While World of Warcraft is definitely filled with a million different powerful characters, in many cases the reason these characters are so strong is due to the weapons they wield.
Best example of this would be anyone wielding the Ashbringer, or the Lich King and Frostmourne, as well as the Axe of Cenarius. Going from minor mortal made weapons to titan like weapons such as the Sword of Sargeras present currently in Silithus.
So what are the top 10 strongest weapons in world of warcraft lore.

I think The Ashbringer is more a hard counter to Frostmourne than the stronger weapon. It literally destroys undead and the Lich King counts as an undead. However when in it's corrupted form it was nothing remarkable. Frostmourne however... even after breaking the shards we still impactful. Add to that the actual power demonstrated by it in lore.

I got few points. There are few stronger hints Ashbringer is made of heart of dead Narru from Dreonor. It also answer why it's use light magic and also able to swap to darkside (but not void like Narru). I kind of expect to see Felomelorn reforged below frostmourne, maybe number 11. Cause Kaelthas state it was reforged to defeat frostmourne. And it did held against frostmourne without issue.

Natalie Saline wasn't corrupted by Xal'atath, she actually learned enough from the blade to be able to hide her soul in the Void realm to avoid being killed by assassins.

Aluneth and Atiesh are less powerful than Frostmourne and Ashbringer. That's an inarguable fact.

@@monkeysk8er33 Idk... Atiesh was used by Aegwynn to single handedly fight the Avatar of Sargeras. Aluneth was going to be her weapon of choice, but Aluneth was so powerful that it was able to resist her commands... Atiesh and Aluneth are 100% up there as two of the most powerful weapons in warcraft

I don’t think that ashbringer would destroy frostmourne if wielded by someone else as well that Arthas did not expect that strike and the blade was like a stick in that angle..just my opinion tho

Agree but not exactly. Its a hard counter but thats it. The Ashbringer was nothing special in it's corrupted form meaning it literally is only remarkable for being so strong against the undead. By that logic then how can it be said that because it is the counter to a superior weapon with more destructive capability it is the more powerful weapon. It's not.

It's not confirmed that Toranar fought Sargeras in his full form. It is mentioned in the writings about the blades that he might have fought an avatar.

Idk why people here are downplaying Remornia, since it’s literally the blade of an Eternal One, and Eternal Ones are on the level of the Titan Pantheon. 😐 And it handling the essence of an Eternal One is also quite a feat.

_The Axe of Cenarius was supposed to show up in Legion, but ended up not really fitting the theme._ Yeah. I can't imagine that an axe that was famous for slaying demons would ever fit in an expansion about slaying demons.

The Fist of Ra-den is way more powerful than The Ashbringer, The Fist was created by the high father of the pantheon while Ashbringer was just forged in Ironforge using a purified dark orb of an orc warlock

I may be of The Alliance but my favorite character in WoW history is Broxigar. A true honorable warrior of The Horde. Plus he was just a fucking badass.

Frostmourne is more powerful than the ashbringer, the only reason that the ashbringer was able to break it, was because of the "lights final blessing'' on Tirion and the light being a direct counter to necromancy and undead, hence it was able to destroy it.

If including non canon, Gorshalach has to be #1, then Gorribal and (canon for the rest) Taeshalach, Scepter of Sargeras, Ulthalesh, Scythe of the Unmaker, Frostmourne, all i can guess off the top of my head

@@eradication541 as of legion at least it seems Lots of weapons can consume souls.we know frostmourne was more powerful by a longshot It Was made by the Runecarver after all You could argue that Eventually shadowmourne Could match the strength of frostmourne if it absorbed enough souls, but at least when we made it and when frostmourne was destroyed, shadowmourne was a pale shadow of Frostmourne

Well it was the warrior not the weapon that mare the kill. He is talking about magical empowering wespons. Grommash could have killed mamnoroth with any other axe that size
