Finally! The door internals are done. Pain in the rear, but it's done! Much happier with the vinyl top caps, too. Thanks for watching!

Hi Chris, it's looking good. Following on from comments about accessibility of the spring. Horologists use a "C" shaped clamp to hold main springs in the wound up state; Google "Clockmakers Spring Clamp Holders" to see what I am talking about. One of these (or home-made version) might allow you to restrain and remove a partially wound spring so that you can wind the toothed quadrant to a better position... then refit the spring. I assume that the spring is put under tension when lowering the drop glass; so wind down partially, restrain and remove spring, wind up the glass and then refit the spring. It should then be at greater tension across the whole range of travel. Would need to take care as I guess that even a relatively small spring has a fair bit of potential energy

Thanks, Robin. Definitely something I will look into as I'm still not sure it's correct. And the spring did draw some blood when I removed under tension. Notone of my best moments! 😬

Nice. I wonder if the spring is accessible without taking the mechanism out so that it can be adjusted?

Yup, it's right there on top as long as you take the door card off. But, you can't put it under, at least in what I think it the correct way, without taking it out and "preloading" it. I assume you mean the window winding spring?
