Did the Military Violate Religious Rights During the Mandate? 

I think a whole lotta people had their rights violated during the Covid hysteria. The problem is that the people who made the decisions to ignore those rights are never gonna face any civil consequences.

EVERY commanding officer that signed one of those letters should be relieved of duty and given an OTH discharge.

I’m a decorated E5 in the Guard, they never even bothered to discharge me. Took my gear and said don’t come back to drill. 8 months later I get called 5 days before drill to come back or be Chapter 8. They kept me on the books and counted all my drills as absent. They made it personal, didn’t have to be that way. I’m back now, 7 months from ETS. No gear, no insurance, no backpay.

My wife works for the Veterans Suicide hot line. She cried during your speech about the Army members who were kicked out due to not wanting to get the jab. Why? Because she has spent countless hours talking to those exact service members, talking them down from the edge, and having some of them end their lives while she was on the line. THE DOD HAS FAILED IN A HUGE WAY AND THEY DONT SEEM TO GIVE A SHIT!!! Please keep those service members, families, and responders in your prayers.

23+ years of service, two over seas tours including three CONUS mobilizations, fully qualified, zero discipline one religious accommodation request and a medical exemption request they refused to forward up the chain ,.... Kicked out of my unit and processed for discharge. And I'm an E8. All this while having to complete Civil Rights Awareness training every three years?! I'm glad someone had the backbone to say it. I lost my job with the DOD because of this.

I honestly told my nephew, who wants to be an aviator for the Navy, to not join any ROTC, or even look into joining. This mandate was the straw that broke the camel’s back. It honestly sent me into orbit when all this came to light. I served 15 years, dealt with a lot b.s., left with an honorable discharge and am damn proud of it! This is just another one of those knives in the back of we who raised our hand in our country’s time of need. Thank you for putting it out there for the country to see.

And the military wonders why it has a recruiterment problem.

I got kicked out for this 15AUG of last year. Honorable discharge, can't complain really. I got lucky. Not much opposition from my superiors, I wasn't a shit bag or anything. I was quite good at my job. I didn't refuse the jab for religious reasons. I didn't think it was medically necessary. I got COVID at boot camp 2020, haven't gotten it since. They tested me more than anyone, while vaxxed shipmates were getting it all the time. I don't know. But I talked to shipmates that refused religiously, they suffered the most for sure. They had to talk to the Chaplin, get written explanation from the leader of their church/group on why they should be exempted, and then they just got blanket denied.

Honestly my only question is how do they still wonder why retention is so damn low im sure many people had a dream to do 20 but saw this situation and got out due to it

I've been in the Army for just over four years now. I submitted my religious accommodation request in November of 2021. The Army never got back to me with a denial or approval. They didn't let me PCS for 8 months because I was unvaccinated. I finally PCSed last month after the mandate was lifted, and now the Army is begging me to reenlist. I have less than a year left on my contract, and there is no way I'm going to reenlist now unless if they force me. I loved the Army before Covid, I still do in many regards, but I'm not going to be part of an organization that requires us to take an oath to the constitution, and then blatantly disregards it.

I can confirm every bit of what youre talking about here AC. I was a CPO at a Navy training command and saw EVERY religious exemption get denied blanket wise, to the point that they tossed non covid related exemptions in the bucket. We were directed by higher HQ to deny every single one without submitting them outside our local COC.

I was black mailed into getting the shot. I was young and scared, so I caved in two and half hours later. I had a blood clot on the left side of my brain, leading to a stroke at 24. I recently got my claim back for my stroke (I was in uniform while on drill orders). I got the claim back, and it said it was denied with the words "not service related."

I was sent to Court Martial while I was awaiting a MEB decision for cancer because I refused to get the vaccine. I'm extremely glad that someone finally put this on blast. Thank you Drill.

And then they asked for amnesty... Yeah no, whole rights were omitted. The feds need to pay.

I remember some guys in my unit were all for being discharged if they’re liberties were being ignored but once they heard the word Dishonorable they got pissed cause that heavily limits their hiring outside in the civilian world. An employer doesn’t even need to go further than dishonorable and decide “nah we’re good” no questions asked. I was lucky I was retired a month before the mandate went into full affect so I didn’t have to get vaccinated

I was generally discharged under honorable conditions from the usmc because I refused to take the shot. I’ve been out for almost a year. I watched as tons of marines applied for religious exemption. Not a single one was accepted, not a single one of their appeals were accepted. I had some of my command encourage me to apply for religious exemption and I had some of my command tell me don’t bother. Command of the 2nd MEF also gathered up all of the marines who refused the shot, the SGT.MAJ. of 2nd MEF told all of us our last day in the Marines would be October 27th 2021 and that we needed to be prepared to move on and have our affairs in order because we would no longer be in after that day. Most of us set up jobs, some guys moved their wives and children across the country. I personally lost out on my dream job because I gave them an inaccurate start date. October 27th came and went, none of us were out, we were held in place or moved to pariah units with nothing to do but look at white walls. I ended up getting out May 22nd 2022. And some of the other marines were still sitting in that room waiting on word. It was bullshit. All of it just swept under the rug. Thanks for trying to spread the word about it.

Imagine all the years service men creatively tried to get discharged from the military and failed, and all you had to do, was just say no to a shot.

My marine friend was honourably discharged because he refused to take the vaccine. Watching this makes me glad it was an honourable discharge and not worse.

My siblings and I are/were all in the service. My oldest brother was hazed, persecuted, mistreated, lost pay and rank, only to get kicked out on a technicality after the federal courts ruled against the mandate. My other brother and I are still in. My oldest brother was air force, and we are in the army. I'm in the National Guard, so I'm currently still living at home. When my oldest brother came home, he said he was happy to be rid of all of that stress, but I can tell he is really hurt by how he was treated by everyone in his unit. I'd kick his commander's ass if I ever got the chance, but I probably won't and it's probably best that I forgive the people who hazed him and move on with my anger. I can always rest knowing that I never once gave in to their BS and that neither one of my brothers did either. When we are but a fading memory, the history books will remember us as the ones who stood up for the right to stand up. When all fades away, our King will give us a crown and a due reward for our struggles against the Whore of Babylon. Don't give in to the evil. It will never be worth it. God bless.

Not a religious issue for me, but I felt so helpless and backed into a corner with the Navy bc I was pregnant at the time, and no one really knew yet how the vaccine would affect unborn babies. We were the guinea pigs and I HATED that feeling bc I was in no position to be able to get out and survive financially. Thankfully my baby was ok, but this was still so fucked up. I'm out now and NEVER looking back. Edit: Actually let me take that back some. I went into labor almost a month early, and my baby had days of blood sugar issues and jaundice, and couldn't gain weight until a month old. Is that related to the vaccine? Honestly, I don't know, but I think that's the issue.

I’m grateful for this video you’ve posted AC. About 5 years in the ARNG, I was preparing to fill a slot for BLC late 2020/early 2021. Then the mandate came out. Entire career was put on hold, I was hoping to make a 20+ year career out of this. All of the men in my unit who refused and gave exemptions have not been told anything of our situation. They won’t send us to any schools, no promotions etc. (even after removal of the mandate). I had a great squad leader and even better friend just get out because of how the DOD handled this situation, the lack of concern of welfare of soldiers, amongst other reasons. Our 1SG told him the Army had his back. Nothing could be further from the truth unless you side with them on any and everything. That man was brought to tears as he walked out of the building. I’m not here for sympathy, brownie points or recognition. I’m just grateful someone’s feeling the same way I know alot of us are.

My brother’s a CW3 in the army, basically wrote a research paper as his conscientious objection, chaplain thought it was so good he asked if he could use it as an example for anyone else pursuing one. It was denied. Strangest thing is the surgeon general had the final say on something that’s a religious matter. He ended up getting vaccinated so he could be deployment ready. Then he got told he couldn’t deploy unless he had boosters, but you can’t get boosters until a few months or so after the initial vaccination, so there he was, vaccinated against his will in order to deploy and still can’t deploy.

Marine Corps reserve here. My platoon commander told us as soon as the order dropped "Dont bother filling out a religious exception, none of you are going to be approved." That was september of 2021. They had all of us dropped to IRR by february of 22, and still haven't gotten any of us discharge paperwork yet.

I remember during the time we were debating that with our chief saying it might have been a violation of our rights. And the response was "when your in the military you loose some of those rights". And when someone said well then I'll get out chief said "ok we will find someone else". Good job Navy

Around the time they were doing everything short of physically forcing the needle into your arm, my contract ended. It was either suffer the consequences or opt out of re-enlistment. Its the only reason i don't wear the uniform anymore, and I hate that they forced that decision on to me.

Was at RTC during covid, had a recruit who didn't want the covid shot. He had a legitimate religious reason for not wanting it. He was a good recruit, hard worker but a little goofy. They let him finish all of bootcamp, graduate, then admin sep him 2 weeks after graduation. All due to the covid shot. Kinda ridiculous considering some of the shitbags we ship out. He would have been a great sailor in the fleet, incredibly disappointing. Don't even get me started on the treatment of recruits in ROM (quarantine) What's even crazier is almost everyone I know (in and out of the military) has had covid despite the shot. I'm not just talking coming in with a "fever" to get 5 days off I mean real sick. Almost had to take my wife to the ER. What's the point of a mandatory vaccination that can cause some serious health issues if it doesn't work all that well? You'd think it cured cancer the way they pushed it

As a former service member, it was extremely painful to see how unjust service members were treated during this “pandemic”. Especially after the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

That whole getting stuck overseas thing... Happened to me. Held in Saudi, then when I put up a fuss and wouldn't just sit quietly, they moved me to Qatar 'on the way home', but then got 'stuck ' there for two months because of the whole no PCS thing. Since I was in Qatar and in an 'in transit' state, I couldn't even take leave. Couldn't travel, restricted to the places deemed allowable for dirty people like me, and held overseas. Think that's bad? Should've seen the threatening counseling involving my wife and kids who were back home in on post housing. Fifteen years in the army, and then this. Makes me sick. I was ran out of my unit, denied religious-medical exemptions and had to separate early, lost my ability to promote, I lost my bonus, some who got it had to pay it back, lost my disability percentage and all benefits and “vet” status with the local VA and never got my separation papers. Had to call multiple govt locations because NO ONE KNEW CRAP to finally get not a DD-214 but a NGB form 22 with honorable status in separation after 8.5 years of service.

AC I am also unvaccinated serving in the Michigan Air National Guard. I filed my religious exemption in December of 2021. I didn’t hear anything back for several months. Honestly I wasn’t pushing it because I knew there were lawsuits and congress working at the time to end the mandate so I was keeping my head down and hoping that the slow speed of the government functions was working in my favor for once and buying time. The whole time the guys in my unit were telling me it was pointless and not going to matter because they were denying everyone, but I had faith! Then in JULY of 2022 I received my denial letter, and it was a cookie cutter response for sure. At which point I had 3 options, get jabbed, get discharged, or appeal. They told me the appeal process only takes 1 week to get a response and they were going to deny it anyway. Again I had faith, so I submitted the appeal paperwork….. within that final week the federal injunction kicked in and they couldn’t force the mandate upon me while it was in place. The appeal came back denied but it was unenforceable. I then rode that injunction until of course the mandate was lifted. There are those that say there isn’t a God, but let me tell you, the God I worship just protected me from Uncle Sam!

I'm just waiting for when decades from now you see a commercial going: "If you served in the United States Armed Forces during the times of COVID, you may be entitled to compensation." Easy money.

At least all the pharmaceutical companies are exempt from prosecution

I had my religious request denied TWICE not just for the jab but for all future jabs. I could see the writing on the walls. So I submitted my first one in late 2020, It got lost. And in September 2021 I saw half my command lined up at a gym to get the jab. I had to step aside and sign a pg 13 with my Legal O. I readied myself for separation and went through a board where my CO asked me to provide a reason for which the Navy should keep me. I went through the ADSEP process and dragged my feet until the suites won and instructions to suspend seps came out. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to finish my first contract but here we are.

I always amuses me when the DOD complains that recruiting and retention is at an all time low as more and more stuff like this keeps surfacing about how they treat service members.

I know everybody watches these videos and we all laugh and are entertained, but everybody should sincerely appreciate the work that he goes through to whole heartedly care support for and assist service members and veterans in our country. Some scars are not visible, and the only people that have helped me have been other veterans, my brothers and sisters. Thank you for your service.

My husband was Army and never received his denial. We knew he would be denied. However, the Army never processed his packet and he went through an entire year-long mobilization basically blacklisted. He wasn't allowed to leave the country. He was temporarily kicked off post. And while he worked out of a hotel room, he was subjected to weekly covid tests. To this day we never heard anything on his packet. Staying in for the 20 was no longer an option and the Army he joined 16 years ago is not the same Army willing to kick him out over this shot. We felt so betrayed. We are so grateful he never took the shot. My heart breaks for everyone who was kicked out and i'm so thankful my husband stood his ground.

I was almost not allowed to retire and had to fight to be granted an exemption. I was threatened with throwing away all I worked for over the past 20 years. It came down to the wire, my waiver was disapproved, I started the process of going the legal route (the JAG was pretty useless BTW.) I was lucky but I have buddies still going through the ringer, not allowed to go on orders and not allowed to go up for promotion.

It’s pathetic that you as a single RU-vidr, does more for protecting our enlisted brothers and sisters than the entire system combined. Keep at it!

Your post script was spot on. I "mobilized" for a year to Active Duty between 21-22 at Ft Gordon. As an O3 I was the only officer in my whole BDE to refuse. As Cyber we're officer heavy so that says something. We had a number of Warrants and NCOs though. Every officer I knew just rolled over and took it. I had a few after the fact read my exemption memo and wished they had refused. I was somewhat unique in that I could put into words what other people were intuitively sensing. The officer corp in every branch is absolutely broken. Our academies do not teach you the business of war, policy, policy, logistics, etc. They are more or less long term hazing with a dash of ROTC and a really rigorous civilian education. Dont even get me started on the failure of ROTC. Long story short, I've served honorably for over 16 years (if somewhat mediocre) and I've served under presidents I agreed with, those I didn't, and those that were embarrassing. Sometimes a president was right in the center of that Venn Diagriam. This was the only time I've ever been ashamed to serve. I jumpped ship immediately after we DEMOB'd. Screw the last four years I need to get a crappy pension when I'm in my 60s. I'm now very content growing my obligatory "recently-seperated-vetran beard"

I’ve had 3 individual friends of mine get thrown out due to being denied religious exemption. They article 92 them for failing to follow the order to get vaccinated. All the things said are true and what your saying about how we feel is pretty much unanimous across the branches. And they wonder why retention is at an all time low.

The moral implications of this situation does not matter. What matters is that the government doesn't recognize boundaries or much less the rules they've made.

Glad you addressed the impacts on the Guard side/ the NGB memo for the vaccine mandate. I was on my State's COVID-19 response mission (AZ) for most of 2020. I ETS'd 20 Jan 2021. I kept in touch with a battle buddy when I got out, and after the NGB memo went out Jun 2022, her near-5 years of service ended with a 3 minute phone call. (Context: Guard troops could no longer report for drill, ATs, schools, exercises, any State missions, nothing... yet no official chapter was to occur). She was told she was not being kicked out... then an hour later they called her again to ask for her gear locker combination so they could turn in her TA-50. Last thing she was told was, "If I never see you again, thank you for being a good Soldier." hasn't heard back since. She gave up a different career to join the Army/Guard only to get shafted in the end. Funny thing is, she still got no chapter/discharge papers nearly 7 months later. So it seems she got kicked out without actually being kicked out. All of it is just so fucked up. Worst part is now that the mandate is over and that part of her life was ruined, nothing will come of it. I can only imagine how many more Guardsmen, Reservists, and Active Duty troops this affected.

I personally know 3 guys from 1 unit, that were involuntarily discharged after their religious exemption was denied by the state of MN.

This breaks my heart. I served in the 90s and early 2000s. It is shameful that the government is just shitting on the rights of our service members.

I was one of the people kicked out of the Navy last year for the vaccine mandate. At first, they told us that we had religious rights and to submit our package for religious exemption. We jumped through the hoops and did all that they asked even though the things we needed changed every week. It came to a point when they gave us a day that we were getting kicked out, I was a lucky one that actually got separated. Other service members of mine weren't so lucky. They didn't get to pick their next orders because we were told that we were getting separated; so they went needs of the Navy and got placed on shitty bases that they didn't even choose. I will never recommend anyone to join the Navy or maybe even the military in general due to my experience.

Dude I’m calling it now, once the “service connected injuries” that came from forcing this shit on personnel are gonna hit, it’s gonna hit the VA hard af. Who wants to bet they try to deny the coverage until they’re forced.

If I’ve learned anything from this, it’s that taking that shot because someone said if I didn’t I’d be out of a job, is the very last time I’ll compromise my principles for anybody. Especially a regime that hates me and everything that I stand for.

I was supposed to commission as a Infantry LT in May last year. I am Catholic, so I now work at a law firm. The absolute kicker though is that I was not allowed to commission- despite never getting my religious exemption request confirmed nor denied. As a matter of fact, it STILL has yet to be confirmed nor denied.

When I heard about that female soldier getting messed up from the mandatory Covid vaccine, I’m not gonna lie, I genuinely felt a wave of emotions. This is sickening and heartbreaking..

I had no idea those flu shots were optional when I was in the Army. They would march us to the medical clinic in formation and we’d all get the shot. It was the same with the controversial anthrax shots at the time. I got out in 2002 and haven’t had a flu shot since 2001 and as soon as I stopped getting the flu shots, I stopped getting the flu. This is why I decided, more than 20 years ago, that I would never allow myself to be forced to take any injection that I didn’t want.

I’m here with you. I was held for 8 month, not allowed around other people, not allowed to even leave part of the base, and treated as if I was some type of murderer. We had people who wanted to physically hurt us and we had people outright deny our needs just because we were unvaccinated. I ended up passing out and getting a concussion because I didn’t eat for days prior and the two days following that I didn’t eat as well except for two pieces of bread toward the end of the second day. The Navy didn’t give me any medical treatment for my concussion except take my blood and that was the last I heard from them in that situation. There wasn’t a day that went by where medical, legal, or the chapel wouldn’t call us murders, evil, or cuss at us. There was even a master Chief who told us our religion didn’t matter and we didn’t have any rights. It got to the point where one of us went to captains mast for sitting on a rack during liberty hours and that person lost rank, got put in restriction, and lost their pay. A few months after that they tried to separate them because they had a NJP on record and that was their entire argument. I finally got to leave that command and go on to training. I was not received well and was immediately treated as if I was lower than everyone else who was there. It only took a month or so but they phase stripped me for months and refused to tell me why and they started a case on me and refused to tell me for what. My room was searched everyday, I wasn’t allowed any privileges (unlike everyone else in my training group), and my commands legal department was trying to charge me with two article 92’s and an article 107 for reasons they still refuse to say. The most I got after have a retired Captain try to pry information out of them along with me trying to get information out of my boss is that they were building a case saying I wasn’t getting Covid tested. They’re “proof” is a page that’s left out all day without dates on it. I tied to pry information out of legal for the months preceding this to know what I should be doing and they refused to tell me all of it. This being said I was getting tested every week and the situation surrounding this case seemed very off to me. I ended up winning because not only did the legal department not tell me the reason behind the case but I also didn’t have anything in writing telling me to get Covid tested or do anything due to my vaccination status. Part of my class and I wrote stating that the way they handled having unvaccinated sailors on this base was wrong, I shouldn’t have to live in fear that at any moment my room will be searched or I’ll be charged with some made up charge especially when living on a military base. The following day my bosses boss (the reason I was phase one for months) walked in and told us that we don’t know what we’re talking about and to “get fucked”. That ended only a few months ago but the whole story from start to finish was from 01OCT21 to around the start of December 2022. All I got to say is I’m glad it’s over now.

Honestly this hit hard when we started talking about suicide. I hold a lot of sympathy for the soldiers who have taken their lives. It hurts knowing this has all been streamlined like some conveyer system.

Man, I’m an old timer. I got out in 1995. I look at how the Army treats its soldiers, specifically it’s enlisted and it almost makes me cry. Keep fighting the good fight.

I saw the words "Military" and "Violate" together, and I pretty much got everything I needed from the video.

I'm still waiting for the Army to acknowledge my religious rights. It's been a year and a half. Meanwhile I can't get promoted, deploy, reclass, go to any training schools, etc. Career is locked even though I'm not flagged for anything. That's only because I knew how to play the game. Others caught GOMARs or were denied re-enlistment. SecDef Lloyd Austin is a disaster and is intentionally purging the ranks of patriots. This is the same guy who came up with the extremism training and transgender training.

I remember when there wasn't any "religious" exceptions for refusing vaccines. If someone refused any vaccine with the exception that they had a medical reason, such as allergies with no substitute, either for religious reasons or personal, you were discharged for "failure to comply" with some regulation. If you declared that receiving vaccines was against your "religious beliefs" before you enlisted you were automatically disqualified for enlistment until such time as the prospective enlistee decided to take any and all vaccines required by the military. Anybody remember when the Anthrax vaccine became "mandatory" after 9/11? Keep in mind that in June 2001, the program was stopped by the DoD due the manufacturing process was not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but they decided to start it back up again after the Anthrax attacks. Around three dozen members were court-martialed and hundreds left the service to avoid the vaccine. This became an easy out for those that didn't want to be in the military anymore. Refuse any vaccine and you were discharged in 30 days.

I was considering on joining the military once the vax mandate was gone but after hearing this I can't help but feel that the government will do something like this again. The consideration is gone.

Civilian contractor working at NAS JAX here. It was well known back then that everyone was getting blanket denied. They even did the same thing to us contractors. I was 3 days from losing my job when Desantis made the ruling that Floridians could not be fired over the vaccine and our union finally had legal grounds to step up and fight for us. I felt really bad for all the service members we were supporting because they didn't have anyone fighting for them. They either had to shut up and take it or get kicked the F out.

I separated from the Marines mid 2012, so I watched from the fall of Afghanistan, the Officer Corp. Become, in my opinion, the most disturbing, disgusting example of either a complete evacuation of /or lack, of integrity I had only ever seen in small, non professional "Armies" of some nations (that start with P and doesn't end in D or L or U...) I then got to watch as it got worse, from all Branches, including my beloved Corp. I also saw something that is a catastrophic problem. And something I'd never ever thought could occur, the almost unanimous loss of confidence of the Officer Corp from the Enlisted. And I cannot understand how any staff Officer can justify not immediately resigning for that utter dereliction of duty on their watch. If you held the rank of Col. And above during this time, you have no sense of what it means to be an officer, much less a U.S. Officer. In my sincerest opinion. Semper Fidelis may be a Marine motto, but it should be a standard we all strive for within ourselves.

My wife is a VA employee and was forced to get a religious exemption and 2 years later it still hasn't been approved just sitting in limbo.

These last few years have been highly instructive for me. I have changed from a father who once looked forward to his sons wanting to serve their country, to a father who counsels his sons to never put their lives and souls at risk serving an ungrateful, and perhaps evil, master.
