Formerly the channel Shape Shifters Den. Mover's Odyssey explores the embodied, natural self through human movement and internal awareness. Learning new movement skills, when done with focused mindfulness, is a form a self transformation seen in ancient art and modern martial arts and movement arts around the world.
Know the self Accept the self Be the creator of self
never seen any of these videos from this group before but damn im impressed af with the animations. are these something yall came up with on your own or did yall find these somewhere else?
Just curious, I'm a feminine male, if I use my twitch fibers which in turn generate more testosterone, will that make me more masculine? Or will I simply still look the way I do, just with more defined muscles?
Confused about why sprinting in sand is glorified when we have evidence that shows our bodies limit our force production when we're on unstable surfaces. If we're sprint training for maximum Type-1 muscle fiber recruitment, why would we limit our peak force production?
BOY ... ALL THESE ARE ALSO POSES TO YOGA. MENTIONED SINCE THOUSENDS OF YEARS. ASANS ARE CALLED = DAND BAITHAK, PAWAN MUKTASAN. ALWAYS MENTION THIS FACT.
I use a cintiq, it's a computer screen you can draw onto with a stylus. Then I just screen record the illustrations, speed them up, talk over the video and add some graphics.
It would be nice to also see an actual person doing these movements. Great information here, but there's no way I can do the windmill with a 35lb KB. I'll have to start with the unweighted version.
This one is tricky for me… flat-footed and with my biceps on my knees, I’m finding it very hard to “rest” without rolling backward, so my default is to raise my heels to maintain better balance while on my toes… odd?
Couldn't get past the intro. The running isn't what's shaping the muscles. The muscles are being shaped for optimal performance to the type of running. Less muscle mass is easier to move with less fuel. Simple science.
Every time I long distance run I lose fat and muscle, and end up looking somewhat soft and thin. Every time I switch my cardio to sprinting, I keep all my muscle and I start to look more ripped. It's the same with every training partner I've ever had. Both burn calories but sprinting works the fast twitch fibers and creates very large growth hormone spikes which is muscle preserving. No one said the running shapes the muscles (although in the thighs and glutes it certainly does), but it will let you keep the muscles you gain from strength training.
Great video! What really helps when training to nosebreathe is taking a gulp of water when running and keeping it in the mouth for as long as possible (e.g. when you run past an acquaintance that you have to greet 😀). This slows you down at the beginning but makes it very clear whether you are breathing correctly or not.
This is fricking amazing. Great explanation and progressions. Starting my journey now, 55 years old. I already have my splits perfected so needed a new "project" besides strength training. Lord knows I need the shoulder mobility. Cheers
Back when I used to have a jog program around my neighborhood, there was always one point near the end, at the bottom of a long, long downwards street, like slightly more than a 45 degree incline. I would jog down to the bottom of the hill, take a small break to stretch a bit, and then try to sprint up the hill as fast as I could go. Always my favorite part of the run.
Start your own channel and do it that way. This channel uses animated graphics and it’s very clear and informative. Each position, muscle labeling, muscle high lights, sketching and shading in…it’s actually a really well done production.
I have a friend who has a hard time nasal breathing because of some surgery he had as a little kid. His family never decided to fix it and i think he has a little of every trait you talked abt in this video. Hes the top wrestler on our school team but socially and spatially awkward. I think he was cheated out of his destiny as a chad 🤦♂️
