Thanks for visiting my channel. I have a ton of ideas for fun and silly Critical Role videos and hope to post at least once a week! Feedback is always appreciated and if there are any scenes or compilations you'd like to see edited in my style, just comment on my channel!
NB: My videos are not monetised, any ads before them are from RU-vid
Shoehorning someone into 1 role (especially during combat) because of their class isn't fun. Druids are great healers, but you never hear 'you're the Druid' when it comes down to it. One game I played, we had a Light Domain Cleric and a Celestial Pact Warlock. They could both do healing and blasting, but the Warlock did much more healing than the Cleric, who did alot of blasting. Obviously you have subclasses that implicate playstyles (Celestial has healing abilities unlike other Warlocks, and Light Domain is better at blasting than other Celrics), but for the base class, don't force them to play 1 way
Just to build off what I said, the only times you should really heal in the most optimal game is when you either have the spell "Heal" or when someone is down on the ground. The whole point of healing is to prevent damage but you literally can not prevent damage with DnD healing because it heals such miserable amounts. It's much smarter to throw out spells that can either stop attacks or just straight up kill the enemy.
This gives me an idea for a cleric: They cure, but they do so by viciously smashing a heavy staff against whomever needs healing. It'll cure the wounds, but nothing shall stop the pain. Even better: they're eager to heal, and the party really doesn't wanna be smacked with a healing hammer.
He may never see this but …..losing your shit in a good way is the best like next time your hit just “die” or go full ace Ventura and it will happen less as you crank the energy up ALOT
