I am a railway enthusiast from South-East England, who visits various heritage railways, miniature railways, model railway exhibitions, and a lot more around the country.
Everything I get up to can be found here on Facebook, as well as my own model railways, and other bits and pieces along the way.
As you can see my channel is relatively small, so any support or feedback is always greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy your time here.
All those trains with no drivers in cabs or passengers inside. You would think Erith modelling would run networkers or 465s and 365s, that what i drove through Erith, but before that EPBs 415/6s.
Thank you. Barnards Miniature Railway runs round the grounds of Barnards Farm, a garden estate near West Horndon, Brentwood, Essex. Only 10 mins from the M25. barnardsminiaturerailway.eu I am bias because I've been working there for over 6 years, but a fantastic place. Nathan
In spite of the gloomy day all participants seemed to be cheerful and enjoying the ride. It was a pleasure to view this video. Merry Christmas and may God's blessing be with you.😎🚂🚃🚃🚃✝
She’s been around visiting other railways during the year. I came across her on the West Somerset in the Spring: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nZqBxAhp7XE.html
I had a great day out on the Swanage Railway on the exact same day this was filmed, utilising the diesel service from Wareham which is very handy and makes it a lot easier to get there. Thanks for posting this. Good video too.
Fantastic coverage of the heritage railways. I am convinced that the UK places 1st place in the world for heritage operations. It's refreshing that the British take such pride in preserving this wonderful history.😎🚂✝
Glad you enjoyed the day out. Apart from the connections at Alton, they often use a farm field close to Ropley station for car parking, rather than paying to park at Alresford station (a Winchester council one). They advertise this under special events on their site, e.g. as they did a few weeks ago on the Vintage weekend which I went to: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mr7hrfUOuUg.html
Thank you for presenting these wonderful heritage railway videos. I am impressed with the way the facilities are maintained and the lovely landscaping at the various railway stations. The operations are precise and professional.😎😺🐕✝
Gary, total mileage from Wareham to Swanage is 11, as @LittlewodJunction says above it is 5.5 miles Norden to Swanage. You have to be careful as the mileage posts on the Swanage Branch are measured via "The Old Road" (via Ringwood) and the mainline is measured on the direct route via Bournemouth.
The yellow coaches you see at the start belong to the PWAY maintenance crew, they look after the heavy stuff and have out done themselves with track work for the Autumn Gala that happened the weekend.
I have travelled on this many years ago. It was a loveley day out. Looking at the way the train was shaking though, it would appear that the line needs a bit of investment and maintenance.
From what I understand, a typical grey and yellow 'dutch' livery found across alot of the diesel fleet from the 1980's. Not my specialist subject unfortunately. Nathan
Thanks for the comment. At the moment the branch line extension to Lake End is being constructed by our team. Recently we have finished construction of all of the track panels, and ahead of us is the usual connecting and tamping so we can run public trains along it. This means that we are NOT running any passenger trains to Lake End, feel free to ask sometime in the future as I may be able to give you a better answer then. - Nathan
Thank you, Strood station is on the route, as it is close to Rochester station it has to be included so you can actually drive in / out of it. - Nathan
Nice on board video. The feeling of express speed when your that low down is great one of the reasons I do enjoy Romney. The wind out on the shingle at dungeness can be a real pain when filming
Thank you, the lens were around 0.5% I think (rather than 1%) for some of the on-board shots - definitely helps. I also walked down to the beach at Dungeness and I can confirm.... it was VERY windy. :) - Nathan
