Strongly agree, I tried her out after watching this video and was surprised by how much I liked her skill and burst animations

the devs do what thay're told. And they were told that a good 4* pyro cleymore would have prevented players from seeking the pricey and almost impossible to get 5* Diluc. That's why they screw Xinyang so bad. And probably that's why they never bothered to fix her bugged tier 3 shield. It's a shame because her aestethics and story are way more interesting than most 5* chicks.

yunjin and gorou are good, gorou needs like no investment at all but they are niche supports and that's what mihoyo has been pushing lately

@@Shiiwata It's probably better like this. If they wanted to make more general supports, they'd be either worse than Bennett (so nobody would play them) or better than Bennett (who's already broken). Niche supports are "allowed" to be really good in one or two specific comps without invalidating all other supports, not to mention that there's plenty of niches to fill, which means plenty of characters to sell. Everyone wins.

She's terribly made with terrible damage and bad utility. A clunky unfun character with boring game play. But her parts in the story are quite good.

@@lunablack3887but her skill have a high scaling... at lvl 1 (shield level 1 absorption dmg = 104.04% DEF + 501)... so if you have let's say 20k HP then 20k x 104.04% + 501 = 21k (Idk if my calculation is right lol)... but even with Zhongli shield you can almost tank everything so 21k hp shield is not the problem, but the constellation scale off HP? maybe that a little ridiculous... C6: Xinyan CA gain an ATK Bonus equal to 50% of her DEF... so if it scales off HP... then half of 20k is 10k and isn't that a little too much considering she is just a 4-star character (and if I'm not mistaken this kind of atk bonus also affected by crit right? I'm not so sure)

@@ren_MY obviously, if she’s reworked to be scaling from HP the scaling itself would change, as HP tends to be about ten times higher than def/atk stat.

Yeah like I feel like changing her c6 could be an easy fix to her kit, like noelle’s dmg still scales better on atk then def before you get c6, but there’s no point on xinyan where you’d want to build def for dmg. I feel like if they just changed charged atk dmg to phys dmg and then tweaked the ratio a bit in her c6, it would make her kit synergize together ungodly better

well Albedo has split scaling too but he's still a very good support unit.

@@x_Psyduck_x not really. Most Albedo players never use their Burst except if they need to give that 125 EM because you never build ATK on Albedo (if you're going with the meta. Else all bets are off)

@@byeguyssry there are two different builds for albedo and both are viable and pretty solid in terms of DPS, it's just that the DEF build with using his elemental skill is easier to get and easier to use especially with his new signature 4-star sword.

My xinyan does 60k ult dmg on base because i read her con wrong and accidentally only gve her 8% crit rate BUT i love her so much, i definitely want to keep building her. She brought me over ar 50 and beyond and my first lvl 90 as well

not really, albedo is just as split as her but he is way better, even if you count the buff he gets with the event sword, xinyan got the redhorn, but she still isnt really competitive.

@@LarmesGrive Albedo gets really hard to build with split scaling having to find the 4 piece bis, a good amount of attack and defense and also crit stats

@@LarmesGrive it’s because of how much better his skill is. It’s a no brainer to fully invest in his e, after all, it is his main source of damage. With xinyan however, her source of damage, normal and charged attacks, have split scaling

Agreed. You have to choose if she will be a hitter or shilder. her kit is kinda expensive befor I can hit 10k to 15k in normal atack. I still have mix feeling to her def potential. Honestly I forget that her E is a shilder. I just pop it out if Im sure Im near to the multiple enemy.

@Cryo disagreed. Kokomi still isn't split scaling. Almost all of her kit scales off of hp and healing bonus. Also there's not much difference in running a hp vs dmg bonus goblet. Xinyan on the other hand demands both atk and def for different parts of her kit which is bad.

It took me a year to get a good set on her that works with her split scaling. Once you get it, yeah she is great. But it took a year of RNG to get it. That is just way to hard for most.

Honestly? I hope they don't. There's one very distinct difference between Genshin and just about every other F2P gacha game out there: Relative simplicity. It's to Genshin's advantage that it doesn't have several dozen different upgrade methods with about ten different kinds of currency . It leads to menu bloat, monetization bloat, and doesn't really serve to improve the game at all. Just look at Genshin's predecessor Honkai. It's a perfect example why piling systems on just leads to annoyance instead of something interesting or useful. It follows all of the F2P mobile strategies almost to a 'T'. Genshin doesn't need new upgrade paths, just better synergistic design in even its neglected characters.

The reason Bennett has his C6 is Mihoyo neutering his potential.

@@metalunderground2020 I wouldn't call that neutering Bennett. His c6 destroys his team options with physical damage dealers and keqing, but any damage dealer that infuses normal attacks with elements (except keqing because for some fcking reason bennet's c6 has a higher infusion priority) bypasses the pyro damage infusion, and the damage bonus is beneficial to any pyro dps, or pretty much every character that uses notmal physical attacks without buildng physical damage.

@@metalunderground2020 Bennett's C6 isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be. It only actually hurts Physical DPS characters, Keqing, and Ayaka's cryo infusion with her dash. That's it. It _does_ benefit team comps like melt Ayaka and mono-pyro with Klee however.

The Raiden fiasco was intentional. _Sure,_ “it’s beta, you weren’t supposed to know the changes with the NDAs in place, so technically MHY didn’t do anything malicious other than change her pre-release blah blah blah” only that that they had to change Raiden’s C6 ASAP because the wording gave away that they originally wanted it to work with Beidou but then decided against throwing F2P/dolphins a bone.

@@drmigi I think the Raiden and Beidou thing was on purpose since Raiden’s burst doesn’t modify her normal attacks like Diluc or Razor or Klee, but completely changes them into burst attacks that you just happen to execute with the attack button, if that makes sense.

Also, to explain why her burst works with Xingqiu and not Beidou, Beidou’s lightning will only proc if an opponent is hit by a normal attack, while Xingqiu doesn’t require it. So I believe Xingqiu’s burst checks to see if the attack button was pressed while Beidou’s checks to see whether an enemy was hit by a normal attack. And once again, Raiden’s burst presses the attack button but does burst attacks and not normal attacks.

@@Ben-vg6ox XL does way less raw damage than Klee; Klee has arguably the best raw Pyro damage in the game. XL just happens to damage in reasonable intervals to actually trigger Vaporize, unlike Klee who fails miserably at that.

Ok so sinces shes a 4 star they dont get the signature weapon treatment like the limited 5 stars do (I know some standard have one but tbh its really just jean and diluc and even then those arent really their BIS). Personally the first priority for her in general is to fix a bug that has existed since the beginning regarding her passive that decreases the enemy hit requirement, It never works sometimes you hit 5 people and still dont get the lvl 3 shield xiao had a similar problem with something in his kit but they fixed that immediately while xinyan remains broken. Of course split scaling is next priority because they tried something new and it failed miserably. Something id like to change about her that isnt her scaling is have her benefit from her element being pyro. Perhaps change her phys dmg shield bonus passive to have her deal 25% more damage to opponents affected by pyro so that way you can still use her skill and pyro part of her burst to deal more damage as a main dps. To help make her shield useful have it benefit from her phys dmg bonus so you can get value out of it and it wont be paper thin.

@@fancymustache3793 I don't know what you were playing, I've been playing it since 1.1 and I've never had that problem that you're talking about. In fact, until now I realized that I had a bug since it had never happened to me. Besides, he is a very good character who has saved me due to his great damage and his dps buff, and he is not a support, he is a subdps designed for when your main dps is on recharge or does not have the definitive one to give that 5 or 10 seconds per that has such large CDs and is a character thought directly for physical characters of course there are few and there are only 3 physical characters that I recommend that are Eula, razor and fichl the others are not so good, even though physical amber is a machine gun. In short, Xinyan does not need any change, what he needs is that he knows how to play and arm, and that one has good hands to know how to get all his damage out of him.

Not really. Lavawalker only gives 40% RES to Pyro. As Vars detailed, that's not enough for her to build full offense as her shield will still crumble

Xiyan only had a very minor role in the Moonchase Event. The Labyrinth event had Xiyan was the main character, which is why Vars mentioned the Labyrinth. Still, it did seem that Mihoyo felt they had to put her in something. I would wish Xiyan did have a hangout event.

Really? I thought everyone who doesn't have Sucrose or Jean used her since she's Anemo and very reliable as a support, since her Burst not only covers a fine amount of space but also heals and deals DMG.

I dont even use jean much who is the 5 star version of sayu because there are already better healers, diona who also has shield and bennett who have atk buff. Other than that, anemo VV shreds can be used by kazuha or sucrose who can even further buffs the team with their own kit.

She's a four star version of Jean that tries to both heal and do swirl damage at the same time

She works super well for me as a support. I'm using her in my main team until I get Kazuha. I'm really loving her.

Not exactly her kit but her elemental ability has not been fixed till this day. Basically you have 3 levels of shield. The level 3 shield you get by hitting 3 enemies or more unless you unlock her talent that reduces it to 2 enemies. But most of the time you can even hit 4 enemies the game will just give you a level 2 shield for some fucking reason.

It isn't bugged, just a ping issue.

@@Alastor-x My connection is pretty strong so it really doesn't feel like an Ping Issue. But either way, it's something that Mihoyo could and should fix it.

@@Alastor-x If Mihoyo fixed Xiao's C6 constellation not activating due to ping, then by Mihoyo's own admission, it's bugged. No other character that I'm aware of has their kit break due to ping like Xinyan.

The issue of her shield wouldn't even be a problem if it just always gave the highest damage absorbtion with AOE damage unconditionally. Her shield having "levels" does nothing but open the door for it to be weak.

Pyro is not her thing. She has more passives for physical and her ultimate literally bursts for tons of physical damage and a guarneteed crit with C2. Pyro would be pretty bad on her overall. So basically she has dual scaling with defense or straight up attack depending on her constellation or how you want her to function. Do you want her skill to have any real value and stack defense? or do you want the big numbers on her ultimate with guarenteed crit... but make her skill useless overall. That's her big issue.

pyro and def r pretty much useless for her since she’s not really a good shielder even with def and she is a phys character so phys is definitely the best option for her

@@miovi123 Unless you have her C6, Defensive builds are pretty bad. At least if you have C6, you have a way to deal damage still through defense scaling using charged attacks.

Sadly MHY only cares about 5 star characters since they give money to them, and it is quite clear especially after Kokomi got an artifact set especially made for her, they just waited to address a very old problem ( In this example, overhealing ) after it got bad for their wallet.

Why isn't Albedo bad then? The split scaling isn't the core of her problems as a character. She doesn't have big enough numbers, that's it. Make her shield scaling to be 1000% def and she will be good

I was going to say the same thing. Similar with the explanation of Superconduct-unless you are fighting ruin guards, you’re not getting a full 40% damage increase. In fact, a lot of humanoid enemies, like Fatui, have negative physical resistance by default, so you’re only going to see a 20% damage increase, max.

Her kit doesn't help her despite what she's meant to do. Her charge attack is honestly her best method of attack but her moving back when doing it works against that. Its like she's an Ayaka prototype. Able to apply their element in their normal, charge; charge is the main focus of attack; burst is multihit with strong last hit. But Ayaka just has a better kit.

It can get up to 14-20k with the best stuff (not R5 5-star weapons, but like R5 Lithic Blade or R1 Gravestone for example). I think the biggest mistake people make is trying to make super conduct work for her. Just go double pyro double geo.

@@kaikawasumi I’m an ex-whale (within my means, mind you) who still spends on specific characters, including Xinyan. She currently has a R1 Stonetrasher and a def sands, but she goes up to that range with an attack sands I have for her (that’s currently on QiQi because I need another one for her to keep 4-pc clam) so she’s pretty kitted out. I really want to max her some day, maybe not OkCode levels but I’m getting as close as I can lol

I’ll definitely try the double Geo/double Pyro more in the future with her as main dps. I haven’t even thought of the major benefits to her with Geo res. Currently have her in my Eula team as a sub, but love using her as main in co-op runs.

@@reveriesyndrome1884 I'm not exactly a Xinyan main. I've always used her more as a burst support & gravestone holder. I've just tested her main DPS potential. The main thing there is Zhongli + her own buff & res shred + geo resonance is a lot. I've done no real math but I liked it when using it more than Fischl + Rosaria (pre-C6). It also allows her to take advantage of better supports like Bennett & Zhongli. I will say the Rosaria + Fischl combo is likely stronger when they're both C6, but I feel like triggering superconduct becomes hard because of Xinyan's pyro & or the flex spots element.

I'd say instead of making her skill CD shorter, give it 2 charges of 18 seconds cooldown. She can either spam them both to stack charges for easy pyro AoE or pace it out for the physical buff. Extra levels from hitting multiple enemies would just breathe some skill/timing usage into it. Otherwise, I think their "fix" for her was the Redhorn Stonethresher claymore and the Husk of Opulent Dreams artifact set.

To me Electro Traveler is insufficient especially comparing their Burst to Beidou’s. The Energy Recharge gimmick fails quite a bit too and would be so much better if their E-skill had a shorter cool down.

Yes Electro Traveler, the Character who fills the role for an energy battery for the team but. needs its own energy to be filled as well after 1 cycle. Energy Powerbank.

@@odin1303 Most 4-stars have their potential fully unlocked the more constellations they have, they can't be at their best with C0. And it's not like everyone will forever be stuck with a C0 4-star anyway. There's always Yunjin and Gorou to make her better in dealing damage but it's not like we all have Itto either. Add to that, she's the best one you can use to beat the Geo cube for ascension mats, she has that going on for her.

@@salceds She’s still locked behind her Max potential by her last constellation which is still not as good as 5 star dps . Fischl Sucrose Xingqiu and Xiangling for example all still do great dmg and buffing at c0, they’re constellations just buff what they already do to the max. Noelles constellation completely does a twist on her defence turning into atk showing how lacklustre she is without her constellation

To be fair, it's freaking r5 rust. Your fischl gets 80% normal atk dmg increase from the passive alone. But yeah I prefer Phys Fischl than Xinyan

That was obvious, inevitable, predictable, decided by destiny. It would be a surprise if she was dealing less DMG than Xinyan..

It’s not that overload is weak it’s just that triggering it causes enemies to be knocked away which is why it’s more preferred to be used with range characters like Yoimiya or Yanfei. Your team has 2 characters that have high damage output which get amplified by Bennett. You could remove Xinyan from that team and still do just fine.

See this idea has a problem similarly to how people build Albedo. You need Atk percentage for the source of damage like her burst and Normal Attacks. Albedo’s E skill scales purely from defense but his Burst damage comes from Atk which gets further improved by his C2 which adds more damage by 30% of his Def.

But the very fact that Eula's primary burst damage is physical means her burst is physical. Xinyan's burst also deals pyro damage.

I disagree with her burst being pyro damage, they should further push forward the pyro physical dps/sub dps since that is the niche that only she have the potential to become (honestly physical xiangling prob do better job than her right now) Her number is just terrible be it in normal attack or burst, and her skill is pretty much useless

i feel like xinyan is split between her element and phys dmg, atk and def, being suited towards bosses and mobs, and lastly doing dmg and supporting ALL at the same time.

@@ggggmmm71 The Phys Buff and Xinyan does isn’t something I see to benefit other characters. Physical resistances are set higher than most except on human types.

The term you want is Burst Dmg Dealer. Burst support would be something like Gorou or Sara where they specifically buff allies. Burst Dmg Dealer just pops in does their Burst and gets swapped out.

The bonus damage while shield is active is incredibly ironic in my opinion. Isn't taking hits the point of a shield? I feel like it defeats the purpose of having a shield in the first place.

@@crashsparrow6943 That's how shields work in Genshin in general. There are only two to four shields in the entire game, depending what you're fighting, strong enough to take more than one or two hits. Most shields just reduce one attack's damage by the shield's health. Because of geo resonance and sets like Bolide/the geo weapons, however, shields functionally increase damage in a lot of ways. Think of them less like shields that block damage, and more like buffs that go away if you get hit.

@@ingenuitypulse6254 Okay, so Zhongli's shield is one shield. Noelle's shield is another shield. That makes two. A third shield is Yanfei's. All these shields are not identical, either in how they function (Zhongli and Noelle both get 50% bonus resistance to every damage type, Zhongli's also increases in strength each time you take a hit, Zhongli's lasts 20 seconds while Noelle's lasts 12 seconds and Yanfei's lasts 15 seconds BUT Noelle also has yet another shield (that's four so far) that lasts 20 seconds and has higher scaling than her normal one, and Yanfei's offers 150% extra resistance to pyro damage) or in their max strength (Noelle's passive shield is the strongest in the game in terms of strength, followed by Yanfei's, then Zhongli's, then Noelle's E shield, though in terms of actual effectiveness at blocking anything but pyro, it (generally) goes Zhongli > Noelle passive > Noelle E > Yanfei). And those are not all the shields in the game, obviously. The fifth-best (or fourth if we only count Noelle once) is probably Diona's, simply because her shield strength bonuses are the only ones in the game that stack multiplicatively, allowing her to get pretty close to Yanfei's total shield health. Then there's Beidou, Thoma, Xinyan, etc... But for the most part, every shield that doesn't come from Zhongli, Noelle, Yanfei or sometimes Diona and also doesn't match the element of the damage you're taking is not actually good for blocking damage, because it will break in one or two hits (maybe three or four if you build the character in question around their shield, but an HP Beidou for example is really dumb because you could use characters with way stronger shields and not cripple your Beidou's insane Q and E damage). I am aware that the shields all reduce damage, and therefore "are shields." Clearly you failed to understand more than what I mean about "the number of shields," though. Relying on shields to block damage past earlygame is stupid unless that shield is Zhongli's or Noelle's (Yanfei's can take some hits, but still few enough compared to its duration and downtime that that's more like security in case you mess up a dodge, not freedom to keep attacking without dodging, like Zhong and Noelle afford you). EVERY shield in the game can come with buffs, and most are only worth bothering with if you do have geo resonance and/or retracing bolide, to increase shield strength as well as make having a shield give you a damage buff. But to reiterate, unless you have one of those two to four shield that are actually good (as in Zhongli or Noelle, or maybe Yanfei or Diona's shield, to reiterate again), whatever shield you have is going to break FAST if you take hits (or even A hit in most cases, once you're in later floors of Abyss or the final world level), and you're going to lose those buffs. Ordinary buffs, like, say, Amber's C6 movement speed buff when she uses her Q, do not go away if you get hit. Buffs you get from shields (whether it's geo resonance's 15% dmg and 20% geo shred, Xinyan's 15% phys dmg or retracing bolide's 35% normal and charged attack damage) are lost if you get hit, because you lose the shield if you get hit. If what I'm saying still isn't clear I give up, I've explained it as exhaustively as I can.
