Resources and techniques related to how I became my own medicine and got myself out of years of chronic pain. I suffered from the stress illness TMS (Tension Myositis Syndrome or the The Mindbody Syndrome coined by Dr John Sarno) for years until I found the work of Dr Sarno and his successors.
To fully recover I used education, movement (yoga), journalling, meditation and mindset retraining. Check out my website for more information and all the resources I used.
The problem is when you have symptoms on top of pain there is no way to know for sure what is going on. Pain is also a warning of something yet just because you can’t get a diagnosis does not mean nothing is wrong or on the flip side it’s in fact TMS. I’m doing the work because what other choice do I have but it’s very hard to not have that fear running in the back that something is in fact wrong besides the brain going crazy. I love this work don’t get me wrong. I believe in it it’s just it’s hard to tell since most of these stories are so blatantly obvious to those that understand it that they have TMS ie I woke up one day to it etc I had a bad injury 5 years ago head neck while nothing has worked 38 therapists and while no doc can tell me what it is … I mean therapists always can go on and on and differ in their theories I’d like to hear that post injuries years later can possibly be TMS
Again, I love your content. You really break it down. I just wish insurance companies would cover stuff like this. But I guess it's considered new medicine and sometimes. Medical personnel doesn't even recognize it..
Do you know of any coaches that are less than £70 a week dani? Over 200 symptoms and bed bound, can’t afford expensive courses or coaching but desperate to have 1.1 help :(
Hi love, I'm not sure what others charge I'm afraid. I healed for free just following the steps in my recovery roadmap tho thats free. mytmsjourney.com/recovery-journey-roadmap/ there are six steps xx
Have been divinely guided to this interview. I have been trying while I’ll to weave Brain retraining and learn somatic experiencing and now I see this. A big trigger is the beilief that “it is all up to me”. What a relief to see you have put this together- I feel a deep knowing this is wonderful work will help me.
Thanks for sharing I have a question what about menapause symptoms like anxiety and stuff does this stuff cause danger in the brain too I am going threw it right now and my Tms symptoms seem to go up during this time do I just deal with it the same as I have been doing thanks and I do an exercise workout every more that helps my body and mind too
Absolutely hormones affect the nervous system and can increase anxiety/symptoms. Up the levels of self-care, nervous system regulation, movment, meditation etc it really helps xx
There is a mind-body element to all pain, so whether its initiallly an "injury" or a "pull", which will heal in a couple of weeks usually, the fear and attention you give the pain will always exacerbate it. How are you feeling now? x
@@mytmsjourney thanku.. its 6 weeks in and super tight or painful after small things.. I had tms prior to this in breast so I presume its moved to back injury.. i really want to go bsck to gym and live my normal life.. chronic pain is .. just tough.. I have read the books and listened to all testimonials and i belive.. so ill just keep applying the tms principles
@@elizabethtara7658 Sometimes more nervous system work is required as oppose to just the intellectual learning stuff, if youre stuckin a state of fear and fight flight about it, then its unlikely to budge on its own. Check out the recovery roadmap on mytmsjourney.com to find out more about emotional work and soothing x
OMG that's my story!!! 😓😓😓😓 pain of everything and extremely exhaustion Many many diagnosis - fibro , chronic lyme , maybe first phase od MS , ibs , EBV also breast implants illness! everything! Im so young , I was always sooo active Now i'm a mass , no releaf 😓😓😓😓
My coach says, "It's not what we do that impacts symptoms. It's what we THINK about what we do." That makes sense because the symptoms are caused by the brain.
I’d give anything right now to become a success story, I journal, read the books, a bit of mediation and read success stories and yet zero improvement 😢 Also all the success stories seem to be ‘back spasms’ in clear relation to a situation - mine is just a chronic soreness/ache for 5 years
what are you doing to regulate your nervous system? What is your relationship with yourself like? Nervous sytem health is the key, but you cant really heal if yourea t war with yoruself and your symptoms x
@@mytmsjourney just meditation for my nervous system. Tried a few vagus nerve bits but couldn’t feel anything. Thanks - yeah maybe one day I’ll get somewhere but I’ve kind of given up
Love love LOVE this!!!! Thank you all. I am off to check out the Chronic Fatigue School, I love that this course brings it all together, as you say. Ps I love so many bits to this, but I think my fave is when Karden says at 1:03:12 about how ‘the body is a permanent truth teller…..always presenting the state that the limbic system/brain stem is in.’ So powerful.
Tms has not helped me connective tissue disease at all and that includes all sarno books, Dr schubiner course. Dnrs has helped me alot so far. Still early days but staying out of my emotional brain has improved dramatically
Glad to hear you're finding relief, the right combo of practices is different between individuals sometimes, not everyone needs emotional excavation, fear is one of the biggest components and can make symptoms chronic on its own. 🙏
Dani it's so great to see you back on RU-vid. I'm suffering from the flu at the moment and feeling ghastly but putting my headphones on and relaxing to this under my heated blanket is the best therapy! Thanks for all you do and Merry Christmas to you and everyone out there who suffers but never gives up, we should all be proud of ourselves.💕🎄
Thank you love!! I hate being on video but once I'm doing it it's fine and so rewarding. The fab company made it so much fun too, glad you enjoyed ❤️❤️❤️
Even having been a patient of Dr Sarno's for 25 years & going to a TMS trained therapist for 9 years (she was referred to me by Sarno), I didn't heal, really get it till I first saw Documentary All The Rage, found Nicole Sachs did it ALL finally click. I love this "cult" if that's what it is. I am so grateful for all you all do.
This was a fantastic interview. I really loved it, and so much resonated with my experience regarding anger and resentment and joy, and how that creates the conditions for health or illness.
I think Dan changed his brain. But this takes daily practice in the beginning. He may not have daily practice now but his brain learned a new language that is always going in his head now. U can’t get where he is by caring less one day. He has created a pause moment when he feels a twinge. That’s the goal of most therapy creating a pause before u react to a trigger. This takes practice. IMO do the work feel the feelings. Then do some of danis yoga whilst listening to Nicole and I promise u will heal! Watch Dan too I’m a fan of his as well.
How did she stop taking the tramadol after 10 years? Did I miss that part? That is not something one can just quit, due to body dependence & would love to know. Out stories are so similar.
Great interview. I know TMS people say don't do any treatments. However, I use reiki on myself and I find it comforting and soothing so I feel it's right for me.
Brilliant interview, I am obsessed with noise, I drive everyone crazy so I feel much better to hear people like me. These interviews are really helping me. Thank you.
