You are Never Too Old To Train. I am living proof of that. Currently 60 and setting personal bests in all aspects of my training. Love new challenges and new ways to express my physicality. Mix it up to keep it fun and train through the bad days. If I can do it you can too, no excuses now :)
How are you doing Mark? Haven’t seen much from you recently. Five years gone by. You were one of my early inspirations. I ended up with R distal bicep tendon rupture. Slipped on rings doing skin the cat. Super grateful for this video. It’s been a week and surgery is happening today. I’ve come back from an 18 months rehab after a paraglider accident dislocated shoulder T 9 crushed and shattered talas. Back flying and running. Here I go again. Life goes on. I’m inspired Thanks
Thanks Mark. Great video. I’m hoping for a surgery date today with my first visit to the surgeon after my accident two days ago. I’m a PT also. Slipped on the rings while doing a skin the cat. Lost my right bicep fortunately not my left too. 18 months ago I crashed my paraglider shattered talas i r ankle, broke T 9 and dislocated right shoulder. I was back running, learning hand stand and enjoying my rings. Shit happens I’m positive
Nice vids. Surgery for mine tomorrow. At 66, I get a good sense of what to expect. No problem. Six months I'll be fit and have some size and strength back. No more chasing numbers though!
@@Anomalous-Plant Thank you buddy. I haven’t stopped training and improving I just post much more on Instagram as the setup is much easier and quicker to get posts out. If you’re interested follow me at @marklidster.fitnessgeezer on Instagram
@@retrouvailles4084 IMO yes. You’d be better off better off getting a 10KG bag, nailing the technique then purchase a 15 or 20kg one as well. That way you can use the 10KG for warm ups and strength endurance and power work and the 20 kg for pure strength work. Doing it this way also massively reduces the risk of injury and increases motivation as the moves will be easier to attain
@@MarkLidsterfitnessgeezer okay thanks info, i think id buy 15kg, i'm from Indonesia this one bag cost me 20 days of works Wage, i cant buy much,i hate economies but i still want to looks dope thanks for reccomendation
@@retrouvailles4084 Thank you for the sub. FYI when I first started I didn’t buy one I made three from a truck tyre inner tubes filled with sand. Then I cable tied the ends and wrapped black at the ends to form the handles. That way I could have different weights for much less cost. There are plenty of you tube vids on how to do this if you’re interested, just look up diy Bulgarian bag. Good luck
Hello Mark. Would like to try this. 70 y.o. and close to 71. Already can do rings support, 35 seconds. Raised knee as close as I can to the chest, 30 seconds on the parallettes. Regular push ups, 25. So, my planche journey has just kicked off. Thanks for the inspirational video.
Tomorrow going to start a circuit with battle rope, Bulgarian Bags, kettlebells (both, swings and dynamic rotations), squats and lunges with BB and KB, planks, push ups, pull ups and deadhangs
I know it was a while ago but thank you for this series of videos. I am 39 and now 10 weeks post surgery. Ruptured my DB playing rugby 2 years after I'd retired from playing due to not wanting any serious injuries 🙈 I watched all the videos the day after the injury knowing I'd need surgery, and it gave me hope. I was in a dark place and I thought I wouldn't be able to train anywhere near like what I did before, and the gym and exercise in general is my escape. 10 weeks on (which isn't that long really) I've just started to work bilaterally again and feeling good. Not lost much size and the strength is coming along. The hardest part is not going for it and to follow the rehab routine. Thanks again 🦾
@@robharding9410 Good to hear the recovery is going well Rob. Just be patient and consistent and there’s no reason why you can’t regain your previous strength levels and beyond. I’m living proof of that at 61yrs, stronger now than before 😊
@MarkLidsterfitnessgeezer I'd love to progress as you have but I wouldn't have a clue where to even begin .. I've zero experience and zero equipment.. how did you know what to even start with
@@garrettkelly5568 Hi Garret I’ll answer here in response to your question where do I start. A great place would be to watch my video starting calisthenics at any age. Here’s the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-02dyKc1mQOk.htmlsi=zP5DceZVqnj3GMSH Good luck
@MarkLidsterfitnessgeezer I'm firing questions here on different videos sorry about that .. I'd love to get started but I've no idea how or where to begin .. I'm 45 and starting so it's motivation to know you did it at around this time ..
