Jon Boats, Mud Motors... and things that make you want to yell "YEE YEE." This channel provides information, education, and entertainment on the subject of jon boats, mud motors, and boat customization. Follow along through our multiple project series as we showcase various methods of building and modifying jon boats, mud boats, fishing boats, hunting boats, and boats just for fun. We also review and test a full range of mud motors and performance upgrades for the mud motor speed junkies like us.
Lmao my guy....did you not see the giant crack that appeared when you lifted the boat up???? Or how bad it was flexing when standing on it ????ya I'm sure it worked just perfect huh smh
Awesome stuff dude. Check out a place called “ wicks” for odd parts with aluminum and the yard store for tooling with rivets. Everything you’re doing is kinda in a way aviation stuff. They way you did it works end of the day man got it done🫡. In the future etch and alodien the metal dramatically help with corrosion. Spread that sealant all over the surface from one end to the other and bolt or cleco squeeze the two surfaces together. Then lay out either a lot of smaller rivets in a checker board pattern and squeeze them in wet with sealer. Or use big rivets and do doublers or strips or metal on the back of your transom no need for washers then. Just watch some aviation sheet metal videos or something prolly. Be better informed for ya than me. Again love your setup dude really wana do the same in the future can’t thank you enough for all the videos dude bravo getter done build buddy! Cheers 🍻
I copied your transom you did every part of it. When I installed the angle aluminum in the corners the bolts kinda I mean just a little pulled the sides in when I tightened them down. Not enough to see but I saw it when I tightened it. Is that okay to leave ?
trols lmfao, turquers lmao, who dose that for get the 2nd couszzz lol lets do this man i think it looks great nice job is your beard realy glued on lmfao rog,,, i got no goofie friends dam ,, braging rights cuze i can ... what happend to your friend did he pass out in the corner .. im old school 60 od my wife bought me knee pads i told her back in the day we would never bee seen using knee pads SHE DID NOT GET IT .......scuter ran out of med's an proly crashed a black helocopter WTH,, in the haters corner ... hey i think it came out pritty nice there great job
I would highly recomend getting an air powered rivet puller. Will solve your tight corner pull problems and sooooo much time/fatigue in the long run if you do a lot of boat work.
sigh, you do not need to put the heat shrinks and connector into the FLAME! hold the flame next to it and keep the shrink moving a bit to warm up the largest area you can at once. i will also say that the mini torch lighters work even better, but again, you just need the heat, not the flame, otherwise you burn and blacken it like you did.
It's hard to find a sheltered elevated location on a Jon boat, but surely there is a place other than on the floor of the boat to locate that panel and that other visible wiring. If not, then maybe better to construct a more elevated position. Once saw a Jon boat with a similar fuse and switch panel in a weatherproof box.
I had Backwater floatation pods welded on my G3 1652. With a 60 hp. four stroke outboard, two batteries, 12 gallons of fuel and two adults, it squats in the stern. The pods helped with this issue, however, now I am experiencing problems with porpoising. I am not able to stop this with the motor trimmed all the way down. Have you ever experienced this problem and how would you solve it. Thanks.
filling the pod with sprayed closed cell foam would seal and displace water so that the pod will never have water in it to begin with, meaning you wouldnt need those drain plugs you have.
May as well just buy some fiber glass and seal it since you are using resin. Waste of time all that sanding. Sand once before wetting out the board then add the fabric and you are done.
The biggest problem with the more premium brands in Australia at least is that routable two tone for diy installation is non existent. It's a solid colour or custom cnc installation or nothing. And I will tell you right now the Seadeck ect. Installers can jam $3k plus for.a 14.5 foot boat fair up their unmentionable regions. So that leaves ebay unfortunately.. I like your channel though, nice work.
Thinking about building a brace like this for an untraditional vegetation runner. In your opinion, would this help prevent some of the torqueing damage caused by a surface drive on a mod v like a grizzly 1754 or 1860?
