Retro Tech Select covers all things retro with a focus on classic video games and media. Topics include hardware, software, film, and picture quality - as well as modern machinery that helps vintage kit perform its best today!
Current series: Kit Reviews -- putting old hardware, new clones, and accessories through their paces. Game Reviews -- all games from previous gens are fair play. NES, Genesis, Xbox and more. Pick 60 -- a different take on game haul videos: how many classic titles can be had for the cost of one new game? Features -- the wild West! These could be "Top 12" lists, comparison videos, or even dives into vintage home video. Bit Sized -- spur of the moment "side-quests." Short and sweet videos on timely topics. Cut Content -- footage rescued from the cutting room floor. Content too cool to be left unpublished. Well Collected -- strategies and insights on ways to make collecting work on a budget.
100% on point. The coin challenge areas were my favorite part. I generally don’t like “tropical” biomes and that’s literally this whole game, more or less.

I actually recently picked up an RGB blaster and an AV Famicom and have been using that to capture footage. I’ve actually been training an ESRGAN model to convert composite NES footage to RGB. It works fairly well, but because there seem to be slight differences between the even and odd fields in terms of positioning or something, you do get a bit of flicker/jitter on 60fps footage.
@@inderjeetuppal6462 I will probably take grief for this, but I think TCL 4K TVs are a great value for money. Not the highest end devices, but they are inexpensive and perform well. RetroTINK products are the gold standard for upscaling right now. The TINK 4K is the top of the line, but the RT5X is going to be all that most folks will need. The 2X line is also excellent and much more afforable, but it lacks a lot of the features that the newer models have.
I really hope we get a "Definitive Edition" on the Switch 2 that adds collision detection and fixes some issues with affinity quests, etc. That, and an X2! :)

Do you think it's worth worth getting the 5X (using 1080p) even if I have a 4k TV? I just don't know if it's that much of a difference for almost double the price.
