This Christian knock-off of "Paranormal Activity" won't admit that it wants to save your soul, but the heavy handed morality message is trying its best to prevent impure thoughts and definitely will judge your sins. Although this is not my first time watching a Christian horror movie, I was still shocked by how bad this one was. As always, don't forget to like and subscribe! For a group of people who think most sex is evil and sinful, they're super obsessed with sex. Also, I hate the "she could be your daughter/sister/wife" excuse. It always, ALWAYS sends the message that a woman is only important for consideration because of their relationship to a man, and how *HE* feels about other men seeing her naked. It completely ignores what she wants and assumes that men are in charge of her sexuality.
@heyummrandommuch

Repression creates a scarcity mindset which leads to them being obsessed w sex. That's why "porn/masturbation addiction" is only present in situations where sexual repression is high.

Thank you! They’re always more afraid of offending the parents of the girl instead of accidentally disrespecting the girl. It also gives the notion that “she posed for such images so she welcomed all judgement for it”. The girl probably didn’t think posing for a few pictures to pay some bills would lead to people treating her like an object.

No kidding. I grew up in an overly religious household. For the longest time, I thought I was “rebellious” for not wanting to wear the modest clothes my parents wanted me to wear. When I went off to college, I realized quickly that the length of shorts I wanted to wear were tame compared to what other girls wore and no one but my mom cared about seeing my shoulders and knees at the same time.

As a former church kid, I have a guess about why they didn’t try to make the demonic stuff more intense or interesting. I had a youth leader tell me he was in a play where he had the role of satan, and it “messed with him, spiritually.” I think folks like this can be genuinely scared that “acting demonic” in any way is inviting the devil into your heart.
@CallMeSkinny
@CallMeSkinny Год назад
Yes I was going to say this too. They fear it down to even making their own depictions of the devil. They think it’s inviting them by just speaking of demons and how bad they are so I can’t imagine they are to happy to have a demonic story line that would’ve of been graphic.

I got lectured once by a youth pastor because a girl I wasn't even friends with, just happened to be talking to, was wearing a skirt that was like half an inch above her knee. When she sat down, you could see part of her leg. So *I* got lectured for it because the *youth pastor* used to have a porn addiction. And THAT, ladies and gentleman, is what it's like being a woman in an evangelical church.

Over the years I’ve increasingly lost the patience to listen to Christians talk about their pornography “addictions” because the culture they created is what gave them that mindset that started the addiction in the first place. I think there's even research about this concluding that people who categorize themselves as "porn addicts" don't even spend an extraordinary amount of time watching porn but rather have values that conflict with porn consumption in general. Their framing of it as an addiction alleviates the suffering from this cognitive dissonance.

I’m just now remembering the time that me and my girl group Christian garage band was having practice in the church alone, and at some point we heard noises coming from the attic above the baptismal, and we worked ourselves into a blind panic. By the time my parents came to pick us up, we had barricaded the baptismal door and were huddled together in a corner of the fellowship hall. It’s easy to get worked up when you’ve been told that demons are real since you were born 😅 so for these kids, this level of panic probably feels realistic haha. Also looking back, that church building had some really dark energy 😬

Christian movies are just wild. Like even taking away the stupid messages they like to spoon feed you (by shoving that spoon way down your throat) they’re always awful. Is it that they don’t want to spend the money required to make a good movie? Or is it that the people who want to make the movies are always terrible? Anyway, 15:55 made me witch cackle, the way he’s so obviously trying not to do any real damage while still pretending to hit hard was just so so funny. Thank you for sharing this with us, Nick.
