Thank you for actually explaining *how* it works. As an IT person, I was concerned with the "how" rather than looking at router compatibility lists. I knew it either had to make the existing router work in bridging mode (like an AP) and connect inline between that and the Internet or this sort of "trickery" ... cool!

What happens when the subscription runs out? Does the circle stop working altogether or does it just not get updated with the latest sites?

Is there a laptop download version of this? We cannot hook up anything to our network right now.

Just make sure you have a compatible router. Mine appears to be one of few that won't work with it. And I cant seem to enable the compatibility mode that is advertised. Routers aren't cheap so now I have to decide if I want to spend even more money or just return the device.

We have 6 access points also in the Home, so if we connect Circle Home Plus in Local network is it will block devices. Becauese Mobile/Tablet/Laptop etc.. may have connect with access point through wifi so in this case Can Circle Home Plus block those devices ?

how do i stop certain apps at between certain times? When i think my kids are doing school work on their tablets they can sometimes be playing games. i want to limit them from being able to go on other apps during school time

So this device only works for devices connected to the WiFi that the circle is connected to? Because I don’t have unlimited WiFi and I connect all devices to WiFi except phones, which are used a lot, because we have unlimited data on our cell network...

I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION FOR YOU! I discovered one of these on the window sill today in an office that I have rented space in for an entire year. Is this capable of looking at my devices and internet site browsing without my permission? It seems so, and if so--I feel like this should be punishable. I see it is made for family homes to protect and regulate one's children. There are 0 kids in this office, at all. If this device can view my laptop and phone browsing when on the office wifi--I am gonna go directly to my lawyer!

So let’s say if I got circle going and set it to let’s say not allow access to say Instagram for example. Once the child clicks on Instagram on his or her phone , will it tell them why it’s not opening ?

This really helps to make an untrusted relationship with your parents, and helps treat you like an xtranger, it actually impulses you to do worst stuff.

Yall if u have an iphone u can close out all apps and turn off ur phone for like 30 sec and then quickly open an app and it will give u a small amount of wifi to like send snaps and stuff if you're over your "bedtime" or over ur time limit thank me later

Parent's if you're still thinking of using this device (and I'm not trying to be dramatic), think about your relationship with your children. This is easily a way to ruin your relationship with your child, its a worthless struggle for control that doesn't end well. All you're teaching them is to be sneaky. Think about it, why would there be so many defenses put in place if kids weren't trying to get rid of it. It's not teaching them to go to bed on time or to stop playing games as much, it's forcing them to. Instead of forcing control over your children to the point where they won't come back to see you for another thanksgiving, try putting more actual discipline into your parenting and teach them to actually respect the rules. If that's not working have you maybe thought to yourself maybe the rules you have are in fact to strict or maybe you're just a bad parent. Your kid is not your property they are a living person too, with their own rights and beliefs.

I hate circle.... My kids found so many ways around this to deactivate the VPN just by youtubing. Yes I get alerted but it happens so much it's so time consuming and leads to a lot of fighting.

I used the Amplifi HD and create 2 networks. Put the kids on the guest WIFI, then I just set time and site restrictions on the Guest WIFI. Everyone is sleeping like a baby after 9pm except my wife who is on the main network playing games all night :)

its actually a very VERY bad product as it kills your WIFI speed bc it uses an old internet protocol , ASWELL as it can be used to peer into private life of people who connect to your internet that aren't in your family. terrible product we pay for 100mb/s speed and we only get 2.5 using circle. you're better off getting an ASUS router as it doesn't have the shitty mechanics of circle and you only need to buy the router to use the app with every feature and not have to pay 10 fucking dollars. big scam. Do not buy.
