Honestly, I don’t like how the first three KsE albums sound. The production, especially the guitar tone, feels unfinished, like a demo almost. As Daylight Dies sounds and feels like the first proper production from them. Just me though.
Metal is inherently a more male genre. Of course there are women who like and play it, but there are always going to be more men making it and if for no other reason there aren't going to be as many good metal bands with women in them (I think there are other reasons as well.)
Great vid! I was a metal fan (Sabbath, Zeppelin, Rush) when the Pistols hit. But I was blown away by the energy of that record that I named "violence on vinyl." Still love it.
What's up with the channel and where is Owen? Will there be more videos soon? Thanks so much for all of your hard work to produce these. Always look forward to them. Hope all is well with you and your family Owen.
When I was starting out 49 years ago I had one mic. A mic from RadioShack . Since then the one thing I always do to get the sound I want is MIC PLACEMENT! Loudly placed Neman will record perfectly the sound you placed the mic in front of. If you choose the wrong spot, you will record junk perfectly. Place a cheep mic in the right spot it will sound amazing. Learn mic placement. One of the big secrets of a great recording is not found on the Internet. The secret is DO.
My thought was, it was always a cab with a fried speaker in it possibly maybe even done on purpose they may have slipped the cone a little bit. That was what I always figured was going on. 12:47
I go into intricate detail down to album cover copying and the 1st wave origins along with Death etc being ripped off. It's a bit fkn detailed to be rage bait.
@@CIRCLEOFTONE good deal,I know man,I had to trade all the big amps for combo amps,at 51 I'm more of a builder of guitars......it isn't bad tho,I love woodworking, and a lot of the handtools are Uber old and collectible!! Man I've been watching your channel for at least 6 or 7 years, the first video was the Epi with the vintage pickups,I actually rewatched a few!My fav videos are your John Sykes,John McGeoch,Type O,The Cult, and some of those tOCK songs are badass
@@CIRCLEOFTONE I kept trying the band thing, and either a drummer or bassist would wash up on me,well everyone has always brought me their guitars to work on over the years and the first thing my dad showed me was a barre chord and how to move it around, how to tune, and how to check harmonics with a tuner,so I've kinda always been inclined to working on them, but I love learning tho,new scales or songs or tips for sound.but you onbthe other hand you have a gift,a real gift of figuring out how to get the best sounds, and making those videos,i can't wait for the next ones
Godforbid, you try to use cash at these arenas. Sorry, your kind don't apply here. Only the plastic master accepted. Boycott all live Nation events till they are on their knees begging for sales.
Yeah and the gov and doing a Wrestling promo pretending they are suing them. It's purely theater because lobbyists write the bills that Ticketmaster etc take advantage of.
What happened with gamergate is broadly emblematic of what has happened with all forms of art/entertainment - what passes for comedy these days is another classic example. The ruling class during the golden age of rock and metal encouraged subversive entertainment all in the name of destroying what little remnant was left of traditional morality in western countries. Now their objectives have been achieved, they basically rule openly, and anyone who isn't in lockstep with the orthodoxy of the regime gets blacklisted and subjected to smear campaigns, etc. a la Mel Gibson, whose career has never recovered. White men, who were always the lifeblood of rock and metal, must behave in a way that is appropriately apologetic, in other words they don't get to keep their balls if they want a seat at the table. So you'll never have a Lemmy, you'll never have a Peter Steele, you couldn't even have a Dimebag Darrell or a Phil Anselmo back in his prime. The DAWs and other things you talk about are a huge part of it, but I think this is at the heart of what sucks about everything now, and my apologies if I'm just stating the obvious. You're obviously a man who still has his balls, but if you gave them up and acted more ghey, I bet your channel would be a lot bigger due to the algorithm. Also, whatever is going on with you personally, I'm very sorry and I hope things get better for you. Your channel has the best insights and most interesting music content I've found, I'm just sorry I found it so late in the game. God bless you man, and cheers to you for keeping your balls.
Yep. If only the far left who CRAVE and demand cancel culture knew that its lobbyists/war profiteers/slum lords that are behind the cancel culture narrative. The end game is to remove all yputube/social media comments and silence anyone questioning the MSM narrative. They don't give a crap about minority groups. They just use them as a tool.
@@CIRCLEOFTONE Exactly. Their buzzwords usually mean the exact opposite of what they say they mean, and their proxy warriors and useful idiots blindly lap it up every time. For example diversity, it means the exact opposite of what they mean because their vision for the future is a mass of racially indistinguishable consumers with no connection to the past, ethnicity, etc. Even when I was in my extreme alt right/WN phase, I lost cred online for saying I cared more about black people than BLM says they do. They have hijacked the meaning of words that we depend on to describe reality, so of course things are insane now.
I'll be honest and say I've despised true WN etc people more than the lunatic green haired lefty fringe. One of my best mates/role models growing up was black. Both cultures have been infiltrated by lobbyists to be a tool in the MSM agenda. Lobbyists take the lunatic fringe on the left and the right (esp white female guilt) and use them like puppets.
Black metal is the only metal that matters. It’s an art and if you don’t get it it’s sensitivity/intelligence thing and ok go play your thrash or heavy. We don’t give a fck about metal, metal community, fckin solos, beer and moshpits. It’s art.
I feel like all the hate for HM2 (historically) is from internet critics and contrarian trolls. Because many of the most beloved albums in the 90s used it
With rhe pedal you have here roll the tone back and volume. You've got too much splatty high end. The album tone is barely breaking up and fills the low mids.
You mean every single thing that flopped despite the whole world craving anything Pistols? So he went from performing the bass and guitars on one of the greatest golden platters of rock/punk perfection to suddenly losing the magic touch? On everything?
There was a very good classic albums documentary about the making of ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’ where the producer Chris Thomas talks in great depth about the recording process and Steve Jones’s contribution, he praises his technique and how tight his playing is and how he added the bass lines as root notes so that they sit underneath the main guitar track and form a very strong dynamic; it is this along with Rotten’s vocal phrasing that is the essence of the Sex Pistols appeal. The Chris Spedding rumour has been doing the rounds for years but is not the truth, he did produce the pistols ‘Spunk’ bootleg however.
I saw them live a month ago and i can 100% confirm he IS USING MARSHALL JCM800's, he also was using a strat, but it was a strat with a basic seymour duncan pickup, I tried out a hss stratocaster through a rat and an 800 at my local store and got the EXACT tone immediately
Hey there.....First off...I do have 2 of these axes......one still in the box....the other was a gift for my stepdaughter. ..of which it got a little beat up....and she gave it back....with damage visible to the tone/volume knobs......anyway ....it looks like you know your way around a guitar pretty well.....and also can plug it in....and.. rock it out....Freakin Awesome man.
Chemistry of all 5 of them jus amazing. Izzy imo is the shit great songwriter. He wrote most there greatness. APPETITE AND LIES RULE. THEY SUCKED AFTER IZZY LEFT AND STEVEN
