I’m so glad these poor saps make a return in the not so near future. Not watching the rest of this video for a while, sadly.
I cannot express enough how many times I come back to this video…. Very well edited, and the things that you slightly added 🧑🍳👌 keep up the fantastic work
