I knew Tommy in Boulder in 1971-73. I saw him perform with Zephyr and Energy all the time. He was a modest, humble kinda guy who would “give you the shirt off his back.” You’re never forgotten Tommy. ♥️🙏🏻

This might be the best in depth look at the Alice Cooper Band on youtube. They were an awesome band and the albums they gave us will live forever. It is so good to see the reverence and love that Alice has for the guys, and they still work together and remain friends. When Alice went solo, he could not have wished for a better band in guitarists/songwriters Steve Hunter and Dick Wagner with Prakash John on bass. Just listen to the absolute sonic bliss of their live performance of Sweet Jane, the opening track of Lou Reed's live album, Rock and Roll Animal to get a feel for the professionalism and prowess of the three. That intro is arguably the greatest piece of rock music ever captured.

I still have my original vinyls of his two albums and both on CD as well. Can never make up my mind which album I like better. People who have never heard of him almost always love his music at first listen and that is a great tribute. Peace!

What a beautifully and respectfully done biography of Peter Green. Thank you for this! I learned a lot about him. I wonder what became of his 59 LP. At 8:08 you showed a picture of him in a long coat and scarf. With him in that outfit and with all his drug abuse issues, it made me think, was the great and tragic character of Withnail (from the movie Withnail and I) in part inspired by Green? Thanks again!

Their music never sounded polished to me. Always like a garage recording. And as far as using ghost musicians. That is nothing new.

Sounds like just a matter of timing. Bowie was an existing star, Stevie was an upcoming star. Stevie might not have made his big rise if he’d rode with Bowie on tour as part of the band. If he’d already been big _before_ Bowie came along, they could’ve toured as equals. Smh, just a matter of timing.

I was fortunate enough to see my 2 fav guitar players in Albuquerque in 1976, Tommy opening for Carlos Santana. Been to many, many shows and have seen almost all of the guitar masters and let me tell you, Tommy was so incredibly talented. I was blown away by him and to this day he is my #2 fav and if he wouldnt have passed so early omg who knows how much better he would have become RIP

I love that your giving this band some shine, but the editing is way off. Showing a photo of Ariel B. when talking about Mick Ralphs, Talking about the bands early days then showing a pic. of the 1974 tour. Sorry.

Saw Tommy several times at local clubs in Boulder with Zephyr. My friends and I used to play touch football with him on Goss street and City Park. A nice down to earth guy.

Jim croce will live on in music history for a LONG time to come. Im 34 now, and while i had known the big hits (you dont mess around with jim, and leroy brown) most my life, I really discovered his music about 10 years ago. Since then he has been my hands down favorite song write of all time. And truly, I prefer the few live or 'rough' versions of his songs because they only feature just jim, maury and their guitars, or just jim and his. Maurys licks are fucking perfect. I really discovered them because I had been learning guitar (mostly acoustic) for about a year and wanted to find some fun acoustic song to play (mostly with my fingers) and I looked up you dont mess around with jim, which then sent me down the croce rabbit hole. Literally every song is a gem, and the way he words basically everything is truly second to no one else (even as a bob dylan fan, croce is far superior song writer in my opinion). Also, I saw AJ croces "Croce plays Croce" last fall, and it was maybe my favorite show of all time. Ive seens dozens and dozens of shows (no idea how many), and I have seen hundreds of live artists including many older acts (deep purple, robert plant, zz top, stix, furthur ect) and there was something truly special seeing AJ embrace his fathers music. Also, AJ is a phenomenal musician. Everyone whos a croce fan should go see AJ.

Tommy Bolin was an average guitarist, I've heard a lot of his playing, and there wasn't anything exciting, or fresh and new, or innovative about it, just average.

I’m always struck by the LOUD and COMPLEX guitar weave between Bell and Chilton. Certainly doesn’t hearken back to the British Invasion or reflect the often bombastic guitar style of their era. They were just 20 years old when they made their only record together. It still blows my mind. This is an ABSOLUTELY first-rate video documentary. All I can say is thank you.

It's interesting because when Gibson released the Appetite for Destruction Les Paul it didn't have Seymour Duncans. What was Gibson thinking? It sure makes that company look like boneheads.

The Les Paul replica Slash originally played and recorded with, was built by my brother, the late Peter Max Baranet. Slash has said in interviews that he owns 2 Max guitars that he now keeps stored in a vault. He only uses them for recording.
