I have to add this Laura. I tried this cake 3 times in last 2 weeks over the holidays and my 4 yr old son has absolutely LOVED this cake. I made it without the crumble coating and gave it some healthy twist by adding half wheat flour, and believe me he would just gobble up the cake. His friends loved it too and this has been by far the best cake we enjoyed this season. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Laura! Quick tip!! When you use vanillabeans, mix the seeds with little sugar on your board before adding it, it helps seperate the seeds .)

Laura, you can never go overboard on adding blueberries 😉

So when this recipe came out I didn't really pay attention to it because I thought "oh well it looks so simple and boring and why would it be delicious?" But two months ago I had just a few ingridients on my hands so I was searching some simple cake and I remembered about this one. I had no blueberries, they are not in season here but I had several batches of frozen black current from my garden that I've picked last year. I don't like current so out of all the frozen berries it was the only one left. And what do you know? This "simple" cake turned out to be soooo gorgeously delicious that I am complitely addicted - it is the only dessert I've been making for two months!

I made this cake yesterday for Mother's Day and it turned out fabulous! Everyone loved it, and I must say you were absolutely right about the house smelling amazing when baking this cake! Thanks Laura =)

This coffee cake is amazing! This will definitely be my "go to" coffee cake recipe. I made tin cake twice in two for a gathering and the first time I made it in a casserole dish and tonight I made it in the spring form pan and it came out much, much better. Thanks Laura!

I made this cake today, and I used yoghurt instead of the sour cream, and vanilla sugar instead of the extract. It had risen so beautifully, and it was so delicious! I baked this coffee cake this morning. Its a great recipe, very, very moist. After a long trip to William & Sanoma to buy some vanilla beans. It barely made a difference between the actual vanilla bean w/ the extract verses just vanilla extract.
