TIPM 2011 Chrysler (Dodge) town and country (Grand Caravan) external fuel pump relay 

I have a 2011 Chrysler T&C. This is a great video. I also printed the safety recall sheet and took it out with me. It gives confidence before you cut a wire. My dealer gave me a generic, one-size-fits-all relay bypass kit 6814 2156 AC-001 from Mopar. They don't provide any instructions, so you'll need to know; 1. You will also have to buy a 20a inline fuse and ring terminal. I went to Home Depot. 2. Put the wires into the block "feet first" before you start splicing. That way you won't have to double splice everything like I did. 3. The connections to the relay posts are as follows; Brown to 2 (86); Blue to 3 (30); Pink (ignition switch) to 1 (86); Hot (TIPM terminal fused) to 5 (87). This was not an overly difficult job and there was lots of room to work for a nice change. Good Luck!

Hello !! Thank You for the info. I went to the local PUll A Part, looked at many vehicles until I found the correct relay, and bought it for six dollars and some change. I already had an idea where to look, so it took me about an hour to find it. I went home and followed the instructions in the recall bulletin, maybe three hours, (the recall bulletin gives 0.7 hours), and I did it !!! I got the car running!! Again, Thank You !!!

Very good video, just starting to have these problems with my 2010 Caravan. Going to make up a jumper in case it breaks down. I can see doing the external relay in the future.

Tip: Heat the wire, not the solder. Otherwise you get a cold solder joint. And use the side of the soldering iron to shrink the tubing. Not a lighter.

Nice video. My wife's 2011 Chrysler town and country just started acting weird. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it doesn't. I checked that fuse and it is only getting power for a few seconds then it stops. I'm buying this relay tomorrow. Thank you for the video.

On the jumper cable that you used too bypass the pump relays, you’ll notice that the auxiliary fuse position there are 3 slots. Using the front and middle slots provides power at all times and will kill the battery if left in that position over night or if left idle for long periods of time by running the fuel pump continually,to prevent this this use the middle slot.and the rear stop in the aux. fuse position. If your in cold climates and the vehicle, using this bypass, won’t start,open the fuse panel and move the bypass to the center and front position. Start the vehicle, run it for a minute shut it off and put the bypass back in the center and rear position and it should run fine..

hey buddy...my 2014 Chrysler 300 cranks no start...relays and fusses are ok...no power coming to the fuel pump ...spray starter fluid and runs but dies after I stop spraying...could that be the TIMP internal relay inside the fuse box?...3 mechanics already check it and found nothing...I even put a new fuel pump and it doesn't get power...I got inside lights panel...radio works...thanks for the video
