I have been using a mirror for about 15 years. Last year I got a Garmin RCT715 radar/camera. While I really like the radar unit, if I had to choose one, it would definitely be the mirror. But I do really like the ability to know if a car is approaching without having to look back with the mirror. Sometimes, using just the mirror, you might not see a car, so the radar fills in that gap and ensures that you are not missing something. But like I said, the mirror is the most important safety device.
Thank You for sharing this interesting yet sad history lesson on a man that deserved celebration in a time that would not. It is most helpful to me as I enhance my Black History this Black History Month. Again. Thank you so much 🎉
Much appreciated, it’s a growing interest for my wife and I without a doubt. The money aspect is cool, but I’m in it for the combo meal of validation, dignity, and strength of family. Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it.
Got this video reccomended to me. The way you edit which is really basic and gives off that 'i like biking and i work a 9-5' is fascinating, more specifically, how we are all unique and different in our own ways. Not subbing but i did enjoy the video 👍
I have been a pro cycling fan since the 1980s, but the first I ever heard of him was 2-3 yrs ago, when my son found his bio at the bookstore and gave it to me at Christmas. When Biniam Girmay won his first classics race in 2022, the commentators made it plain that this was freakish because no non-European ancestried person had ever done this before. Because of the biography, I was stunned that no one mentioned Major Taylor. Apparently, no one who raced prior to WWII is even remembered.
That is an unfortunate truth. Prior to researching MT for the video, sadly I was not fully aware of his accomplishments either. However, I’m grateful that we are able to be a part of his legacy and remembrance.
A very great athlete.. But the same old news racism would spoil sport... I am following the story of Major Taylor.. One at one minute twenty. And there is more.
Much appreciated comment. Major Taylor was a BeAST in his day. I can only imagine how he would be with modern training, nutrition, and equipment. There was an article in Bicycle in February 2023 titled MT Finally Gets a Major Motion Picture-But the Filmmakers Need More Funding www.bicycling.com/culture/a42791583/major-taylor-documentary/ Hopefully, it will come into fruition.
Me neither especially since it's a utility closet in my garage. I mean, could you imagine if my wife came busting out of there Kool-Aid Man Style talking about, "Oh Yeah!!" 🤣🤓
Major Taylor is an amazing cyclist and even more amazing person. He was a man of character because of his faith in Jesus Christ. This was seen when he was racing. In spite of the white riders teaming up against him to prevent him from winning, he still would win and would do it with class. Literally, in the whole world of cycling, he was the Michael Jordan of his day. He is my hero.
Hello RU-vidr! Your content is very nice. But your video's SEO score is very low! If you can make SEO score of your content highly, then Subscribes, views and Watch Time will increase rapidly. Can I help you grow your channel?
@sanwuch (love the handle 🤣) believe it or not, a century on a trainer is more mentally painful than physically. To be clear, I did it in the winter season so had time indoors to build up tolerance. As for rocker plate, would be nice, my only out is the KickR Climb on Zwift so there was at least a little realism and movement. Thanks for your comment!
Blessings 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾 I watched some of the race and their were no commentary on his performance. Not even a mention I heard of during his tour. Cyclist do community service in communities, how come they never work with a group of young black riders. Loved following Lance, did he do community service? Black people donate to charity, but nothing coming back to them. Is black people money going to Ukraine? How come we fighting humanitarian causes around the globe, we fight for animal rights. Black people do not have the right to cycle and compete. It is VERY SADDENING that a people must fight for their rights. Can you believe that. Ukrainians are fighting for their rights, why? Why people must have to fight to live in this world. Sickening. Put your family, children in their shoes, their rights infringed upon. You afraid a black man/woman won the tour? Hey we afraid a white person win the tour as well, we afraid anybody wins the tour, that's why it called training and do best you can 🙂. Equal opportunities. Bless 🙏🏾
I've been following Major Taylor for over 30 years. His story is amazing and he will always be a hero of mine. May his soul rest in eternal peace. God bless you Major 🙏
Well, they didn't talk about him in History class but I've known about him for at least 50 years. In more recent history, 1985, I ran into Nelson Vails working as a bouncer in a night club. I think he was genuinely stoked that I knew who he was as I recounted being at '84 Olympics and witnessed the duel between Gorski and himself.
Nice!! Welcome to the insanity. The funniest thing was when I sent my mom a picture and she was all like, "I don't think you can ride that..." I about fell off the couch laughing. Definitely enjoy!!
Much appreciated, the Silver Comet Trail is a pretty special place. Hopefully in 2023, the post pandemic work rush will settling down and I will have time to make more content for IncluCycling. That and get my chubifying ass back on the bike. Thank you so much for your comment and be safe out there!
For me I always rode a bike but my rides were pretty short and I stayed mostly in my neighborhoods. Once my kids graduated from high school and they no longer had activities on the weekends that I would attend to encourage them and the my job responsibilities started to lessen allowed me to get more serious about cycling 🚴🏿♀️. I used to run a lot to pass my fitness tests in the military, but now that I am in 50s running hurts my hips too much…so that is another reason to ride my bike. Thanks for creating your channel 👍🏿
I’m in my 50s and can fully relate with kids, running for PT, and work load. Since the pandemic I’ve been struggling to find the right work-life balance as things picked up like crazy (no complaints 🙏🏾). That said, you would be surprised used how normal we are in the cycling world. Take your time, “retire” your heroes cape, and define enjoy the ride 🤓
Thanks for doing this! I started riding as early as the age of 7 all the way to the age of 12. Took a huge hiatus and returned at 29 and I love it now just when I was a kid! The benefits, the impact on the environment, everything! You’re definitely right though! It’s all about the ride!
