I soooo appreciate you sharing your experience. So many of us were living in turmoil. My experience has left me extremely isolated and lonely. I wasted the best years of my life. Worst of all I was not even serving God or faithful to Jesus. I was being taught and was teaching others lies. I was in a cult.

I understand what Tijuana means exactly. Some witnesses follow the letter of the law but not the spirit in order to get a scriptural divorce. It doesn't make sense if you believe! So the only logical way out was the terrible choice the witnesses leave a young girl. I'm so very sorry Tijuana you went through that and I'm so glad it didn't happen. I also feel so strongly about the number of talented young witnesses who give up their dreams. It's so frustrating and I hope she fulfills all her wishes for the future.

Thanks for the expose`. I have listened to this young lady's channel several times and have found it deeply thought-provoking, particularly when discussing familiar bible accounts. Her ability to conceptualize, draw inferences and think critically attests to the benefits of a free mind, free from the constraints of a sole life-consuming dogma.

I am a fan of TC's channel. She is not on here trying to get off bashing Watchtower to get revenge. She looks at a topic with an opened mind and honestly and seeks the real truth. If Watchtower gets bashed or not is dependent on the facts and not feelings. I respect that.

Darn she was a religious slave and struggling for so many reason while a JW. Glad she got free to enjoy her real life. I know 4 JW women who were urged to marry secret gay brothers in the KH, later became divorced and quit the JW. Elders knew these men had the gay lifestyles but kept it secret from these young sisters. Sad

The analogy about the 2 waters, one with a little poison and the other with more poison comes from the JW Reasoning book. Exactly. We would not drink from either bottle. It's good that you could take an example from Watchtower's own book and turn it against them. All religion has falsehoods but it is the cultic Watchtower that shuns for questioning it and leaving it.

The reason why he changed when he became an elder: all the secret meetings and books and influences from other elders is to make a crack in the marriage. To make the organization more important than his personal and intimate relationship/s. This explains a lot but publishers are not aware.

My next door neighbor, the most loving precious person you could meet tried to recruit me. She even sent brothers to my house to ''study'' with me. When I started to ask her JW doctrinal type questions and about failed prophecies made by The Watchtower Society that's when the attitude and avoidance started. She is now trying to convince my mother to study with her. I have met many JW's and I can say they are all such nice people but lost.

Thank God you both got out of this cult.

Congregations are full of single sisters who had previously married worldly man or had worldly baby daddies before coming in to the org. Many of them ignore or dismiss married sisters marriage issues unless there is a public fail on the part of the brother; their ultimate goal is still to marry a brother.

You hear the same thing all the time read the Bible, pray, and go out in service more, but it doesn’t help, these people are on a different wave length. Telling people to read a few scriptures and to pray to Jehovah doesn’t resolve all problems.

It's TruthSeeker. Good to hear more of her story. So if her first attempt at marriage was to someone younger than her at age 19, that certainly was not a good fit and wise that the teenage kid backed out. But that is the pressure of youth courtship in the organization. Sad that you can carry around a trauma and think that something is so real even after 20 years of inactivity. Wonder what made her visit the memorial service 4 years ago. At least it is out of her system and she knows what is truth now.

Worldly People hear of things like this and want no part of it . The rank and file are part of it and support it without knowing it. It's a shame. It's like being a fan of a baseball club and don't know the names of most of the players , you have to know who is doing what and when and how

There 'use' to be a time, when prospective marriage couples would study a chapter or 2 out of the "Happy Family Life" book; with the Elder, who would officiate the over discourse/vows. Or both would consider that info together, as a couple. The Elder wa s supposed to confer w both, that that "preparation" was done before the wedding day. ??? ... Nice video. It was informative. One thing I also realized in the organization, is how many of us had the 411 on what's going on relationship wise on the outside. We were just too scared to really talk about what we knew and really needed to speak about. I never forget asking "So I have to be surprised and stay no matter what?!" No thank you. Also the ones saying " Wait for your Billy Dee Williams in paradise" had a warm crotch or cooch in their beds. 😕 Don't get me wrong, you don't want to blindly just get with someone out of desperation, that definitely wouldn't be smart. This sounds so familiar it doesn't matter how young or how old you are to be married in the religion it is down right miserable and it's your responsibility to make it work as the wife rather you need to service him more often or be more submissive, and so much more he is the head with no responsibility you have it all it's like driving a car with no steering wheel the wife can't be dominant and submissive at the same time you talk about having your cake 🍰 and eating it to.

Shunning My heart 💔 goes out to all who have experienced and still living through this devastating form of punishment and manipulation. I want to think that these organizations mean well because they truly believe the doctrine they teach is true and do not want their followers to be influenced by others who reject their doctrine, especially someone whose considered an apostate. Many groups and organizations practice what I call "pre shunning" or "upfront shunning" as opposed to "post-shunning" or "backend shunning;" whereby they encourage and often demand their followers to only fellowship with members only. One manipulative way they do this is keep the member so busy and creating everything (i.e., events, meetings, holidays etc) surrounding the organization and rewarding members for committing all their time to the organization so that eventually they have no contact or meaning relationships outside of the organization. Sadly, this more often excludes relatives.

When I clicked on this video I was like "wow, that's IAM TruthSeeker!" I subscribed to her a while back, precisely because she does critique the Bible, not just Watchtower. I didn't know she had history with y'all.

I am happy that this sister had the courage to take the path less traveled. So many just stay and at the end of their lives, they are just a living, breathing lump of misery while her husband goes through life receiving all the accolades of a Rock Star. Too many times, I have seen the entire cycle from its start to its inglorious finish. I grew up WITH spiritual sisters who had the MOST ideal, sweetest, genuine personalities that you've ever seen. They were real gems in lovely appearance and personality. In our teens, the usual group of young folk you'd see at any Hall would all hang out bowling and skating and going to the movies and having more fun than you could imagine! After we got a year or two older, it was time to select a mate (to avoid sinning) and since these sisters were attractive, sweet and faithful, they were able to marry the Top Notch "Prince among Men" types of brothers. That's when the dream became nightmares. Pretty much all of those wonderful young sisters were subjected to Verbal abuse and some lived with Physical abuse. I cannot put into words how agonizing it is to see a nice young sister you used to have so much fun with get into a marriage with someone when is destroying her one day at a time. You watch over time how as her husband becomes more prominent and gets more praise, this poor sister begins to look more and more lifeless to the point where she is just an empty shell. I ran into one such old friend who told me she was on her way out because she could no longer exist in the double standard. As she put it, "When my husband has a complaint, there is no end to the counsel from the brothers that I will receive. BUT... when I have an issue with his behavior, ONCE AGAIN... there is no end to the counsel I will receive. Then, after they show me all the ways I need to improve, my husband and I get in out car to drive home and he is floating on top of the world as he is telling me how grateful I should feel to have such "loving" shepherds that are helping their marriage succeed." She had reached her limit. The sad thing is, the lack of empathy displayed toward sisters who are being Dominated is awful. I have had brothers say, 'Sometimes the sisters just walk blindly into traps at work with worldly men.' The implication being that these Wonderful brothers have to put up with weak sisters. In lots of cases, it's completely the other way around. I recall being a kid and hanging out over some of my peers houses and when that elder-dad walked through the door, you would have thought you were in Hit*ler's War Room! The yelling, screaming and literal profanity had us kids wanting to hide under the bed! Then, the next morning the brother gives a discourse on "Mildness" that ends in thunderous applause. Sorry to vent a little there, but my main point is that NO One should be judgemental toward this sister or any others for that matter. I know of a sister who was being overwhelmed by being the sole breadwinner because her husband was an unemployable dru*k and she was told that she was not doing enough to keep her husband happy and content. As far as the brother, he received NO counsel at all. These women endure much and they have absolutely no comfort because the general root of the family issues stem from her not doing enough to qualify as a Capable Wife. All I can say to this sister and the others like her is that serving God with sincerity does not mean sacrificing your personal dignity. Think about this: Are you serving God out of a sincere heart by engaging in activities that you hate just to avoid being reprimanded? If you lived your entire life going above and beyond just for the sake of appearances and you get to be elderly on your deathbed, what really was the purpose? As the expression goes, "This is NOT a rehearsal... THIS IS YOUR LIFE!" I'm not encouraging or supporting behavior that will put you in a place of guilt, but no person - Husband, Wife, Elder or whatever - has the right to expect, demand or guilt trip you into a life filled with suffering by persuading you to sacrifice YOUR life just so they can life THEIR "Best Life" as they walk all over you only for you to end up feeling miserable that everything you did was meaningless. There are many of us who know the suffering you sisters are enduring. If you are in a Bad marriage, read, research, speak to a professional and find some way to build yourselves up and Get Out from under the oppression you are living because that is the ONLY way you will ever do anything with sincerity and meaning and fulfillment.

Glad she did not hurt herself. It is sad what is going on in the hall, the only help is elders etc which is are not easy to talk to unless your family is connected. Marriage in the JW is difficult it is not easy to find a suitable mate, the only acceptation is if both sides of the family have a strong male figure who is strong in the faith. True..where is the elder when couples get engaged why is it no talk then. Knowing someone is important. I see why it took me a long time to ever find someone in the org. I ask to much questions so much it makes them think. A troubled marriage is hard to live in.

I know a lady that had a FULL scholarship to the Juilliard school in nyc- she was on the fast track to becoming an international opera singer- until she met this evil demonic cult- she quit school and went into a deep depression-don't know what happened to her pray she is well!
