Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine without a keto group at 2nd position. This drug acts as sedative and anxiolytic and it is metabolized into active metabolites like demoxepam, nordazepam and oxazepam. It is a long acting benzodiazepine that acts on GABA-A receptors to facilitate the action of GABA leading to hyperpolarisation.
