Hi, I'm Abby! I am a US Army Musician! My goal here is to make enjoyable vlogs in my free time as my life is a bit abnormal. In 2019, I enlisted in the United States Army as a 42R - Musician! I originally started this channel as a way to document my weight loss journey and help others along the way. I’ve successfully maintained an 90lb weight loss for 6 years now and I’ve decided to shift the focus of my channel. I'm in a new chapter of life now. I got married, am in a new career (and PROMOTED!), and live on the opposite side of the country from my family. I hope you enjoying learning a bit about the Army and the lifestyle that goes along with it.
I Ship out 8/13 and you’ve helped me understand what’s to come in one video. I’ve watched quite a few and yours was the only one that helped! I need everything to process in the 4 days so I can start the following Monday. My BIL is graduating from his leadership course that same week and all of our family will already be there 😬
I was trying to find how to put my hair up in a bun to work with chopsticks and this is great. Thank you! You also gave me a piece of Marine Corps trivia my Marine vet didn't know, haha.
Dear Abby (or SPC.Weaver) or by now you could be Sgt Weaver..any how I'm sending this video to my daughter as she is in Choir and this morning we were in a rush to one of her choir concerts and couldn't get her bun correct but now I came across your video Thank Abby Hooaahh!!!. (I'm also a retired Army veteran of 31yrs.91B)
My hair is extremely curly and thin, and this video helped me so much. Everytime I would put it in a bun, it turned into a mountain that flopped over. But your tips helped me get it even and flat !
Abby…great videos! I was once where you are and ended up spending 24 years as a musician in the Army. Loved it. Your experiences resonate with me and brings back great memories! Please feel free to reach out to me!
I’m in the Air Force cadets and 99% of our squadrons make the female Cadets wear hair nets in their buns, because teenagers often can’t be trusted with flyaways, but now that I’m going to basic training I’m definitely going to be using hairnets on my buns as their just 100% easier
If you have short hair what appropriate hairstyle would I need to do? Because I have long curly hair and I’m planning to cut it short once I enter since I’ve always wanted it short. I also feel as if taking care of short curly hair would be better.
I always had [very] short hair in Army so was never really a problem. I know regulations allow pony tails now but if I'm successful in rejoining I'll likely be in airborne unit again and im 95% sure ponytails are not authorized for jumping (for safety reasons). My hair is still much shorter than yours! Maybe an inch or so past my shoulders. Thank you for video. Clear and easy to follow.
Love this video! My hair is about the same length so it helps me a lot. I was wondering what hair style do you use for wearing a helmet! Where do you put all those hairs? Thanks!
Nice job I did basic training at fort Bliss in 1982 always wanted to go back there and visit drill sergeant used to make a slow crawl in gravel there was one day when our first sergeant came in our barracks at about 4 in the morning answered most of the crap out I'm talking foot locker's air beds it was a lot different back then but when I look back at it I think everyone just spent two years in the stay safe
l leave for basic training at Fort Sill on Monday. Your videos are SUPER helpful and I love the details you go into and the way you deliver the message (some other youtubers are loud and a little intense). Thanks again!
thank you so much! i’m gonna be joining the army cadets soon n my hair is a NIGHTMARE to do anything with 😬😩 it never stays in place n is down to my waist/lower lol. super excited for the cadets n too see if military is a good path for me :)) thanks so much ❤
I'm not in the army but I'm a research intern and tomorrow is my first day working in the lab on my own and everyone reminded me to really tie my hair back! Thank you for the video, especially since my hair is the length of yours. I have confidence I won't set my hair on fire tomorrow :)
