Battle of the new gen 4 bangers continue! It's really impressive that the GR86 can hold 90% of peak torque from 2400-7200 rpm, ~5000 rpm spread. Amazingly wide/flexible powerband for an NA engine.

If they made a 4dr version of the GR86, I would pick that over my Integra. For daily use, the Civic is more usable and livable.

A GR86 with a full exhaust, tune, on e85 fuel is roughly 250whp...With RWD having more drivetrain losses than FWD, the fully tune GR86 engine on e85 would be making roughly 300 crank horsepower out of an NA 2.4L four-cylinder. I'm not sure the tuning capabilities of the 11th Gen Si's, but I do think they're great daily drivers.

What gear were these done? Ive noticed a trend of all these shops doing dyno pulls in gears that are not 1:1. The GR86 everyone likes to use 4th gear which is not 1:1 and will give inflated numbers. Then everyone runs around claiming the car is under rated. Do the dyno in 5th gear like it should be and get real numbers. My 22 BRZ made 205\165 on a dynojet in 5th gear. It made a fake extra 12HP 5TQ in 4th gear.

That's interesting. I've only seen lower numbers from using a lower gear on a Dynojet.

@@Carguylogan That should never be the case. Dynos are meant to be done at a 1:1 ratio. Any lower gear than that will be more aggressive and amplify wheel torque. Wheel torque is the basis for the entire dyno measurement, so if that is inaccurate, everything is inaccurate.

@@boost331 The dyno software also looks at the speed it is spinning at though. More torque in a lower gear but less speed. It calculates for this. I have a friend with a Dynojet at his house and i've done a lower gear pull on I think 2 of my cars before and they made less power iirc. Higher gear means more load on the engine which will usually translate to higher tq after the dyno speed has been accounted for.

@@Carguylogan Unless you tell the software what the transmission gear ratio actually is it always assumes 1:1. The calculation done in the software can only determine the final drive ratio (differential ratio). I does figure that out based on RPM vs wheel speed. But in order for that calculation to be accurate the transmission must be in a 1:1 gear. The dyno cannot automatically adjust for all of the factors that change wheel torque. Transmission gear, tire size, differential ratio all have an impact on wheel torque. I do not own a dyno but I have far more dyno pulls are far more cars than most people over the course of 25 years of modding. I cannot explain why your results are different than every car I have ever seen. But it is a fact that ratios greater than 1:1 will produce higher numbers. My most recent dyno pulls for my 2022 BRZ made 11 more HP in 4th gear which is not 1:1 vs 5th gear that is. The BRZ is another car that has everyone running around claiming the car is underrated. Its not. Its just a bunch of people that are getting bad dyno results from improper tests.

@@boost331 The dyno knows what rpm it's wheel starts and ends at, and usually it's hooked up to one of your spark plug wires so it knows your engine rpm too. That's enough information for it. I have had 6 of my own cars and watched countless other cars on the Dynojet I use and they DO NOT make more power the lower gear you are in. It just doesn't happen. They make more power in numerically higher gears because of the load. You are going way beyond your one-time dyno trip with your BRZ and pretending to have knowledge and experience you don't have to justify numbers that you think were low for your car. If you had the experience you claim to have, we wouldn't be arguing because you would already know that what I am saying is fact. This isn't an opinion. It's verifiable and it is common information. Dynojet dynos absolutely do not show more power in lower gears. Think about what you're saying for a second- a Dynojet is "programmed" for the 1:1 transmission ratio yet it can accommodate anywhere from 2.59 to 5.11 axle ratios without knowing which one is in the current car being dynod and still be accurate? Lol. Big difference between a camaro in fourth gear with 2.73 gears and a Camaro in fourth gear with 4.10 gears. How come a Dynojet can dyno both of those cars back to back accurately? Because it uses the starting and ending DYNO WHEEL rpm and calculates the acceleration of the wheel as a % of it's min and max speed.

GR definitely more fun on track than an Si. A GR off the line can even compete with a WRX to 1/4 mile, it destroys the Civic. I’ve seen it beat an S2000 CR on track with both being experienced drivers. I’ve seen a GR tie with a Veloster N even.

it's extremely simple.....Get a Ktuner and the Phearable tune and you will instantly gain 60+ WHP and 100 WTQ

Just curious what you’re watching the video on? We use the Rode mic connected to camera. We have multiple microphones but most of our videos are filmed last minute and we only bring out the full production equipment on scheduled gigs. If you’re referring to the echo, that’s just the location.

Those L15 motors are extremely horrible because they severely lack the capability needed to be sufficient and making good or high horsepower long-term because there is no displacement for whatever reason Honda decided to put a 1.5 L in A vehicle made for sporty driving and young people that they know will push the car to its limits and then some so it’s extremely ignorant of them to put such a low displacement motor in a car that’s supposed to be made for some sort of performance. Fail for Honda 🤦‍♂️😂

& That’s why we have spares for our 800+ HP L15 😂. We can’t answer for Honda decision but we will always make the best of what we have.
